masks and roleplay
I'm new to the whole camming thing!(so let me apologize beforehand if these are stupid questions)
I've noticed a lot of cam sites don't let you "hide" your face. Which isn't a problem for the most part... but i'm really into cosplay and feel super sexy when i have a masquerade mask or mask with ears on(i may have a mask fetish). It also really helps me get into a sexy character. Would i be able to use them in private shows or they just aren't allowed to be used at all?
ps. if they aren't allowed to be used at all, that's no problem just curious
p.s.s one of he sites i was told you weren't allowed to use masks is mfc
sorry again if its a stupid question

Re: masks and roleplay
Each site has different rules, you would need to consult the sites terms of services and possibly message their support for clarification

Re: masks and roleplay
Thank you! Didn't know if it was a common thing among sites or just specific ones. I'll ask the sites directly :)

Re: masks and roleplay
I'm going to rate this as "not a stupid question," simply because you aren't asking anything along the lines of, "Can I wear a mask so that no one will ever be able to prove that I was a cam model?"
The deal with masks not being allowed is that the site employees need to be able to reasonably confirm that the person streaming is the person that provided their ID for age verification. If you wear a mask the entire time, they can't be reasonably sure that the person performing is you and not some 16 year old with a similar body type. So at some point during each and every time you stream, you need to show your face.
If you want to be completely safe, check the TOS and performer rules on every site you work, and if there's any ambiguity, contact them to find out the rules. Then, you know, follow whatever the rules are.
If you want my personal *guess*, I'd say that you should always show your face in public chat, but you're probably ok to wear a mask in private. A lot of website staff tend to shoot first and ask questions later, so they might give you an infraction if they see you wearing a mask in public, even if you can argue that you showed your face earlier and the video will show that you had no opportunity to switch places with a 16 year old. But again, that is purely conjecture on my part.
Now for the other consideration... your viewers. The general premise and appeal of cam models is that the guy can search for a model he likes, and then ask her to act out his specific fantasy. In other words, most of us spend most of our time doing what the customers think is sexy, not what we enjoy the most or what makes us feel the sexiest. If you want to be a niche performer who only does cosplay or other things that you like, you are more than welcome to do that - you set your own limits, and no one has the right to push you beyond your limits. However, that means that you will have to work very hard to connect with the limited number of customers that are into the same things you are. On the other hand, if you want to appeal to a wider audience, you will need to cater to more mainstream interests. I hate to break it to you, but most guys would object to you wearing a mask because guys love seeing your facial expressions, whether you're chatting or cumming.
I'm not trying to tell you to do things one way or the other, but I just want you to consider that the rules about masks may be a moot issue if you never encounter a guy who wants to see you wearing one.

Re: masks and roleplay
The cosplay angle could work really well on sites such as clips4sale though;)

Re: masks and roleplay
^Seriously, blindfold, sleepmasks, gas masks. I think those Hentai(spelling?) suits cover the face.
