Headache from lighting changes
I've read a ton of lighting threads and can't find this issue. Whenever I lean forward or back, the lighting darkens and lightens. Forward is dark, backwards is light. It's constant. I can't move without it happening! I have a Logitech C910. I have a lamp pointed at me just above my monitor and one off to the left side. If I watch the camera video for a minute I end up with a headache, so I can only imagine what viewers must be feeling. I turned off the "Right Light" setting and it still does it. Any ideas what I can try? I'm at my wit's end! :'(

Ugh, that sounds horrible.
Have you tried switching off every automatic thing that adjusts itself, put it all on manually? By that I mean untick auto for gain and auto for white balance (if we have the same software). Then nothing should adjust. Those are in the advanced settings on mine. Good luck :) xx
Re: Headache from lighting changes
More light might help- I find myself having a similar issue if there isn't enough ambient light in the room.
Re: Headache from lighting changes
That is because of the Right Light setting, but even when you turn that off, you have to unclick any of the "Auto" settings and then adjust it manually from there.
Re: Headache from lighting changes
You might want to get your eye checked to see what is the route of the headaches.
I know someitmes for me my eyes get extremely dry but that could be from my meds or the amount of heat in my room while I am on cam which someitmes comes wiht a headache.
Re: Headache from lighting changes
I had unticked Right Light but there was still that option ticked in Advanced after all that was doing it. I'm also going to try a light behind me because the room is much too dark back there.
I never get headaches so it did freak me out a little bit, especially because of how strong it was. I do get dry eyes constantly, though.
Thank you so much for the help!! You ladies are amazing! xoxo
Re: Headache from lighting changes
I use two cowboy kit lights on either side behind my laptop complete with umbrella & daylight photo bulbs.
Umbrellas diffuse the light so it isnt so harsh & cast shadows, plus prevent headaches.
It is so bright, it still does cause headaches after 4 hours but don't have the space behind laptop to back them up a bit sometimes. A bare bulb or part of a bare blub glare kills the eyes & causes headaches.

This is what we do on SW, someone has a problem we all try to find a solution. Hope they work out well for you. A friend of mine cammed with me last week was amazed how good lighting took ten years off of her face.
Lighting is important.
Smooches,
