Went and had my first day stripping on Friday. I'm working day shift at a club that is kind of set up like a sports bar/strip club, which is why I chose it, because it felt a little more casual and less pressure.
I feel like I did well. I even managed to use some of the advice in the Hustle Hut to get a perfectly nice customer to get 5 dances in a row. Yay!
I was super terrified on stage. I don't know how to use a pole, so I just mostly did a lot of crawling around on the stage and purposefully trying to catch the eyes of the guys sitting near the stage. I think most of the guys that tipped me on my first stage set just felt bad for me because I was shaking so badly (the stage fright struggle is real), but the second set I walked off with a thong full of bills and felt more confident.
I only made about $250, but the DJ told me I did well (he guessed how much I made almost exactly). Don't know if he was just being nice or actually being honest.
So I do have a couple of questions, if you ladies don't mind. Friday was a Halloween party and lots of dancers were there. It was hard to find guys to approach toward the end of my shift because there were dancers sitting with almost everyone, and the few who didn't have dancers sitting with them were creepers. What to do? Call it a day and go sit in the DR until I can leave? Sit at the bar alone? Maybe stand out of the way somewhere and observe the other dancers onstage, or observe the hustle of other ladies? I didn't want to just wander around the room like a lost puppy looking desperate for a friendly face, so I sat with a couple of different guys who weren't really spending, but were nice enough. I tried not to stay more than a few songs in any place that wasn't paying so I wouldn't piss off any other dancers.
Would I be wasting my time trying to sell VIP/bottle service to daytime customers? I haven't seen anyone go back to the private VIP areas during day shift, but I guess that doesn't mean it isn't happening.
Will the seriously heavy bruising on my knees eventually stop happening? I mean, after one shift, my knees look like someone took a baseball bat to them repeatedly. Does that stop after a time, or am I doomed to purple knees for the extent of my dancing days?
