It sucks when you're struggling with an empty room and someone you know is banking, believe me, I know, it has happened a LOT to me and it will happen to anyone who is a cam model.
I also know its nice at those times to go to the "camming sucks" thread because its a "yeah YEAH! SEE! IT'S NOT JUST ME!" thing, but it can also weigh on you if you have a really long dry spell. Issa's right about that, pretty soon its just "testing the waters" and popping on for an hour and deciding its slow and leaving. Then comes the, "ugh the thread says it's dead, maybe I'll just take then night off" and the POW! you're not making ANY money because you decided being in a slow room was worse than having to worry about your bills at the end of the month.
We all have dry spells, they seem like the end of the fucking world, they really do. I normally take that time (if god willing I have an audience for it) to ingratiate myself with the guys hanging out in my room. Fuck, my top tipper now is a guy who came in while I was doing dildo kareeoke to amuse myself in free chat. If they're not going to do a show, might as well get to know 'em better for when they have money/time/interest in paying.
And I'm NOT saying "don't be shitty" because god knows there's an audience for that too. If I get in a foul mood I don't log off, I put on some pvc and become cunty Kitcatt, which also works.
Just trust that you have an audience and stay the fuck on through the slow times, it'll be okay.
