A Whole Bunch of Questions
Hi! I'm new to this (haven't actually started yet) and I have a bunch of minor questions that I hope someone might be able to help with. I've decided camming is right for me because I want extra money for various pursuits and the regular company I've worked for in the past 5 years and plan to continue working for really couldn't care less about what I do on my own time (it's also a big company that I can transfer within wherever I move in the future). I also have a great relationship for the past 7 years that's completely open to this and okay with it. So, questions:
- I have some tattoos but not a lot/wouldn't be considered heavily tattooed. Is this good, bad, indifferent? Do guys generally like tattoos? They're all hidden when I'm wearing clothes, mostly on my torso. Would I want to say upfront that I have tattoos?
- Is pubic waxing recommended or do more girls shave? I've tried to get my armpits waxed before and it is not an experience I'd want to repeat (basically, it didn't work), so I'm very hesitant to get a Brazilian.
- I'm bisexual. Is it good, bad, or indifferent to mention this? Should I say I'm straight to avoid losing customers who are homophobic?
- I am interested in some mild fetish shows and from reading here I'm understanding that bodily fluids like pee are not okay on US sites? Could I do shows like pee desperation but never actually pee on camera?
- I'm probably going to do a "good girl/nerdy girl with a secret side" type persona because I wear glasses and cannot wear contacts. I can also do "hot young teacher/librarian" pretty well. Is this a good idea or should I try to avoid wearing my glasses?
If I think of anything else I'll post it... I've been stalking for a little bit and you all seem helpful but I didn't see these topics really discussed/find answers to these questions. So thank you in advance!
Re: A Whole Bunch of Questions
- Tattoos don't seem a detriment at all. Some guys like them, some don't. I'd say its not really relevant.
- Same as above. Some guys like hairy, some hairless. Both are a thing.
- On the internets, we're all bisexual :)
- Pee desperation is just fine. Peeing by yourself is usually ok, you just can't pee ON anyone for sure.
- Whatever makes you feel more confident.
Re: A Whole Bunch of Questions
Not all customers are the same. My first advice is to stop generalising and assuming that all like/dislike something. Some men like girls with nipples on their ribcage and some like girls with massive massive milkers. Some like girls who are natural and others prefer the made up look. Some like surgery, others don't. Some like blondes, trans, black, tall, tattood, hairy, smart, smoking... and others don't. You're doing fine.
- I have some tattoos but not a lot/wouldn't be considered heavily tattooed. Is this good, bad, indifferent? Do guys generally like tattoos? They're all hidden when I'm wearing clothes, mostly on my torso. Would I want to say upfront that I have tattoos?
There is no set answer. I have tattoos, about 6/7 and I neither lose nor gain significant customers from it.
- Is pubic waxing recommended or do more girls shave? I've tried to get my armpits waxed before and it is not an experience I'd want to repeat (basically, it didn't work), so I'm very hesitant to get a Brazilian.
I am hairy. I have hairy armpits and hairy pussy and a hairy ass. I gain most of my customers because of this. They like the hairy.
- I'm bisexual. Is it good, bad, or indifferent to mention this? Should I say I'm straight to avoid losing customers who are homophobic?
I am straight. I lose customers who don't like that I am not into women. You would not lose customers by being sexual.
- I am interested in some mild fetish shows and from reading here I'm understanding that bodily fluids like pee are not okay on US sites? Could I do shows like pee desperation but never actually pee on camera?
Depends on the site.
- I'm probably going to do a "good girl/nerdy girl with a secret side" type persona because I wear glasses and cannot wear contacts. I can also do "hot young teacher/librarian" pretty well. Is this a good idea or should I try to avoid wearing my glasses?
I wear glasses on my profile pics so guys know I have them. They will ask you to remove if they dont like or say nothing if they like
If I think of anything else I'll post it... I've been stalking for a little bit and you all seem helpful but I didn't see these topics really discussed/find answers to these questions. So thank you in advance!

Re: A Whole Bunch of Questions
You are way over thinking it all. Trust that those who are into your type & fetishes will become customers those who are not will move on. Expect lots of haters along with broke ass lovers who do nothing but compliments & expect the world in return.
There are many more things you should be concerned with as in figuring out which cam site works best for you-The hustle in order to get money out of men-fast enough computer & internet-good lighting.
Guys will want you to be a million different fantasies, you have to think about the boundaries that work for you & the sites' TOS. Until you are live & gone through all the trail & error it takes to make money, none of what you posted will matter.
Not everyone waxes, it isn't the only option. You can shave instead, but hairy can be a money making niche too. I have to wonder are you from the 90s & watched "Sex in the City" to think brazilian & waxing are the only way to remove hair?

Re: A Whole Bunch of Questions
Sam is so right! You're way over thinking it, and asking the wrong questions. She offers up some very good things you should consider.
For me, it was a matter of whether I wanted privacy, camming yet being off the public home pages or used within site advertising. For me, the answer was I did NOT. So I did my research on sites that allow opting out of being seen or publicly promoted.
It's been said before that this business is driven more by personality than it is by your 'type'. I'd have to agree with that. If you have an engaging personality, some showmanship, patience of a saint, you've got a pretty good chance of making it in this biz.
Camming is like a candy store of sex.
Some guys are very vanilla (straight sex), and it goes all the way to the total freakazoids!
There's something for everyone in camming.
Personally, I think it makes good business sense to be an actress who can go from one extreme to the next.
And camming success is more a marathon than a sprint. It takes time to get your 'brand' in place. Mine has been evolving for 7 years and has gone through MANY changes. Keep trying new things.
Finally, if you haven't already signed-up as a model, you really should check out KatyBoleyn (she replied earlier). Generally, I warn new models against going with an agency, saying you should sign-up on your own, directly with the site itself BUT I can honestly say that I wish I had signed-up with her for many reasons. The biggest 2 are the support she gives and the ability to be paid for your work DAILY instead of waiting up to 2 weeks for your check. I've inquired about signing-up with her, but I've been in business too long on my own, so I'd loose a lot if I tried to move now. But as a new model, I'd recommend her in a heartbeat! There's a thread about her agency and the models all rave about being with Katy =)
* I am NOT a paid endorser, I simply respect what Katy has goin' on in this industry!
Re: A Whole Bunch of Questions
Like everyone else has said already, the camming audience is a big pool and there's a taste/fetish for everything. The important question for you is: Can you tap in and capitalise on it?
Instead of being concerned with what the audience may or may not be into, try focusing on what you feel are your USPs (unique special properties). So if you are a nerdy with a secret slut side, then play that up. Forget other niches and types.
In any business (and this is a business), the most successful ones are those who concentrate on what they're good at and NOT the ones who are obsessed with being all things to all people.
Re: A Whole Bunch of Questions
All I can add is, camming is what you make it, not the other way around. You are the product so make yourself stand out with your own unique qualities and niches. Ever notice how cam sites that try to limit their models to a certain look ultimately fail? It's the same with how we market ourselves, be genuine and do stuff you enjoy and your customers will know they can only get that special combination of traits from you and no one else.
Re: A Whole Bunch of Questions
- I have some tattoos but not a lot/wouldn't be considered heavily tattooed. Is this good, bad, indifferent? Do guys generally like tattoos? They're all hidden when I'm wearing clothes, mostly on my torso. Would I want to say upfront that I have tattoos? ----- Depends on the customer. I don't have any tatt's and some guys love that, others are sad by that fact. A a site like SM you can check you have tatt's so customers know.
- Is pubic waxing recommended or do more girls shave? I've tried to get my armpits waxed before and it is not an experience I'd want to repeat (basically, it didn't work), so I'm very hesitant to get a Brazilian. --- I don't think it matters. I personally shave because waxing hurts like a bitch and I'm a semi pussy of pain.
- I'm bisexual. Is it good, bad, or indifferent to mention this? Should I say I'm straight to avoid losing customers who are homophobic? ---- I'm straight and no one really cares. I still have female clients and they love to try and bring me to the other side. I wouldn't lie since their is a client base no matter what you say you are.
- I am interested in some mild fetish shows and from reading here I'm understanding that bodily fluids like pee are not okay on US sites? Could I do shows like pee desperation but never actually pee on camera? ---- I wouldnt since its close enough for some sites to get annoyed. You can however switch it and make the customer pee for you in a dom type of show.
- I'm probably going to do a "good girl/nerdy girl with a secret side" type persona because I wear glasses and cannot wear contacts. I can also do "hot young teacher/librarian" pretty well. Is this a good idea or should I try to avoid wearing my glasses? ---- I wear glasses and contacts. A lot of customers love glasses and the librarian look. Sometimes they even ask me to put them on when Im not wearing them
Re: A Whole Bunch of Questions
There are tons of guys out there, and they all love different combinations of traits. Do what works best for yourself, and the guys that want what you've got will find you.
- Tattoos: Covering them up everyday will be a huge pain in the ass, not to mention that the makeup is expensive, and most guys are cool with them. I'd only worry about it if you have a highly identifying tattoo. I would, however, note on your profile that you have tattoos.
- Pubic hair: There is no wrong answer where guys are concerned, and hairy is coming back into style. Take into consideration your time, money, skin sensitivity, and what look you find most pleasing. Is waxing too expensive or painful? Don't do it. Does waxing or shaving irritate your skin? Don't do it (or consider an electric razor, which I've found is the only thing that works for my skin). Do you prefer bald, hairy, or something in between? Remember that you will spend more time looking at your pussy than any single guy, so do what makes you happy.
- Bisexual: Go with it. I feel like it's REALLY rare to come across guys that are so severely homophobic that they dislike sexy bi girls.
- Pee desperation: If you stick with just the desperation, I doubt that any site would take issue with it. Just be aware that guys that want to see pee desperation are probably going to push your limits HARD to get you to pee on cam.
- Glasses: Again, a matter of doing what works best for you. If you can't wear contacts, don't try to. Can you see and read your screen without your glasses? If not, whatever guys think about your glasses doesn't matter because you won't be able to do your job without them! There are plenty of guys that love glasses, have a glasses fetish, or just don't care one way or the other, so don't worry. On the other hand, I have never heard of anyone that loved seeing a girl squinting, lol!

Like Sam said above, you're worrying too much. Lots of guys think tattoos are sexy. There is/was a gorgeous MFC model known especially for being heavily tattooed, and guys loved her. If you have tattoos that you love, flaunt them. Don't hide them. I've had jobs where I had to cover my beautiful tattoos and had to remove my nose stud, and it pissed me off.
If you don't want to get waxed, then don't.
Lots of cam girls have it listed on their profiles that they are bisexual, and they do great.
I don't really know what to say about the pee thing.
As long as not wearing your glasses doesn't cause you any issues or any headaches, then yes, feel free to remove them for camming, if you'd like. Or just do the hot nerdy girl/hot teacher (or librarian) idea that you had. :)
And don't make the mistake that I made and go out spending money on a bunch of sexy lingerie/outfits that you'll hardly wear (or that you'll only be wearing for a couple minutes in private). Lol.
Re: A Whole Bunch of Questions
As others have said, I wouldn't worry about waxing if ur hesitant. Honestly, I wax because it's a personal preference and I'd probably make more $$$ with a hairy pussy! Seems very popular, at least on SM. I think tattoos are a good icebreaker, lots of guys mention my tattoos and/or septum piercing from seeing them in my photos and some guys will ask to see them, good chance to draw potential custies in and one of the few requests I'll do for free. I don't think u would get in trouble for doing a pee desperation show, it says no play w/ bodily fluids like blood, urine, etc so as long as none of those show on cam or u aren't obviously actually peeing u should be fine (this is based on SM rules but I think many sites follow that same rule). I list myself as bisexual on my profile but I think unless ur doing shows w/ another girl, nobody really cares, I've actually never been asked my sexual orientation.
