omg..Has anyone else had this problem after using sea sponge tampons?!
So before y'all go in on me I know this question may seem as if I have no knowledge of female anatomy, but I swear I do! I'm jus really stumped. I've been using sea sponge tampons for about two months now, because they are the only thing I feel comfortable wearing while camming and I have no desire to spend $$ on tampons when I already have sponges. But lately I've been having terrible stress incontinence, meaning when I laugh too hard, cough, etc I piss myself! I have never ever ever had this problem until recently and I can't think of any other cause. Nothing else regarding my pussy has changed. This happens when I'm not on my period too (or at least it has for the past couple weeks) but seems to be exacerbated when I'm wearing the sponge. the last straw was just now, I peed myself when I coughed and then after taking off my panties I peed a little on my couch too! Wtfff...lol this is the worst. I know kegels will help but do y'all think the sponge could be somehow weakening my pelvic muscles or making it harder to clench them?
Re: omg..Has anyone else had this problem after using sea sponge tampons?!
I have no idea. I'm not comfortable with using any of those feminine products that have to be inserted...especially after that time I got an Instead cup in me and had to go to the E.R. to have it removed. LOL.
Maybe some of the other ladies here have something helpful to add?

Re: omg..Has anyone else had this problem after using sea sponge tampons?!
I personally do not have that problem.
I did have a similiar problem when I would be doing too many squirt shows. but that stopped once I would be doing kegeals.
So definitely see a Gyno and see what they say.
Re: omg..Has anyone else had this problem after using sea sponge tampons?!
BrownFox- lol, thats terrible. Ive had similar *incidents* w/ the sponge but luckily I always manage to get it out. I've had my yearly exam at PP fairly recently (before this started happening) and I don't have health insurance, so I think I'm gonna try the kegel route and if that doesn't work go in for an exam.
Re: omg..Has anyone else had this problem after using sea sponge tampons?!
I've used then before and never had that problem. So sorry you are! I'd see an on/gyn for peace of mind And do kegels.
Re: omg..Has anyone else had this problem after using sea sponge tampons?!
Thanks for the sympathy, julia. And to all concerned, i'm likely doing kegels as u are reading this. Lol!
Re: omg..Has anyone else had this problem after using sea sponge tampons?!
Sounds like the sponges might be irritating your urethra. I don't get them when I use sponges but I do get urethral irritation with non-organic, synthetic pads. Also, maybe check your technique of inserting the sponges, are you by any chance pushing against your urethra? You might just have a mild UTI. The doc will probably check for that. If you do have an infection, try D-mannose powder...it is much better than anti-biotics and all natural. You can get it from swansonvitamins.com. The Now brand is good and has the best pricing.
Re: omg..Has anyone else had this problem after using sea sponge tampons?!
Hyori, seems like u kinda get what i'm saying. don't wanna sound crazy but I do feel like the way the sponge sits inside me may be adding an undetectable pressure to my bladder? I'm used to tampons which are much more slender and "hard"..because I don't bleed much, it's pretty...fluffy in there. So maybe my muscles are struggling to clench as they usually do? I noticed when I had literally JUST peed, I took my sponge out and it made me pee (a tiny bit) instantly. Idk. I have had UTIs in the past and there was always an associated burning pain and discomfort, which I don't have, but maybe it's milder than I'm used to? I'll probably try to get into PP soon for a check-up.
Re: omg..Has anyone else had this problem after using sea sponge tampons?!
^^ now that you say that yes, I do recall that when the sponge gets really full it expands to the point where it makes me feel like peeing. I actually switched to the FemmyCycle menstrual cup because the sponges kept getting stuck way up inside me and it would be an hour of doing circus contortionist maneuvers to get the sponge out.
Re: omg..Has anyone else had this problem after using sea sponge tampons?!
I think that if you're having stress incontinence, the sponge will definitely exacerbate it while you're wearing one, because it does put some pressure on your bladder. I've noticed that when wearing one. But I think there are a few more likely possibilities for what's causing the problem in the first place. You say that nothing has changed with your pussy except the sponges, but you also started camming two months ago, and that can be a pretty big change for your nether regions!
Some things you might want to consider:
1) You're using a dildo a lot more than usual, and it may have jostled your urinary tract too much. It would likely have gotten worse recently, because as you've been camming longer, you've probably been getting more shows and doing more dildoing. If I have a lot of sex with a well endowed gentleman, my bladder sometimes feels a little "off" for awhile afterward, so I think it's a reasonable possibility. If you've managed to irritate your urethra, I'd guess it was from a dildo, rather than a sponge that just sits there and doesn't pound anything.
2) If you've recently started squirting or you're doing more squirting on cam than you would do in daily life, maybe that can cause issues. I find that squirting requires me to sort of relax down there and not worry about the sensation that you need to pee. Perhaps if you've been training yourself to "let go," your muscles are getting lazy. If so, I think the kegels should work.
3) You've got a lot more lube and fluids going on down there than you're used to. You could have gotten a bit of something up your urethra, causing a mild UTI. It might be just bad enough to cause bladder retention issues, but not serious enough to cause you a lot of pain.
4) All the pussy activity might have given you an infection somewhere in your pelvic region (vaginal, uterine, etc). That could have been caused by almost anything, including germs carried on your dildo, your fingers, a slight error with anal play, or the sponges. I don't have any clue about specific possibilities, but if there's inflammation caused by an infection, that could probably affect your urinary tract, too.
Of course, it may be the sponges, too, but that wouldn't have been my first guess. I hope you figure it out and feel better soon!

Thanks for such a thoughtful reply. I did think about the possibility that using a dildo more often could be causing it as well. I don't actually use my dildo all that much on cam but I'm sure it's still a possibility since I never really used one before I started camming and I also have sex almost everyday. I actually can squirt but its hard and I haven't in a long time, so probably not that. I really hope its a UTI and not gonna be a chronic problem for me cuz its extremely frustrating. I think I might try that d-mannose powder Hyori mentioned.
Re: omg..Has anyone else had this problem after using sea sponge tampons?!
once i forgot one inside for a WEEK. i took bath so sponge ofc absorbed it. i had that feel too like some water comes out of me, when i pulled it out smelll wasssss very bad.
Re: omg..Has anyone else had this problem after using sea sponge tampons?!
I've had this happen before -however mine appears to not be linked to menstrual, uterine or sponge use at all. I've had my little "surprises" happen during coughing fits, orgasms or vomiting (many times). I've noticed it seems to be a core thing or when my abdominals are bearing down or "spasming". But then again I also have a very small active bladder. I spend alot of time hitting the bathroom. So I feel ya
Re: omg..Has anyone else had this problem after using sea sponge tampons?!
I'm battling the kidney infection from hell currently, so I know how much feeling like you're going to pee yourself (or actually doing so) sucks. Definitely worth giving kegels a try. I do them in the car every time I see a red light or stop sign. Have you tried any products like "go less"? Might be worth a shot to see if it helps. Oh and if you decide to keep using sponges, maybe cut them in half and see if that helps.
Re: omg..Has anyone else had this problem after using sea sponge tampons?!
This happens to me actually, when I use regular tampons. It is the pressure it makes in there, for sure.
I'm using the cup now, and it doesn't happen anymore, although still is difficult to do Penetration shows lol

If this happens when you're not wearing the sponge, maybe take a break from the hitachi for a week or two.
Hmm. I feel like the dryness of the sponge is what could be putting pressure on my bladder, tho. I have a really light flow. Plus what's coming out is definitely definitely pee, which couldn't be getting released from the sponge.
I am leaning more toward a possible uti, but I hope y'all will be happy to know I actually didn't pee myself at all today! Lol. It was also my 1st day not wearing the sponge in a week or so..... I kno it's unlikely to be the sole cause but it does make me wonder.
Re: omg..Has anyone else had this problem after using sea sponge tampons?!
Glad you're feeling better.
Reading your post....Welcome to my world. All day, everyday.
Menopause..it's just part of it.
I hope when u get there, there's a cure for it.
Re: omg..Has anyone else had this problem after using sea sponge tampons?!
After reading this thread, with no help to give, I was watching daytime TV and saw an ad for what looks like a tampon, but it's designed to prevent incontinence in women. So I guess the doctors have figured out that pressure from the vagina can press against the urethra (or?) so it slows loss of urine. I don't know how using a sponge would CAUSE leakage. Your UTI theory sound plausible.
Re: omg..Has anyone else had this problem after using sea sponge tampons?!
I get exactly what you're talking about. It happens with the sponge sometimes if I use a large one, and sometimes larger tampons too. I feel the pressure to pee but can rarely get it all out. I always assumed it was just the pressure of the sponge/tampon on the urethra. And as far as peeing as soon as pulling it out, like I said, I can rarely get it all out when I pee with it in, probably because, even though it's putting pressure on the urethra, it's putting enough to the point of "pinching it off" a bit, so the second that hold is released when you pull it out, the rest of the pee can freely flow out.
Try using a smaller size. Especially if your flow is light, you could be using one that's too big. Trim it down a bit and see if it helps relieve some of the pressure.
