Hitting a wall after a year
I've been dancing for a little over a year. I have been working at my current club for 8 months and lately I just haven't been making a lot money. I feel so drained now after talking to a few people. I have been struggling to sell multiple dances. Any advice to help me out of this slump?

Try another club, even if you come back. Sounds like burn-out and the only cure for that is a break!
Re: Hitting a wall after a year
Saving and making the most of this short window of opportunity is important. But it sounds like you need a break. I took two months off over the summer and it was amaaaazing. I moved to a new town, learned how to cook, exercised regularly, got on a normal sleep schedule, and just enjoyed being able to actually take care of myself. After 6 weeks I was itching to get back into it. Enjoy your money for a bit.

You might just need to switch clubs. This happens to me if I stay at one club for too long (which probably isn't even that long compared to dancers who've been there for years lol). Maybe not fully switch but try another club or two to switch things up a bit while still working at your home club one shift a week. That might help you get out of that slump.. or if that doesn't work take a couple weeks off if you can afford it.

It's fairly common (but by no means universal) for new girls to hit a wall once the novelty/thrill wears off and the club becomes your daily grind. Definitely try out new clubs, take time off, travel, spend time working on your hobbies.
Re: Hitting a wall after a year
IME, the most difficult thing to cope when you hit a wall is that the most effort you put in getting out of the slump, the most frustrated you get; so focus a little bit onto yourself rather than on your increasing frustrations. In the other hand, re-vamp yourself, it keeps routine boredom (and burnout) away from your skills and it helps to renew the novelty thrill lurkingtitties was talking about. Obviously, sometimes re-vamping implies a club change.

Are you in the Northern Hemisphere? It could be winter blues. Try increasing your vitamin D intake to as much as 10,000 IU a day. Here in Portland, OR we don't really get any sunshine from October-June and if you don't take high doses of Vitamin D and also hit the tanning beds every now and again a person could really feel like they are depressed.
I second the "switch clubs" idea also. That way you can escape all your preconceived notions about the customers in your club. There's nothing worse than getting up on stage, looking out at all the faces and knowing too much about the regulars in your club. This time of year, I recommend finding a blue collar club. Blue collar guys tend to get tax refunds and will happily spend that money at the strip club.
