This used to be Corey's Closet, Maximum Exposure, and a few over things. Anyone ever work there since they got new management? (I guess it was last year) I'm hoping to audition there in the next week or two, and would love to hear more about it!

It was Capital Hideaway right before they changed it to Candy House Cabaret. I worked there a few years ago and it has always been "the best kept secret" in the area. It's in a really remote location, not in the middle of nowhere like a lot of people say, but its out there. Bring your GPS. It has always had a steady stream of loyal regulars who are mostly local to that area. A lot of country men, some city men from the nearby city of Troy. We also got a lot of men who would travel from Massachussetts or Vermont, which are not too far away.
Some of the customers we got had been coming there for the past 20+ years, it had quite a loyal following. Regardless of all its changes over the past few years, their solid customer base seems pretty consistent. You just have to have good hustling skills and work on a good night (it goes without saying). In addition to the regulars, it attracted a lot of party crowds as well. We often got bachelor parties and young college guys coming in. I know they still do a lot of marketing and promotions according to their Facebook page, so I guarantee you there will still be lots of party-going men stopping in.
I cant really speak for any other details because again, I dont know all of the changes that have occured. But I do know for a fact that it is under all new management and they got rid of a lot of their former staff from when I worked there...which is a good thing, because there were a lot of less than desireables back then lol. If they are not there anymore, and their business policies are still the same, then the place has got to be close to perfect! It was honest of god the best place to work in the whole capital district for so many years. It was all nude, with lenient rules, full nude VIP dances that you got a really good cut out of in addition to tips, and the other dancers were easy to work with. They had good customers, and a relaxed, easygoing and fun atmosphere. They remodeled the place inside and it looked great. From looking at their Facebook page, it still looks really good and business there seems to be doing good. It is the capital district and there really isn't a lot of money making potential, but this place was always where the most money making potential was at. The other nearby clubs are terrible, either no money, or lots of drama and bullshit. Definitely stop in and try it out, let us know how it is now. I'm curious myself. I hope all my info helped, sorry it wasn't the most up to date!
Thank you! That does help, and makes me feel better about my decision to try it out.
I did work there when it was Maximum Exposure about 10 years ago. I enjoyed it enough, was an older lady who was the manager. The only drawback I see is that they very recently changed to only being open 3 nights a week and shorter hours (7 to 3 it seems), so that has me worried it's not so busy? Also, looks like only very few dancers are there from what I can see on social media, but maybe there are more who are on the private side. They seem to be a different style than myself but I'll probably still audition. I will def report back here after I go. Thanks again!
No problem! They are an exclusive VIP club, when I worked there they only offered private VIP dances. They dont do "bar dances" or dances out on the floor. That is why the money making potential there is good and everything is very cut and dried. Men specifically go there to get VIP dances. They do have cheaper $20 couch dances that are done downstairs in these tiny little rooms, but the VIPs are the main attraction. My guess is that they cut back on business hours to make it even more exclusive, so it is easier for customers to meet with their favorite girls on only the 3 nights they are open. Also when I worked there, girls were required to work a minimum 3 day a week shift anyway. There were only a few girls on staff with me when I worked there and its mainly because of its location, nothing else. They think its too out there for them to work at, so they work at more centrally located clubs (they are missing out but I wasn't complaining, more money for me! :D
Where is it?
Oh my! I've never actually done any real VIP room things, just couch dances in private areas for I think 15 minutes. That will be intimidating for a little while. I live pretty close to it, so I don't mind how out of the way it is. It's beautiful out there!
An update for Candy House Cabaret is much needed! It maybe changed owners. Or, management. If anyone has any updates on this club, it would be much appreciated. I called the club in January. And a man who didn't give me his name but he said he was the owner, not too friendly told me to text a Boston based house mom pics. Needless to say, this is a strange occurrence in Upstate NY. (To be directed to someone in Boston). So updates of this club are needed!
Omg really?? I wonder who the new owner is? When I worked there it was this younger guy from Jersey named Nick (who was kind of a douche) and the manager was Hector. Nick was never around though. Wow, that was incredibly unprofessional!
Edited ****
Yeah Hector was a good manager when I worked there. He would have his occasional mood swings lol but he was good. I don't recall Nick sounding like a juice head but he definitely sounded douchey and stuck up. That is so strange how they have a Boston based house mom, wtf?? I would definitely like to know who the new managers are and all the new stuff they have going on.
I was directed to their website from craigslist, saw it randomly on there that they were looking for dancers a few months back. Sent photos with my basic info (name and phone number) on the site and never heard back at that time. Only talked to someone on Facebook chat once, they just said "come on in and audition!"
It was Corey's mom (I guess Corey was the owner officially for awhile) when I was there briefly, who was about 60 I'd say. She was awesome! Made sure we were all taken care of and that no one disrespected any of us. She gave me a lot of confidence when I was sooo nervous. Just hope that the new owners didn't change too much in terms of treatment of dancers.
Hey guys! So me and a guy friend decided to go to CHC tonight to check it out. We're gonna go as customers just to get a feel for the place and see all the changes that have occurred since it was Capital Hideaway. When I get back home tonight I will let you all know how it went! :)
*UPDATE*: I just got back from the club and really enjoyed it. Girls were very nice and the place looked good inside. The owner and manager seemed nice and were very friendly (they are new, just bought the place and its all new owner/staff/manager). I asked to fill out an application but was told I could start working tonight (unfortunately I didn't have an outfit so I was unable to). But I'm supposed to start working there this week so I will continue to update you all on everything. I was told to send a pic to the house mom (as mentioned earlier) and that she will give me the final okay to start working there. I just sent in a pic of my body in a bikini without showing my face. So we'll see how that goes! Wish me luck :)
*2nd Update**: I got the job! House mom contacted me and was very nice. I'm all set to work during the week so I'll let you know how it is :)
Great! Thanks! Good luck!
Thank you!
I'm curious if it still has a cool vibe.
It had a cool vibe when I visited there. Everyone was laid back and nice and the girls were fun. The place looked good too
Update** The place is awesome!! I loved it. Nice people, good customers, good business model and good money. It's not much different from when it was Capital Hieaway, but it's even better! It's $100 for 15 minutes in the VIP and $150 for half an hour, and you get half of the dance price. They also have $20 per song lap dances. It's still all nude, no alcohol. No extras, but touching is allowed and you can grind all you want. Plus you get naked in the VIPs. Rules are still pretty lenient. I had a good night money wise. No house fees either, just tip outs and you can tip whatever you feel like. I would recommend this place if you happen to be in Albany and want to make decent money!
