Re: Stripper in disguise ??
If you have aspirations to be a public figure, dancing may not be the best option for you. If you're only doing it because it sounds fun and you like to dance, you can fulfill those desires in countless other ways that don't have the potential to have negative repercussions on your future goals -- you could join a burlesque or other dance group, as an example. Stripping isn't all fun times and there's very little dancing involved anyway.
Now, you can certainly get a wig and I'd definitely recommend doing your make up to look different, but a mask is likely not a good idea. It's not that it'll look corny so much as it'll just look weird as fuck and likely hinder your money.
As for you telling people and them using it against you, well, you have to weigh what's more important to you. I kept dancing hidden from everyone in my life while I was a student, but I was close with a couple of dancers that I met through this forum, and also had this forum to turn to, so I never felt super alone because of it. It is nicer now that I'm a touch more open about it, in the sense that there are a handful of non-dancers who know, but I do always worry about it getting around. I'm not sure what sort of public figure you intend on becoming, but the potential backlash really does vary.
With your fellow dancers, well, it's easy enough to just not become friends. I'd say the majority of dancers just show up, work, and leave, and there's usually a small cohort of dancers who like to party together, and then maybe a handful here and there who befriend one or two other dancers. As long as you keep to yourself, you don't have to worry about coming across as stuck up or rude for not wanting to be friends.
As for management, well, you definitely can't make them sign any contracts like that. I mean, you could certainly try, but they probably just wouldn't hire you or let you work if you unleashed that on them. Besides, the club will have some sort of record of you working there anyway (depending on the club, this could be as little as a photocopy of your ID or a signed contract with your legal name on it, or as much as your SSN), unless you're in a truly divey bar that overlooks all the laws.
I have no idea what your life plans are, but really think long and hard if jeopardizing them is worth whatever it is you want to get out of dancing. I notice you didn't mention you wanted to do it for money, so there are likely other options out there. If you decide the risk is worth it, dance as far as you can from where you live, make yourself look unrecognizable, keep to yourself in the club (including coming up with a full cover story for customers), and don't breath a word about it to anyone in your life.
Re: Stripper in disguise ??
I wear a clip-in ponytail at work. I'm not a public figure, but I do have a day job where most of my clients don't know about my past. (I am helping some industry people with their real estate purchases)
But like Shanna Dior said, if you are going to be a public figure, just stay out of the clubs. The people who work in this world don't have any reason to keep your info secret. Also, don't be surprised if your info becomes public just about the time you announce your mayoral campaign. Your competition will do whatever it takes to dig up dirt on you. Club managers/owners like money a lot and will sell information to the highest bidder.
Re: Stripper in disguise ??
I think you should go forward with the document to the management. Have your lawyer write up a non-disclosure agreement that binds them for like 75 years. That way when you're famous and they go to the tabloids with nekked pictures of you you can sue them and the tabloids that publish them.
I think a mask and a wig are good ideas too. I mean you're selling your body not your face. Maybe one of those presidents masks like in Point Break.
Other than that idk. But I'll be brainstorming for you the rest of the night cause I'm bored and have nothing better to do.
Re: Stripper in disguise ??
I'm sorry, but ... what. You want management to sign an NDA about you working there and you want to dance in a MASK? Girl. No. Dancing is clearly not for your lifestyle and that's okay. Just chill out and show off your body at the beach or something.
Re: Stripper in disguise ??
May not be good for you!
I used to be paranoid what manage to would do with my info too.
15-16 clubs later, I can assure you that 99.9999% of strip club managers are really too disorganized / would never out of rare professionalism / or are too drugged up ect. to even keep track of information let alone have the organizational skills to try to shake anyone down.
If you going to be making TV appearances anywhere close to your dancing ( within a year of your face being in a manager or customers head ), I'd just advise against it. Dancers do give up privacy somewhat in exchange for dancer $. Working with paranoia isn't fun at all.

I'm going to be a singer and I need a lot more money to take care of myself and persue my career.
Re: Stripper in disguise ??
Honestly, if you approach a manager with this idea that you need ultra high privacy, that's what may INSPIRE them to keep your info. Just slide under the radar like hundreds of girls have done if you end up dancing,
Re: Stripper in disguise ??
Unless you want to get a contract with Disney or are singing gospel music no one would really give a shit (besides your family) about your dancing past. Lady Gaga, Courtney Love, Pink, Trina, a few of the girls from the Pussycat dolls, and god knows who else were all former strippers. Hell, most pop singers today might as well be strippers with their outfit choices, sexual innuendo strip-club related videos... Also, I worked with a girl who at one time was a top 40 artist on the dance/EDM charts. She danced before and after the success of her hit song. What is it that is really driving you to work at a strip club? The money? You are going to have to really decide between the stigma that you think you would have if someone found out down the road that you used to dance or if you can come up with the money some other way to get your singing career off the ground.

And if this a legit post, get your tinfoil hat off and look at reality. Most strippers do not want to be anyone's friend. We're there to MAKE MONEY, NOT SOCIALIZE. Your idea of wearing a mask is stupid at best.
Get over yourself and your paranoid delusions. Strip at a club far away from home.

Yes go to audition and make the managers sign a document saying they'll keep your identity safe, wear a mask on the floor and in the dressing room, wear an elaborate wig, and sunglasses just in case.
Lol i'm sorry but you're 1 in a million in the strip club and nobody cares. No dancers will want to be your friends and the managers only care about you if you make them a lot of money. I thought you were going to say this public figure position would be in politics but as a singer? It's a well known fact that Lady Gaga was a stripper and nobody cares. And I think it would be pretty challenging to become the next Lady Gaga lol.
