Need Updates On Split-Camming Please
I posted this same info on the split-cam thread, but it didn't show up on the first message board page, and I really need some advice on new split-cam products ASAP. The last post there was last year.
Are there any news updates for split-camming? Today, I downloaded the verysoft spit cam application, can't make it work. I got tolooking through their website, and it doesn't look updated from 2013. I don't think verysoft will work with Windows 10. I want my money back, and I'm sure they'll give it back. But in the meantime do any of you experienced split-cammers have any new products you're using for Windows 10? Or any updatedadvice at all?
Thank you in advance.

Re: Need Updates On Split-Camming Please
I'm using verysoft on Windows 10 and it's great, don't know why it won't work for you...

Re: Need Updates On Split-Camming Please
Well, that's very good to know, thank you for replying so fast. Then the company will help me with tech support, I just can't use it today. The problem is they have no phone number, and say they'll answer you within 48 hours by email. I need to begin using it tonight. OH Well!!! You can't always get what you want. In the meantime I'm downloading a Windows version from the Windows App Store.

Re: Need Updates On Split-Camming Please
I am really an idiot when it comes to this stuff. Now I can't make anything work so I can work tonight. I watched videos on You Tube for an hour, and I can't find anything that makes sense. My webcam is on, my splitter is running, and I have everything the way the video showed, but my cam won't broadcast. How do you make the splitter recognize the cam site you're broadcasting on? Until I can communicate with verysoft, I'm using Windows Splitcam 5.4.3.2.1.

What cam site?
Are you using an encoder or broadcasting directly from your browser?

Re: Need Updates On Split-Camming Please
I'm on cams.com right now, and I think I am. But I think the encoder automatically comes on when I log in. When I finally get all of this figured out, I'm going to post the techie stuff I'm having problems with. I hope to get some good learning out of this. Thank you.

Re: Need Updates On Split-Camming Please
The version of VS that's on their site is suppose to work with Windows 10. If you're using the encoder sometimes you have to click a different source and then select VS again in order for it to work.
I can no longer use VS because its no longer compatible with the camera/video card I use. It works fine with other split software however when I turn on VS all I get is a black screen, other cameras(logitech) work fine with it though. I'm not exactly sure what's causing the issue because when I was using Windows 8 my cam/video card worked fine with VS, once I upgraded to windows 8.1 and eventually 10 it no longer worked with VS. I even contacted VS but they couldn't figure out the issue either. I really liked VS now I'm pretty much stuck using Manycam unless I go back to Windows 8 or find a different camera/video card.

Re: Need Updates On Split-Camming Please
You have to put verysoft as the video source for the cams encoder and you have to make sure its the right instance of verysoft because you can have more than one running on your computer at the same time. I did that once by accident.

Re: Need Updates On Split-Camming Please
Thank you for this information.
1. OK, so I put verysoft as the cams encoder from the modeling site's encoder?
2. Does anyone know of a video tutorial I can watch on this. I found some on the Windows Splitcam, but they did not relate to logging into more than one camming site.
3. When you're logged into 2 or more sites, can you have the site's windows up at the same times?
-
Re: Need Updates On Split-Camming Please
Yes both windows will be open at the same time. Logging on is done pretty much the same as you normally would. Just log on to a site, open the sites software and choose your video source in the settings. As long as your verysoft is open on your computer and running you should see verysoft listed as one of the choices. You pick it and then after you see that your up and running on site A you go to site B and do the same thing there. Its very simple you just have to find a way to juggle all these open windows on your screen that is where the hard part comes in.

All I know is that Cams WILL NOT let you splitcam using the free version of ManyCam. I tried it, and got kicked out of my room, and I think even got a warning or suspended for it. They have some ridiculous rules on Cams.

Re: Need Updates On Split-Camming Please
Thank you shyoncam, that is where I am going wrong. I'm not opening the site's encoder. Now I have to figure how to get into the site's encoder. Whewww!
VS instructions say their window is in the system tray. It is not. I cannot find anything in their instructions that relate to what I have after download. I have an icon on my desktop, and I can find the program under programs in control panel, that's it. As of now it's been 48 hours since I wrote them a numbered list corresponding to their instructions as to what I am not seeing and don't have, that I should see and have. I guess that 48 hour turnaround support is not good on weekends.
But, at least my split-cam education is moving forward. Thanks to y'all!
OH, I think Cams.com could be making SO much more money BrownFox. OK, so over the Christmas holiday they let us flash boobs for tips in free chat. So I know I made extra money there, and if I did, everyone else who did that probably made more. So why don't they implement that small allowance? No break button, you have to quit broadcasting to do anything, and lose everyone in your room. UGH!!! I think they are trying to keep their brand as different as possible from SM, just my opinion and I have no proof of that, but that's just stupid. My customers complain a lot about their rules too.
I wish I cared to go to Vegas for the convention, so I can meet the idiots behind their corporate structure, but I don't. I just need to pay my bills, because I'm too crippled to work, there's no jobs for my education where I live, and I'm not moving. I was doing great as a newbie on SM for my age, but had to quit that studio, and I do have a steady income from Cams, but not like on SM.

You're talking about on the website Cams? You've been able to splitcam on there without any warnings or suspensions? Yes, I think the issue with me and others getting in trouble for splitcamming has to do with that damn ManyCam logo sitting on-screen. I had been using the free version.
I need to revisit the Cams thread, because I think justanothercamgirl was the one who brought this to my attention when I was unaware that I was even breaking a Cams rule.

Re: Need Updates On Split-Camming Please
Hmm I'm not sure what can be the problem if you're not seeing the verysoft icon in your taskbar. If the software is running you should see that icon there. If you can find it then you can open it to a full size window by double clicking it. You have to choose a video source first though or nothing will happen.

Re: Need Updates On Split-Camming Please
You know what? A long time ago, I attempted to use a splitcam software (I think it was to split ImLive with AdultWork), and I'm almost positive the software was VerySoft. I could never figure out why the cam site(s) wasn't recognizing the VerySoft software, but I ended up giving up on it and going back to ManyCam. This was a while back.

I think I know where you're having problems, and I apologize if it isn't, because this is going to sound really, really obvious. I don't think you're an idiot or anything, but VS isn't intuitive at all, and I made this mistake, too.
Step 1: Double click on the desktop icon. It is probably labelled "WebCam Splitter" and looks like a round eyeball-eque webcam with multicolored arrows around it.
Step 2: It will look like nothing much happened. But...
Step 3: Now look at the system tray. You should see an icon that wasn't there before - it sort of looks like the desktop icon, except all grey and no arrows.
Step 4: Click the tray icon. You should get a menu that lists your webcam(s), multimedia, screen, network camera, and none. Choose your webcam.
Step 5: It will definitely look like nothing happened. But...
Step 6: Right click the tray icon. Choose "Output Settings." You should now see a window that shows your webcam feed!
The rest of the initial setup stuff:
Step 7: Right click the tray icon. Choose "Options." Most of this stuff you can ignore for now, but make sure that "Global FPS limit" is set to 30 or higher, and for "Transformation Mode," choose "Crop" (that means that if you use it on some site or program that isn't widescreen, it will cut off the sides of your picture instead of shrinking you down tiny and putting big black bars at the top and bottom). Click the "Customize" button and make sure that "1280x720" is checked. Then click "OK."
Step 8: Right click the tray icon and mouse over "Source Resolution." Choose 1280x720.
Step 9: Right click the tray icon and click "Source Settings." Adjust your camera brightness, white balance, etc., to get it the way you like it.
Did any/all of this work? If so, would you like info about how to watermark, take photos, or use VS's awesome zoom/pan/tilt feature?

I remember reading your post about getting a warning. Their wording is so weird. Something about not having more than one stream. That could be taken as "don't split cam" or "only have one broadcast on cams.com at a time." (which is weird, but Ive seen people on CB with more than one account broadcasting before.)
Don't know why but I've been able to open my cam on two sites before at a time without any other software... just the audio goes out on the one opened first, and just have to stop broadcasting for a second and it works again. But I cant get the split cam thing together because I cant manage it myself.

Re: Need Updates On Split-Camming Please
OH THANK YOU Magical. When all of the stuff I'm supposed see, like the icon in the system tray pops up, I will let you know. I apologize for not responding sooner, but my internet was down, and I couldn't get online. I will try that tonight.

Re: Need Updates On Split-Camming Please
Ok, I'm working right now, but while it was slow, step 1 worked, and I have the icon in the system tray. VerySoft has offered me a refund, but if this works I don't want one. I'll keep you informed.

Re: Need Updates On Split-Camming Please
It seems to be working fine, BUT, I didn't have to use my license key to make it work, so I'm afraid I may be using a free version with a logo, and I can't risk that. I have a email into VerySoft support, who has been totally unhelpful with instructions, even the simplest one you have in step 1. As soon as they tell me I don't have their logo showing on the sites I'm using, I'll know that it's truly working. Your info is invaluable. Thank you!

Right click the VerySoft icon with your mouse to bring up the menu, then click Help, About and see if it shows the name you registered it under. If not you need to put in your key on that same menu under registration. From what I remember it automatically puts it in when it asks for it on install.
I'm not understanding why you are saying you are afraid you are using a free one with a logo. Can you not see yourself when you cam? You'd be able to see it.

Re: Need Updates On Split-Camming Please
^Yes, if you're using the unpaid "test" version and didn't enter your key correctly, it should be VERY obvious. When you open the "Output Settings" and see your cam feed, watch it for a minute. Does it look normal? If so, you're good. If it flickers between color and black and white with a logo and some verbiage about being the unlicensed version, you need to enter your key as Laurie described. Again, they make it VERY disruptive and unusable if you are still using the test version, and you would definitely notice it.
Also, if you open up your cam site and set it to use VerySoft, but all you see is a black screen with the VerySoft logo, don't be alarmed. This is normal even if you are using the paid version. The problem is that you skipped one or more of Steps 1-4 in my post above. Either you haven't turned on VS at all, or you forgot to tell it to broadcast your webcam.
It also happens occasionally if VS is frozen. It's usually solved by "refreshing" VS. Left click the tray icon, choose "None," left click the tray icon again, and select your webcam.

Re: Need Updates On Split-Camming Please
Thank you ladies, going to work on that now.
And YEAH!!! I got it activated!!!

Re: Need Updates On Split-Camming Please
This is my favorite splitcam software: https://obsproject.com/
It's very light and super easy to use, just in case anyone has problems with VS or MC in the future. I know sometimes those programs can use a lot of CPU. OBS works on Mac and PC...and it's open source :)
I love it because you can put watermarks, scrolling stuff, and just all kinds of cool crap on the fly while you're streaming or simply save the settings...even multiple different settings...it's my fav :)
