Thinking about becoming an exotic dancer in Dallas..
I'm thinking about dancing. My financial situation isn't the best as of now. I've been thinking about it for years but never really had the urge to go out and do it until now. I live in Dallas so I know I could find somewhere to work but the only thing that is really stopping me is my lack of ass (I know that seems silly). I'm not the best "twerker" in the world so I don't know if that alone would ruin my chances of getting hired. I try to practice and I've visited a few clubs in the area and the girls are pretty talented in that area. Any tips for preparation before talking to someone about employment?

Hello, iFenee! I will be watching this thread, as I am in a very similar situation myself, and I also live in Dallas. Good luck to the both of us.

Thanks Eulalia! Hopefully, we'll get some advice! I also did a thread search that answered a lot of questions regarding how to do floor work and how to dance so this site really comes in handy!

Are you visiting urban clubs? In a regular gentleman's club, your stage show won't be your money maker, so a lack of twerking is really no big deal. I can't twerk or even do a pole trick and I do just fine in regular gentleman's club. It's all about your hustle for dances and VIP/CR.

I've been looking into urban clubs recently. Maybe I'll visit a regular club to see the difference!

If you don't have an ass & can't move the one you do have very well I wouldn't recommend an urban club because they're all about twerking and big asses. The nicer clubs in Dallas don't even have poles so you don't need to know any pole work either. Stages at these clubs are more about getting the customers to see you.. so you just have to look nice and know how to make yourself look sexy when you move. Personally i think the urban clubs are fun but they are SO much work for sometimes less the money. When I worked at those types of clubs I would literally feel like i was in a sweat shop because I was so tired from all the single dances and twerking on stage (& theyre open till like 5 or 6 am) I would be so exhausted so after a couple months it just wasn't worth it to me.

I was in onyx a few weeks ago and was thinking how tiring it may be.. I haven't went to an upscale or a nicer club just yet. I've only been to urban clubs. I recently moved to Dallas and haven't figured my way around yet or got to know what's in the area. On another note, I've been practicing my twerking (YouTube University of course haha) and I'm getting better. I'm also thinking about getting a pole.. just so I can invest time and practice at home.

Re: Thinking about becoming an exotic dancer in Dallas..
Well definitely still try them so you can see for yourself if you like it or not. They're just two completely different styles of making money. For a little while I was working at an urban club and one of the more upscale clubs and would just alternate.. sometimes I worked both clubs in one night. But like I said it was really exhausting.

If you don't have an ass, don't go to an urban club. The best practice is OTJ so go to a mixed or white club instead.

I thought about a white club! But I don't know if I would make any money or get hired. I'm African American so I'm unsure if I would fit in.

Re: Thinking about becoming an exotic dancer in Dallas..
If you can get into the Lodge, you don't need an ass or pale skin to make piles of money. The consistent top hustler there is black and skinny. Another successful hustler is whiter than paper with short red hair and boobs the size of the sun. Yet another has her head completely shaved and rocks the BDSM look, while another still is almost always in a cat girl costume of some sort. Look wise, it's definitely a club where the managers try and have something for everyone. The hard part is getting hired. If you can go in and present a calm, sane, professional demeanor, though, your odds will be better than most. Just make sure you get Debra to audition you. She's usually around for night shift. If you get Mike and he turns you away, ignore him and come back later in the week for Debra. Mike is very specifically *not* the dancer manager, but he fills in on Debra's days off/when she's not available. Anything having to do with dancers, Mike is immediately not a fan of. Take his words with a grain of salt.

Thank you SO much. I was actually searching the Web earlier this week and saw The Lodge. When I went to the website, I was unsure if I would be a good fit! This gives me hope though. I'll probably go to the lodge in January to take a look and observe the atmosphere. As far as the audition, I'm pretty calm and professional. I've been looking on this site to get a great idea of what to change into during the audition. Do you have any extra tips at all for The Lodge or is it pretty much spot on like other clubs?

Re: Thinking about becoming an exotic dancer in Dallas..
iFenee there are girls of all races at all of the white clubs so don't let that stop you. I was hired at the Lodge but I personally hated that club lol it seemed too much like a restaurant to me and I felt really awkward there. I have a friend who works there and likes it though. I liked Men's Club a lot more and have made the most in my whole dancing career at that club but the money wasn't consistent and a little too slow during the week for me. Then Babydolls always has customers any day of the week and it's very consistent money..I think they're really strict with hiring standards though. But there are girls of all races at all of these clubs.
Definitely go and try these clubs out for yourself because I went to the Lodge thinking I would love it and stayed away from Babydolls because of stuff I read on here.. and I ended up hating Lodge and loving Babydolls haha. Everyone is different.

I've heard of babydolls! I know a few people said they were a little touchy there. I also read that The Lodge is picky when it comes to the ladies. Another concern of mine besides being African American is that I have a sleeve tattoo. I know the upscale clubs like minimum to none when it comes to that. I feel like Urban clubs will accept me with open arms but I don't wanna go to an urban club!!! Lol!!

Re: Thinking about becoming an exotic dancer in Dallas..
^ Oh yeah they are really strict when it comes to tattoos. Well who knows you might end up liking an urban club lol you'll just have to go see for yourself. Good luck!

Re: Thinking about becoming an exotic dancer in Dallas..
Super late to reply to the thread, but the Lodge doesn't mind Tattoos from what I've seen. As long as you're not totally covered, you should be fine. There's at least one girl here who has a sleeve, and several others who have tattoos. If you can rock the look, you should be fine.
For getting hired: Go for a natural look with your makeup -- be beautiful and elegant and classy, but not overly glamorous or wild. Don't take a shot before you come in -- they'll turn you away if they smell alcohol on your breath. Be as straightedge as you can. Clean, professional, calm, put together. If Mike turns you away, come back again and try for Debra. When you audition, they'll give you something like 20 seconds on the stage. They won't have you wait until the start of the next song -- as soon as you're ready, they'll come get you, lead you to a stage, and have you start dancing. They'll have you dance and strip down to your thong, and then pretty much immediately after that, they'll have you step down. It can be a little jarring, like "well crap, was I that bad?" But that's pretty much it. Don't do pole tricks, even if you're a god at them. The point of the audition is so they can see your body and see how you move/have a general idea of what your dance style is. Again, they only give you a few seconds. As soon as you're in your thong, you're pretty much as good as done.
What you wear to your audition doesn't matter too much. To actually start working, they'll want you to have a dress. At the very least, you need to have something opaque that covers your butt, so a skirt would work. Day shift will be more guys paying you to sit and talk to them. Night time will be hustle time to get dances/VIPs. I personally prefer days, but to each their own. I've found both shifts make close to the same amount of money, so it really just depends on which style you prefer. It is very much like a restaurant, though. It's totally plausible that some of the guys in there might legitimately only be coming in for a quick lunch and then leave. People will also bring dates to the club. Half the reviews online rave about the food, of all things. From a dancing angle, it kind of tipped everything I knew on its head. It's a pretty different club. Definitely not something for everyone from the dancer angle.

Re: Thinking about becoming an exotic dancer in Dallas..
Urban clubs are fun and work, but if you hustle right you could do awesome. I rotate between the urban clubs and mixed clubs. Girls at my urban club don't all have a huge ass...yes it does help but those slim chicks are doing just as good. My ass isn't huge, but it isn't flat either....I do fine.

Op, have you tried any yet? How is it going?

Re: Thinking about becoming an exotic dancer in Dallas..
Yes any feedback on this thread? I'm in the dallas area as well and looking to start dancing here soon. I'm coming from va and the clubs there are all dives basically and not much money in the 804 area. So i have been studying the clubs here via Instagram and youtube to see how i can improve my style and look to fit these clubs. In VA you have to be skinny to dance. Here i see all these women are thick! Now i have never had a big ass as I'm tall 5'10 slim build. I have been in Texas almost a year now and have completely formed a ass without trying lol it must be the food here or something but now i have an nice round ass, still slim but have a lil pooch I'm trying to get rid of. As soon as i get my body toned and get some contacts for my eyes I will definitely try out all the clubs here in Dallas.

Re: Thinking about becoming an exotic dancer in Dallas..
Update on the lodge: the hiring manager semi-recently quit/got fired/left for whatever reason. Standards might be a little more lax (or at least different) now if anyone wanted to give it a try/new try now. Not sure who's doing the hiring at the moment or what they're looking for, but it seems to be a mish mash of whoever's available. Mike G is still covering night time auditions from what I've seen, so try and audition during day shift if possible.

Re: Thinking about becoming an exotic dancer in Dallas..
Well I'm actually thinking about trying out a few this weekend or next week. My body isn't where I want it to be and I don't have my contacts yet but I really need the extra cash at the moment. How's it going with you other ladies? Any luck? I won't be trying for vlive or dg's I don't think my body is right for them yet. What clubs are considered mid-tier or dives here in dallas if anyone knows? I was thinking to try xtc, babydolls, and black diamonds still. Should I go for it or nah? Also any tips on the best looks for these clubs would be much appreciated.

Re: Thinking about becoming an exotic dancer in Dallas..
I would tell anyone wanting to dance in Dallas to give the Clubhouse a try. Nights are great, day shift also makes good money, they aren't super-strict on hiring and the mix of girls and music is awesome! It's a relaxed environment and the girls aren't that catty, which is a plus. It's not fancy by any means but it also isn't divey or low-class.

I want to work there because I'm a die hard Pantera fan.
