Failing at goal and losing motivation - advice needed!
I had a big financial goal (buying a studio) that used to be my motivation for camming. In the last few months, I've been making so little I haven't been able to put anything away (and actually spent a big part of the money I have saved on toys and equipment to boost up my earnings), and now that there's no sign of improvement my motivation is vanishing. I started slacking because the thought of buying a studio looks ridiculous now and $250 a week is enough to live on, so why jump out of your skin to make more. I can't get myself look happy on cam and all I actually want is to crawl into a dark corner and die because of how empty I'm feeling. What do I do to get my motivation back? Should I keep clinging to the goal no matter how stupid it seems to me now or just let go of it and move on?

I just want you to know your goal isn't stupid. Even if it takes longer to reach, it just means adjusting your expectations if you can
Re: Failing at goal and losing motivation - advice needed!
It sounds like you're burnt out Lexi. If you can afford to do it, I suggest taking a break/vacation for 1-2 weeks to recharge, refocus, and find some energy and motivation again for work and, honestly, life in general. If you can't afford to do it right now, sock the cash away as quickly as possible and get the fuck off for 1-2 weeks, because no matter what you might think right now, you need a fucking vacation. Seriously, your post screams it.
On that break, don't work. Don't work even once. Don't even think about working or anything work related. Just don't do it! As you get towards the end of your break and you've started to de-stress and unwind (so, day 6-7 on a one week break or day 11-14 on a two week break), start thinking about work in a positive way. The time away from cam should allow you to make a list of all the things you love about your job and why you enjoy doing it. It could be as simple as saying 'I look at all the other people going to work for next to no money at all, struggling so very hard, and I never want to be that way,' or as much as 'I really do love my job and want to do it for it's own sake.' Pump yourself up and get into a solid mood for the pre-holiday rush, you know?
Also use this time to reflect, towards the end only as I mentioned before, on whether or not camming is still for you. Maybe it's time to get out and find something new? If after 1-2 weeks off and not thinking/stressing about work, all you can think is 'I do not want to go back' and after going back all you can think is 'I need another break or another job or another life,' then you need to find at least a supplementary job to take the pressure off of you to cam. Reflect and decide after time off though.
Finally, when you go back to cam, go slow. We all tend to feel refreshed coming back from vacation and so we throw ourselves back at our jobs with gusto. That's not a good idea--you'll just burn out on too much work all over again. Plan a gradual re-entry back to camming with assigned days off and the like so you ease back in over 1-2 weeks.
Basically, take a month to relax, soul search, and then slowly get back into things and see if you can't rebuild your love for camming before coming back at it full tilt.
ALSO, I recommend setting some new goals. Your goal for a studio is wonderful and you should definitely keep it as long as it's important to you in the long term, but it is a long term goal. Set some short term goals so you can feel like your accomplishing things even when the going gets rough, okay? Something you can do in a day, a week, or a month, with set rewards when you get there.
Good luck! <3

You are in your comfort zone right now. That's dangerous!
Lets say you bought that studio you want so much, what after? After that studio purchase, life continues too, you will stay the same person. You have to not only buy that studio, but perhaps another apt or maybe 2 to supply your life after camming.
Maybe you want to try dailypay?because i think you can get motivated everyday like that. You can withdraw money everyday and put something into saving so you can see(hey i saved money for my apt)
When i moved into my current apt i was trilled! Finily, everything i wanted. But soon enought i got a fucking sourest lemon ever! This fucking constructions around continue, noise begins 7 AM and finish 8 pm at summer, now they are working untill 5 pm. But nicest time of the day ruined!
All my dreams about comfortably working like all human being from 7-5 for example ruined. I cant even sleep Normaly! And i pay rent for this place 2000$. This is not even my place i pay some other people for place where i cant even enjoy the silence!
Long story and i keep it long!:)
1) plan your life( i need way more money than you, i want to move out from Usa-another lemon of my life)
2)look for other wAy to make money(filming clips, register on other sites, try other ways of working)i have main character, but i have sort of alter ego which is complitly different and i kidding you not i make more money from alter ego.

maybe you just need a vacation, as in a mental one - take a month or two of just logging in enough to make survival money, do something relaxing in the rest of the time and forget any other pressure.
Then rethink everything after you rested for a bit.
it's really bad because we are bombarded with how much you could make and everything and also, in eastern countries, if people know what you do they automatically assume you make a ton of money and also pressure you to help, but from time to time you should also think about yourself. And maybe even ask for help from those you did help in the past, not just be the rock for everyone.
Re: Failing at goal and losing motivation - advice needed!
your goal is perfectly fine, but you need something else on top of your goal that can pull you when your having a day like today. goals aren't the key to motivation, vision is.
Re: Failing at goal and losing motivation - advice needed!
Maybe break it up into small chunks. Don't know if your looking to finance but that could be an option towards your goal. Finance for a studio, then you'll only need a downpayment. That's more doable than trying to come up with all cash. Depending, you can also look into FHA loans for first-time homebuyers which is really affordable 3% downpayment. Sorry lol RE agent here.

I also think it sounds like you are feeling burnt out. Play the music that you like while on cam and that might distract your mind a bit. Do things that make it more fun for you. Break it into shorter shifts with smaller goals. Say, that you cam for 6 hours a day. You could work three hours then have an hour break or more or even go back on way later in the day when you have had some time to relax and finish your goal then.

Big hugs, Lexie, it sucks to feel a lack of purpose and no mojo. It sounds like a few different things are going on and I'm not at all qualified to diagnose you, not that you need professional help..If you do that's cool too.
Nothing is out of reach when it comes to wants and desires. That is what makes life fun! The process of getting there is what the path is...finding joy. I know it sounds annoyingly LOA and you are probably not in the mental space right now to tolerate positivity talk.
Maybe your goal isn't the right one and now you are kind of mourning the loss of that motivator. All it really means is that there is something else better. In a way, your living costs right now are a blessing because that means you can focus on finding your true purpose and passion.
Try something new for a few days and take a breather from camming. It can get very isolating. I have started volunteering myself just so I can get away and have something else to add more dimension to just camming life. it was just the thing I needed.

This is the BEST advice I have ever read on here! Thank You, Thank You Issabelle!
I am also suffering from major burnout, yet have a major money goal that is hanging over my head, which has been putting extreme pressure on me to work even harder. But just like the OP, I don't want to work that hard right now. Too burnt out.
Im going to take your advice and take a vacation the first of January, when camming slows to a halt anyway.
