You should try logging on to SM without using the new SMbroadcaster.
Directly on the website or using the adobe flash media encorder.
The flash media encorder has different file types based on your computer settings download them all. and see which one works for your settings
Unfortunately, your processor is too weak to support SM's requirements for broadcasting with the encoder. Like Minnie suggests, don't use the encoder at all and instead use the other resolutions you see in the drop down options in settings. You can save up to get a i7 dual core computer with 8gb ram minimum. Some girls have gotten away with i5, but I assume that's because they really loaded up on ram and maybe have a SSD drive to help things out.
Thank you guys, that honestly helps quite a bit.
I have a question about that, the other options in the drop down menu, how do I get it to use my logitech cam instead of the built in one? I was looking for.options in the settings but may have over looked something.
Again thank you guys, may not be the most ideal answer, since I had talked myself out of getting a new laptop recently, but at least it's some answers!!
I see u have windows 10 there so in the chat window where u see urself on camera u do right click exactly on the picture and a small window opens up, u go on Camera tab and pick ur other camera.
There is a drop down menu to select your mic and select your webcam, you can practice it using www.testmycam.com
Yeah your processor looks like it barely run a potato. You want at least an i5 processor.
Well....new pc it is. It's satisfying to know wtf it is, even if it's on my end. Now I can 'fix' it.
Thank you ladies again
It's an expensive bit of kit to upgrade but once you do you will be laughing!
I didn't look at her specs, but read the comments that followed, and I want to say something:
An i7 is not necessarily better than an i5 or i3 for camming. It depends on the exact model number and generation of the processor. There are plenty of i3 desktop cpu's that will blow i7's away.
A cheap desktop computer is almost always a better investment than an expensive laptop. Just make sure that the motherboard supports better processors.
Laptops are a waste of money, unless you're comfortable doing your work at Starbucks, which I'm not!!
mobile technology is catching up, but i agree, desktop processors are still superior. TBH though if the op (no offence op) thought a celeron was ok then i think talking about motherboards and chipsets etc is going to just confuse the issue further
^^ Desktops are superior yes. However, give it a couple more years and the differences between all devices will disappear.
Mobile i7 processors are completely different from desktop i7 processors. If you really want a notebook i7 it is best to get a gaming one since it will be the least compromised in general.
No notebook i3 will be worth camming with since you cannot overclock them unless you have some sort of external water cooling set up that will cost more than the notebook itself.
As for an i3 desktop being comparable to the i7? Sure if you overclock and have integrated video it will perform fine for gaming. Plus you also void the warranty but who cares since they are so cheap. They won't last as long either but again, who cares. No need to pound the pussy for a few hundred more to get an i7, excellent!
Yes, OP, there are several different kinds of i7 processors so you also need to know how they work to get the best bang for your buck. It's all about cores, chipsets etc. When you do end up getting a new computer, let us know the specs and we'll help you out.
Plus, I just wanted to add, if you are a splitcammer, there is no way a dual core cpu can handle the demands of multitasking more than 2-3 sites without compromising the quality of the stream. So, an i3 won't cut it since they are only dual core at best. But, I suppose building 2 i3, overclocked desktops to split with is possible, I wonder if it would still be cheaper to do that rather than have 1 kickass desktop. Nope.
I suggest buy a Logitech C920 , open it carefully , and test with that,
might be the webcam....?
then return the cam, at least you know its not that....or maybe it is?
It's definitely the laptop, cel celeron processors are for family laptops. Surfing the web, typing letters etc, you can stream tv etc online but it might get a bit flustered. Anytjing more and it will get out of breath and overheat and basically not work.
If you want to get super wet over cpu stats then the Intel Ark app is very sexual. Audri I might have to get a custom clip of you reading out stats one day.... <3
Eta: Ark tells me the n2830 was from q1 2014 so already an old processor
You can have a bitchin' web cam, but if your processor is dildos, it isn't going to do much good.
I found a really good analogy about pc parts relating to human body parts, when I'm actually awake I will try and dig it out.
You can take the girl out of IT sales....
I agree, that's why I didn't get into OP's specs. I was just saying in general that i7 verses i3 doesn't mean much because of the higher number. There are lots of good i3's out there, certainly good enough to cam with.
I've got 2 i3 laptops built in 2010 that I purchased used and have cammed with successfully for thousands of hours. Definitely great investments. No overclocking or additional cooling necessary.
As a rule, whether Intel or AMD, you wouldn't want anything less than a dual core processor running at less than 2ghz. And obviously more is better, especially for splitcamming or if you want to run Skype or Youtube while you work. Or use 2 cheap used computers at the same time, as I do.
The camera is also critical. The Logitech C920 has a built in Digital Signal Processor, while other cams make the CPU of the computer do the work. If your cam doesn't have a built in DSP, you're going to need more CPU to compensate.
Most of the cam sites post their minimum hardware requirements. Print them out and take them shopping. And unless you require a laptop, you'll get much more bang for your buck with a desktop.
A year ago a used i3 laptop capable of camming was $200, and a new desktop with better specs, plus monitor, was about $200.
Hyori is maybe right. Cell phones already have the power of laptops people were camming on 10 years ago. The thing is, is that the cam site encoders will keep using more and more resources. When a girl can cam using a $50 Chinese cell phone in a closet in Myanmar, price per minute will plummet for most of us. I suggest all of us learn IT or plumbing now in our free time.
This is so insulting. Seriously. To bring up China? Really? Whatever, keep on camming with your $200 set up and keep China out of it, most likely all of your components were built by a suicidal child anyway so try being a little more respectful and appreciative of the fact that technology keeps on advancing, regardless.
To think that camming will stay exactly the same way as it is today is illogical. With the advent of of VR technology and men with their perversity/fetishes and demand for more interactive and realistic sexual experiences, we are going to need better, faster and more expensive computers to run the new gadgets. The most successful cam girls will know exactly how to leverage themselves with the right equipment and timing. Good luck.

Here's what specs Streamate recommends. Looks like you need a quad core to run in HD720. :/
Looks like I'm gonna have to upgrade myself. UGH! I wish I knew more about computers and I could have gotten the right one the 1st time. Just got this one in September and I'd been having trouble with the broadcaster and the encoder. It was me the whole time. Lame!
U could also have a decent processor and if u don't have the ram it really doesn't matter. I sat with a tech in best buy since my tablet was dead and had him Google how many ghz each i6, i3, i5, blah blah blah was because they don't want to tell u on the sticker.... it was annoying, but I wanted the best deal for my money so I made him do it. They don't want to do that, then maybe they should post the ghz. Hate best buy....at least mine.
And just to say, the 12 gigs of ram and 3.5 ghz processor only ran about 600 dollars for me. Desktops are sooooo much cheaper.
Just don't want u guys to think u need to spend 1500 to cam. There are decent computers that fit a budget well.
A small notice for those wishing to "future proof" on their next purchases, especially for CPU's (and considering Streamate).
The 6th generation i7 processors have additional encoding on the chipset to handle the new 3d and next gen smartcams. To shop for this, you need to look for the 4 digit code after the processor number. Note this is NOT a hard requirement, you may be able to get away with previous versions - you just won't have the native encoding that enables all the new stuff to work smoothly.
For example: i7-6700k, the "6" is the generation number, you want that to be 6 or over. If you're serious about your camming, avoid laptops (even "gaming laptops") like the plague.
---
The next big leap is the USB 3.0 requirement. 3.0 is 5-10x faster than 2.0, and provides more intrinsic device power. For the new models of cams coming out, this is a requirement. You can go about this 2 different ways. The first, if you have the money to spend, is to get a motherboard or machine with the above processor and USB 3.0 native. The second is that you can get an expansion card for $15-30 that will give you up to 4 USB 3.0 ports on your older computer.
----
The next hard requirement will be Windows 10. If you haven't made the upgrade already, do so ASAP. Before upgrading, be sure to get 1 of several privacy guides and follow those while you install, you'll need to disable some things during install and afterwards (takes 10-15 minutes to "privatize" your computer). The drivers for the newer cameras will only be Windows 10 native.
-----
Finally, for Streamate at least, a hard-wired connection is an absolute must. Wifi will be sporadic and will cause lockups with their new encoder during configuration. This issue will only get worse as they keep going.
Ty for letting us know about all these future plans of SM Katy, i wish they would inform us about these things themselves, pls tell them they lack communication skills big time & for an independent cam girl like myself is sometimes difficult to 'get the hand' on these pieces of valuable info, maybe they inform studios, companies like urs but they did not inform me, if i was not on this forum to read what people say in here i would have been lost and buried by now.
