Can you make change ? UGH
A guy will give me $50 for one lap dance, this leaves me thinking he generously tipped... shortly after.. "Do you have change?" Do I look like an ATM? This bothers me because he is wasting my time. Does anyone get mad about this? How do you react? I would love to know something to say to raise the probability of me keeping the money and not having to make change.. Honestly if he is a loyal regular I don't mind as much but otherwise there are no exceptions.
Thank you }:D:-*:D
Re: Can you make change ? UGH
I ask them how much do they want back and offer two amounts, one a high tip and one a more reasonable tip. If you frame it this way it pressures them into tipping especially if you act surprised when they want change. Occasionally they will ask for the whole amount back but I think they feel like assholes when they do and make some weird excuse like how they're a student or whatever and they'll throw you maybe 2-3 extra dollars. I've noticed this works better if you offer them two numbers, one high and one low. I was reading a book that said if you ask people for a big favor first and they say no, they're more likely to do a small favor for you later. I think maybe a similar principle is at work here.
Re: Can you make change ? UGH
Many times when I finish the dance I just tell them how much it is & whatever they would like to tip. So it's out there from the get go. Then if they ask for change back, I ask them how much they would like back.
Re: Can you make change ? UGH
When they hand me $40 or $50 for a $30 dance I jump up and down acting excited "thanks for the tip! you are so sweet" before they can ask for change. If they beat me to the punch I say "I can only give you $5/$10 back sorry that's all I have. Otherwise ask the floor host." They usually don't want the hassle of dealing with the floor host so I keep a tip by default. Of course I still make a big deal to thank them anyway...try to train them with positive reinforcement.
Re: Can you make change ? UGH
I only get them change if they were a pleasant customer, and I already have it in my bag. I only give change for larger amounts, like $60 back out of a $100 or something.
If they get one $10 floor dance and expect change for a $20, I usually put on my ice princess persona and go "Ohhh no, I only have $100s and $20s in here... You'll have to ask a waitress... good luck with that" bc the waitresses are always occupied elsewhere. They think I'm a bitch, but they usually let me keep the $$ rather than waiting around.
If they are especially cheap, they'll go up to the bar themselves, which makes me laugh to see them get visibly irritated at having to do so while I kick back in their chair. Honey, I am NOT a waitress.
(Sorry, offended TUSCL trolls reading this ::) )
Re: Can you make change ? UGH
I ask them how much they want back, IF I have change.
Re: Can you make change ? UGH
I HATE when customers do this. I'm not an ATM! I just tell them I don't have change and they can get it from the bar. I'm not gonna dig in my wallet to get you your change lol that should be a tip or you can get the change yourself.
Re: Can you make change ? UGH
I tell them I don't give change, or have time to wait for them to get it.
Re: Can you make change ? UGH
This question annoys the crap out of me, and it just rubs me the wrong way. BUT; I will ask how much they want back - most guys don't want to be a cheap-o and ask for it all, so that is a tip coming my way regardless.
Re: Can you make change ? UGH
$25 dollar dance and they give you $40
-act excited and thank them for such a good tip
If they still ask for change:
"How much change did you want?"
"Um $15"
"Oh, did you not like the dance?" (Major pouty sad face) "I thought we really enjoyed each other, I mean I really enjoyed it"
"I did enjoy it! You were amazing!"
"Well most guys tip if they liked the dance, I just thought since you wanted change it meant you didn't like me"
Always ends with a good tip
I'm great at puppy dog eyes and laying on the guilt lol
