Good site(s) to start on?
Hey I tried to search for the answer because I'm sure it's been asked, but I wasn't able to find any threads that were actually related to my question.
Anyway, I'm thinking about starting to do some webcam modeling to bring in some income while I have to take a break from dancing. It's probably a good thing to mention I can't dance right now because I'm visibly pregnant right now, so would that influence what sites I can work on?
I've done some research, the only site I've found that has a pregnant area is Streammate, but I've seen there has been a fair amount of issues with it lately. Is it still a good site to work on? Would you recommend it? Is a 35% payout a good amount, or do other sites offer better?
I saw that Internet Modeling offers 70% payout, but puts you on multiple sites at once. I've read from this site that studios aren't generally good to work for, what are your thoughts on this?
Any other suggestions for a good site to get your start on? Any sites particularly good for preggies, or does it not seem to matter much?
Thanks for any advice.
Re: Good site(s) to start on?
im a bit bias towards pay per minute sites but I think Stream ate is good. I've seen a lot of pregnant ladies there. I think since pregnant is a fetish guys will want to take you private over just tipping on token sites. Try not to think of the pre streamate cut. Think what you are comfortable making after the 35% and set your rates. Advertise your page as stripper gone preggo and watch the guys flood in
Re: Good site(s) to start on?
I think MyGirlFund could be good for you, actually. There are a lot of rules you need to follow, as with all of the sites...but, as long as you obey the rules....you can make $$$$ on there.
It is 65% payout, with guaranteed 2.5% increase every 5k you make.
It's a good place for the following reasons:
-Higher payout
-Videos and pictures hosted on the site (you can offer download links if you want from mediafire or dropbox)
-You can cam, sell videos, pictures, dirty chat, erotica, etc.
-Paid private messages (65 cents per private message you reply to)
-Good for new girls that want to get their feet wet with camming, but don't want to live stream in a room, or work on a token website.
Re: Good site(s) to start on?
AHHHH! GET AWAY FROM INTERNET MODELING!!!!
I'll let you research the rest on your own (because there are tons of variables) but OMG STAY THE FUCK AWAY FROM THAT PLACE. I had to save you. I got screwed, and then got lucky twice, and ended up an indie model on SM, but I got lucky twice. Don't sign up with them. Ever.
Re: Good site(s) to start on?
I tried MGF and it just wasn't for me but there's no reason you can't try both. MGF is good if ur a content type of model like photos/videos. I don't think they have the technology for camming. Camming is a high bandwith activity.
Also I didn't think MGF had the traffic of the big box camsites like Streamate MFC, Chaturbate. It felt like the kind of website you had to build up clientelle over time.
on the camsites, the new girl status will also help you for a month or so. Cam heavy during the new girl status so you can pick up the most guys.

Oh, Thank god you said it. I had a mini attack when I read "Internet Modeling" and was worried no one had warned her in time! Whew!

Where did you read that Internet Modeling offers 70%? That's not even close. They only pay models 20%. That's the lowest percentage I've ever heard of for a cam site. But besides that, they are a STUDIO (a Streamate studio). Please stay away from Internet Modeling. You are better off signing up directly with Streamate instead.

I think they offer 70% on their own little stream site (I forgot the name). They make it seem like that site is the one they get with tons of traffic, when in fact it's actually SM that you end up working on.
Re: Good site(s) to start on?
I used to use Naked.com but you have to do too much for too little to make money there. I now use Chaturbate... I do nothing but sit around and eat food/talk to people/play my ukelele and make around 50 an hour. More if I feel like dancing or doing shows (I also hate doing shows so...)
It's a good side gig when I'm not at work

for sure stay away!
70% is a complete lie. They are paying 70% of their profit which leaves a host with only 20% when you could be getting 30 or 35% with a direct sign up.
They are liars and thieves and it makes me sick that they are allowed to still be in business.
Re: Good site(s) to start on?
so internet modeling . com is not good for camming?
Re: Good site(s) to start on?
NOOOOOO! Internet modeling . com is a terrible, horrible site. The only thing they will do is put you on Streamate and take a huge cut of your money. You can sign up on Streamate directly, and you will get 30 or 35% of the money spent on you (depending on your location). If you sign up with I.M., after they take their cut, you will be left with only 20%. And they do NOTHING to help you at all. Beyond that, once they sink their teeth into you, it is almost impossible to get out, and you will never be able to undo your mistake and make 35%. You will be stuck with 20% forever. DON'T SIGN UP WITH THEM!
Re: Good site(s) to start on?
As far as internet modeling dot com. If you sign up with them (perhaps specifically if you start your sign-up process at webcammodels . com), then you can do webcamming work through them on two sites: Streamate, and webcammodels . com. Webcammodels is a smaller site that is owned more directly by IM.
Webcammodels . com is the site where you get 70% payout. However, there are fewer customers there. Most of the time, people don't tip you or go private with you, but eventually someone will come around who tips you. It is set up like a chat room, with up to 200 people in one chat room (and a handful of chatrooms to choose from). People can view each other's webcams. You can broadcast your webcam in the chat room, ask people to tip you tokens in return for sexy favors. You can also charge people tokens to go private with you, per minute.
The problem is that when you work on Streamate, while signed up through IM, then you only get 20% payout from your work on Streamate. (your payout on webcammodels . com = 70%. Your payout through them on Streamate = 20%). If you sign up directly to Streamate, instead of through IM or any other studio, then you would have gotten 35% payout, instead of 20%.
IF you sign up through IM, and change your mind, decide that you'd rather work directly through Streamate. Then, apparently if you quit any studio, you have to wait a certain period before you can sign back up with streamate. For some studios, the wait period is 3-6 months. For IM the wait period is a year.
They also don't tell you, when you first sign up, that if you work on webcammodels . com, you have to reach a minimum of 600 tokens before you get paid out. However, they do pay like they say they will. Webcammodels.com is also called chatville . com, as well as adultvideos . com. If you sell videos on adultvideos dot com, they require you to sign over the video's copyright to them! A very bad deal.
Re: Good site(s) to start on?
Btw A lot of the men in the chatville.com, don't realize that most women there are webcammodels. They think the women are just there to chat, or make friends, and do stuff for free. Of course, it is also a place where regular people can just meet and chat free if they want to - and it is designed to just look like an adult chat room.
Some people say that studios can be good, if they promote you. I'm not sure whether IM promotes their models, or affects their placement on streamate, or anything. They don't give you any training on how to use the site. Which is bad, when you don't know how to the interface lets you know when a customer tips you. So, before I ever received a real tip, I had one person trick me into thinking he'd tipped me, when he didn't.
Re: Good site(s) to start on?
Stay the ever loving fuck away from the shit hole that is Internet Modeling, jesus. They literally take 42.8% of EVERY dollar you would've earned on SM without the studio.
SM is a power house. The reason people stay with it through the glitches is that models still make $50-$100+/hour with a strong hustle. I just cleared a $90 hour myself on SM. If I'd been with IM douche bags, I'd get less than $52 of that for myself. The 70% through their own private site is nothing because the site has virtually NO traffic.
They've literally set themselves up in false advertising, bait-and-switch tactics to trick people into giving them a fuck ton of their hard earned money for next to nothing in return (nothing at ALL if you don't count the shit traffic/nearly ~$0/hour site they do pay 70% on).
Sign up on SM as an independent model. Work on CMD (cam model directory), Skyprivate, or LCMS (Live Cam Model Shows) if you want to do independent fetish cam shows. Dudes love those and pay super well. Indy sites will pay you upwards of 75-85% on the dollar (the three I listed, anyway).
Again, NO STUDIOS! The only 'good' studio around is daily pay (on multiple cam sites) by Katy Boleyn.
Those of us who were stuck in a studio or almost lost cash to them when we were newbies can be passionate about this, fyi. lol
Re: Good site(s) to start on?
^^ Just to piggyback onto this, I was filling out an Internet Modeling form when I searched it and found this forum several years ago. Lol. Thank god for StripperWeb.
Re: Good site(s) to start on?
Well goddammit, I just signed up with IM two days ago. Does this mean that I am stuck wiith them? Do I have to quit camming entirely for a whole year before i can sign up with another site? Or does that only apply to SM? I have 90 fans and 80 tokens for 4 hours worth of nothing but chat over two days. I was just trying to learn my way around the site with the intent of signing up directly when a guy who identified himself as a site moderator sent me a link with an application that I THOUGHT was for the site. I. Feel. So. Played. And. Dumb.
Re: Good site(s) to start on?
You are going to have to directly contact SM to have your account closed, then wait the period of time dictated in the contract to work on SM. All other sites are fair game.
I personally did a lot of research and settled on CB as my starting place. I like the hosting and chatting and making the room fun aspect. It is very much my personal style. I wanted to try MFC which I learned about 3ish years ago and have been following a particular model on, but decided I best try there when I have a better handle on how to host, hustle, and play the game.
My second choice for starting was SM, but with all the site issues and me being new, I wasn't sure about that. It turns out that they have rules about certain things in names and since you can't mention any outside sites (including google) people wouldn't be able to find me from there because I couldn't use my primary name. In my case "spy" cannot be in the name, therefore Rispy is not allowed.
Other things that you should consider to do with (or even instead of if you find you like it more) are making vids and posting them on clips4sale (if you do this try to post at least one a day and if you branch out in several different genres make several stores to get more exposure) and being a phone sex operator. I've had a lot of people ask for my phone number, kik, etc. and I don't have time to shoot the shit with them for free all day, so I'm thinking I'll use chatstar or dreamlover for those who really want to chat with me a lot. Another site that caught my personal attention because it has fewer restrictions about weird fetishes is talktome. There are plenty of others and for clips and POS you should check out the Other Work section on this site.
Don't worry, all is not lost! One door may have closed, but there are so many that are still open!
Re: Good site(s) to start on?
Ok, great! Thank you so much for the response! I was actually looking into CB, but was worried that signing up with an agency meant that they took a cut from my earnings regardless of what site I signed onto. But if it means that I'm only restricted with SM, I think I can live with that for the time being. Really, Rispy, thank you so very much.
