Using 2 cams for split camming
Just a quick question. I know about splitcam software but does using 2 webcams work just as well.
I use a c920 for SM but have an old c310 which is 720p and 30fps.
Does using 2 cams place less load on the cpu. The c920 uses encoding which has to be decoded and re encoded but the c310 doesnt use encoding so the cpu only has to encode.
Its just a random throw it out there question. As I dont fancy an 8hr shift just sitting in an empty room waiting

Re: Using 2 cams for split camming
I would think that using 2 different cams would be more resource intensive than just one cam with split software.
x264 is encoded via cpu so having just one camera, especially the c920 which does some of the work would be the least cpu load.
Adding on the c310 would put the x264 load on the cpu plus, the c920.
If you're on SM, you would need the SM Broadcaster/FMLE for each camera.

Re: Using 2 cams for split camming
The SM encoder doesnt use the direct x264. The cpu decodes it and re-encodes it. I noticed with trying the calibrate on the SM encoder. It works harder with the c920. And twitch streamers have noticed it as well. It was just a throw it out there thing. The c310 calibrates at 1280x720p high. At 20% the c920 1280x720 best. At 35%.
If cams.com has the traffic I am going to have to get one of them sound activated toys. Had a look today and seams to work like Streamate without so many restrictions.

Re: Using 2 cams for split camming
I sometimes use two cameras. It works out okay but it does use more resources but nothing to major. If you have a system that can support then go for it. But I wouldn't recommend using two encoders at the same time. ONly do it for SM. But then again if you think you can make more money on Cams then use the encoder there. And then just use the HD Settings for SM. Orrr you can use Verysoft with the encoder for Cams and HD settings on SM with only one cam! It's all about your priorities I think.

Re: Using 2 cams for split camming
Its more a throw it against the wall and see what sticks sort of thing. Its a shame we cant get the server address out of the encoders or we could connect the cam to the stream

Re: Using 2 cams for split camming
I use two logitech cams.C920 and BCC950.One for smb ,one for aw.Less cpu than using verysoft splitter with just one cam.But I prefer BCC so I always end up using verysoft.I saved 10% by deactivating my antivirus while working so I`m good both ways now.
-
Re: Using 2 cams for split camming
^^ Yes, the BCC950 is like using a video capture card that takes the load off the cpu entirely.
-
Re: Using 2 cams for split camming
I've been using 2 cams for about 3 years now with and without verysoft. I haven't used my verysoft in about a year and it works just fine for me.

Re: Using 2 cams for split camming
Yes it can be down I've had up to 4 webcams in my desktop at once. for voyueur cams on rude.com
I generally use one cam as a microphone and the other just for video.
You might need to add more USB bandwidth to keep up with the demand. You would get a USB booster extension cable.

Re: Using 2 cams for split camming
Its worth a look. Managed to ask parents to look after the little one under the guise of I got a work from home customer service job. 16hrs a week. So I will have one day of 8hrs. As those type of jobs in the UK always have 1 day a week at the weekend. Hubbie crafted a worryingly decent email from Amazon Kindle fire support team. I just have to make sure I have traffic to convert. He networked the pcs so I can do shows and convert to video as soon as a show has finished for the high tippers to make it easier and less time consuming. I under stand that cams record everything anyway so thats one less thing to have to record and convert.
The motherboard has usb3. And webcams are USB 2. So the ports are underperformed with the webcam anyway.
Just cant wait to get back on now after period. Just have 3 months until hubbie goes back to Dr and given all clear on his heart.

Re: Using 2 cams for split camming
Selena, I use 2 cams for splitting ( in the same time, of course)
one for SM with SM broadcaster and one for another site.
Im really not good with the tech aspect of it but if you have decent pc with decent ram, I think you should be ok.
I have a Icore 5 and 12 GB

Re: Using 2 cams for split camming
Yeah. I am just saving for a interactive toy if I am going to try cams as a second site. the cpu I got is a amd athlon x4 860k oc to 4.7gig. With 16gb. the SM broadcast is only 35% of the cpu. so this should be fine. In tests he has done there is no way the smbroadcast is using the encoded feed direct from the c920. The cpu is literally decoding and re encoding it to stream.
Hubbie is going to build a amd fx 8370 8 core to oc to 5gig if I have a decent month the fx9590 only clocks to 5.3gig so not worth the extra £100 for something he can watercool and still save money. On the cost of the 9590. So should still get 4k no probs.
Even the fx6000 series clock high on all 6 cores he says to 5gig with the right cooler. And those chips are under $80
Using 2 cams should be less on the cpu than splitcam software from the tests he has been doing. As the one cam has no encoder the other does. Both calibrate to 1280x720p. Just 10% different cpu load.
# he is boring me when I ask him for this stuff.

Re: Using 2 cams for split camming
Does anyone splitcam on two sites with ONE webcam, and the second you're buzzed for private on Site A, you immediately click the 'stop broadcasting' button on Site B? Would it help to do it that way?

Re: Using 2 cams for split camming
^^^ That's how u supposed to splitcam using just one cam Foxy if say, u cam on two private based sites like SM, AW, IML, IFR, any combination of these.
But people want sometimes to use 2 cams for various reasons (resource consumption for 2nd webcam vs splitcam software or if they want to turn a camera up/away when in pvt on one of the sites, etc.
Is this what u wanted to know or i miss the question lol? xx
Btw, i am doing this and used to, forgot to answer the question lol. So Yes.

No, I know what splitcamming is. I used to do it with ImLive and AdultWork. But I'm seeing some people on here say that they use 2 OR MORE webcams, and I was wondering if that's the most recommended way to splitcam now? Just wondering if I actually need to go spend more money on a $65 Logitech webcam or not. Lol. From what I've read in other posts, it sounds like a lot of ladies on here splitcam on several sites. If I start splitcamming again, it will most likely just be two sites...ImLive and Cams, probably (considering AdultWork, but leaning more towards Cam). I don't think AW is a Katy Boleyn daily pay option anyway.
Thanks for responding, Kat! :)

Re: Using 2 cams for split camming
Then u dont need a 2nd cam Foxy :)
The ladies here split on more than 2 sites at once, say one cam for 2 sites PLUS another cam for one site or other 2 sites, we talking about a higher level of splitcamming using more pc's, laptops, cams, etc.
pls come to verified, i asked u something in there xx

Re: Using 2 cams for split camming
Kat is right software can do the job of 2 webcams. I was literally just throwing the idea against the wall to see what sticks.
I cant just stay on SM. Need to up my game. But I dont want to run my pc at 90-100% useage. hubbie has runs tests as we had an old c310 laying around and it can do 720p 30fps.
However girls on cams.com use interactive toys so I need one of them if I am to make anything on cams I guess.

Re: Using 2 cams for split camming
Hi Selena, u signed up with cams.com yet? I would test the site before investing into new toys, cams was not working well for me years ago plus i dont like many of their features there. I too am not sure what sites to use anymore to make as much of profit using this machine and the equipment i have considering i have a limited time am able to be on cam due to health issues.
-
Re: Using 2 cams for split camming
Hi Kat
I havent signed up yet. They have a 2HR turnaround time for sign up. I can make some comparison to SM with it. Live tips is like gold show and private and peeping.
I found one site where everything was on display but it was a whitelabel for bonga. I am trying to keep to sites which have multiple sites linked to them. Pornhub with Streamate adult friend finder with cams. That sort of thing. Summer is coming and worried traffic will die even more as people spend more time out.
Hope your OK hunnie. Your as we say in the UK the entire encyclopedia on camming xx

Re: Using 2 cams for split camming
Doing good ty, just taking the weekend off, need time off simply.
I have/had accounts on all cam sites that accepted me on their platforms but the point is, reviving old accounts is more difficult than starting new on a cam site, that's why i signed up with bonga, it is new to me, still wish the fees per min for pvt shows there were higher & the clientele 'wealthier'.
I know i am picky lol, is normal after being in the business for this long, for me it has to be 'the highest income made in the shortest period of time am able to be on cam" kind of a deal lol.
I think for you ImLive site could work or even cams but u better try these sites before making investments in new toys or gadgets.
In theory everything can work but in practice u go there and realize things are just different than expected.
Considering ur willingness for trying all sorts of hustle i think u can work the 'Gold Show style' sites, means perform for tips same as taking privates, u can do them both, i just get angry when i am in the position to ask these guys for money so i can make a GS goal, it would feel for me like i am at the bazar with my tits out and ask the guys passing by "hey, come on, who wants my tits, just for 2 gold, come on guys, give 2 gold for my tits" hahaaa
I always remember here the merchants on the street corner or at the bazar yelling to people "i got apples, come buy, good price, all fresh, just off the three, come on people, come taste them, they soo juciy".
No kidding that's the scene i have in my mind when i think of Gold Shows or Countdowns on token sites, it feels like i am at the bazar selling my goods to people there, who yells louder gets the customers.
OMFG just laughing here typing this, no kidding, it is really like this here, u dont have that in the UK or other western countries, all goods are in the shop on the shelves and u pay the set price for everything u buy, if there is clearance for some foods then u buy them cheaper but they on the way to get bad that's why they sell for cheaper.
So i want to be the product on the shelf that waits for the right customer willing to pay my price.
That's how camming clicks right to me :)
Hope u had a good laugh off my graphic example ;)

Re: Using 2 cams for split camming
^^^ Ty Selena, i got my hdmi cable, connected it to the tv, it's working, now my question is, is a new-ish (2 years old) flat Tv screen better for the eyes than an older 17" monitor screen (since 2009)?
What i actually mean is, how good for the eyes is to cam using a tv screen? How far away i have to keep my eyes from it?
Is not a huge tv but bigger than my actual monitor.
This monitor damaged my eyes in the last 3 days after i installed the drivers u sent me to download for my graphic's card as it was set automatically to 60Hz refresh rate after installation, this was not good for my eyes, it came to my mind to look at the refresh rate & i changed it to 75 (max allowed) but the damage was already done, just getting better with my eyes here, will cam tmrw again and need to know what setup to use here.
ty xx
ETA: TV is 22" LED Full HD SAMSUNG

Re: Using 2 cams for split camming
1080p. TV only really run at 60hz the 120hz ones draw artifacts that is fine for cam but not games.
Once you set the resulution you can make the icons bigger and text bigger so its easier on the eye. Also you probably already know if you press ctrl and roll the mouse wheel in a webpage it zooms in making everything bigger
I tend to use my TV for the chat and the monitor so I can see myself in show.
