Re: Using 2 cams for split camming
Ty Selena, i was just thinking if i should use them both or just the tv?
Thinking how to arrange my cam space here but the problem is, the room i am camming in is the livingroom and when i dont cam or sleep i need to put the tv back on it's original place eventually, this room is not my dedicated camming room unfortunately, we also eat in here and spend time at the tv sometimes when family visits etc, son has his own room with his pc there, no tv needed for him.
That's why i am asking if it's better to replace the monitor with the tv or use the tv as a second monitor and watch that screen when i cam or do other things at the pc, the tv i can put on a rolling table and bring it closer to my desk for when i cam.
Hope it makes sense, i dont know which of these screens will protect my eyes better considering i will need the screen far away my eyes when i cam but also closer when i do other things on the pc other than cam, things i need to focus on from closer distance like editing pictures or so.
Still did not make the arrangements cause i dont know how to go about this really, i want my eyes protected 1st of all.

Re: Using 2 cams for split camming
OK hubbies answer.
50hz is anti flicker. If 60hz or 75hz is hurting eyes try 50hz this is the PAL standard. games consoles used to use this for smoother gameplay. 60hz is NSTC which gave faster gameplay but it wasnt as smooth. The TV will make things easier to read as you can enlargen the text and icons. So its as easy to read from a greater distance.
However if you use a TV screen the graphics card will only display to the lowest resulution. 1080p is computer terms is not that high and the monitor can display higher than 1080p. So if you display 1080p on the TV the monitor may look a but chunky compared to what you are used to.
Google text and icon sizes for Windows 7. A roller stand will help with moving it about. However gamers get tears streaming down their faces at first. Depending how fast the game they are playing is. Until they relax there eyes and dont focus on the details only what they are shooting at.
=-------
My TV is bolted to the wall and I have a monitor under it because I am so close I took your advice and now use that for chat because I am looking into the camera while I read chat. And use the TV for the encoder view. Why I have to watch myself I dont know. Lol. However after 11hrs on Saturday my eyes were hurting from the monitor but not the TV. so it might be down to preferences. But the TV is designed to be used further away.
I had a look on SM last night and they had a special liveshow in blue. And even that was juddering. So even the porn stars are getting the same issue as us. So its either the site is getting too much traffic from customers lurking or the servers are too old now. To handle 720p traffic. At the volume they have. So we all have the stuff for 720p but they dont for the hardware and are making do with rubbish servers that they are trying to replace in stages as servers are big money

I use a c920 for SM but have an old c310 which is 720p and 30fps.
Does using 2 cams place less load on the cpu. The c920 uses encoding which has to be decoded and re encoded but the c310 doesnt use encoding so the cpu only has to encode.
Its just a random throw it out there question. As I dont fancy an 8hr shift just sitting in an empty room waiting
I didn't read this whole thread so I'm sorry if someone said this already but,I would use 2 completely different set ups if you can.IF you are camming on streamate. I don't know about the other sites but if u use a splitcam software on streamate it's going to give you problems forsure
Re: Using 2 cams for split camming
Ty Selena, things are sorted out here now with my screens, all good and set but then i got a phone call from the new ISP, they'll be here tmrw to install the new internet line, i started to clean up the room right away, hide all cam related stuff, sort out folders on D drive to put my camming material in there just to make sure they will not figure out things LOL.
Also moved desk & PC around and make it look 'plain', normal.
Still have things to do here, again, ty for input xxx
Re: Using 2 cams for split camming
No problem kat. In the UK we have to sort it all ourselves. Thats a good service they check the pc works and no issues.
Sorry the drivers hurt your eyes but I hope the drivers sorted out the issue you had with the graphics card being reliable

Re: Using 2 cams for split camming
^^^ No worries Selena, was nobody's fault, luckily i checked refresh rate and realized it was set to 60.
Tried to make this combination of monitor/ Tv work to have them both on my desk but they took all my space, no room to put camera & desk lamps on there too, then i tried to put the tv on the rolling table, too low compared to the monitor sitting on the desk, then i tried tv on desk and monitor on rolling coffee table, not good either; the tv has it's own resolutions and the monitor has different ones, i could not make them work together, i also tried all combinations possible there in the Screen Resolutions settings in Windows.
So i put the tv back to it's original place (not far away my camming area) and decided to use it as a twin monitor for when i cam and as tv for when i dont cam, i will time to time take my eyes off the monitor on the desk and look over to the tv just to make sure i dont tire my eyes that much.
See how they looked like one next to each other, the picture on the tv at the left is squeezed, is not helping that these screens are not both wide, the monitor is square & the tv is wide.
And then i got the phone call & had to sort them the way i just explained.
Yes, here they come inside the house and set everything for us, make sure everything is working and the install procedure is cost free, u just pay the monthly fees for the service when they issue the bill.
They just cant afford not to get customers or loose them, they kiss our asses simply LOL.
I know Sky over there said they'll come to check things when internet was not working properly but they said they'll charge per hour.

Re: Using 2 cams for split camming
OK. You should be able to set them up independent. The TV looks to be in 720p however it is easy on the eye. the desktops are set to mirror. Extended allows the independant resulution. And putting different things on different screens.
Nice picture mind.
Re: Using 2 cams for split camming
Lol I just realised I still only just over 1 month camming. And a veteran on SW lol
Re: Using 2 cams for split camming
I tried all combinations no kidding, twin, split monitors (SMB on one monitor & chat window in the other, i was not happy with any settings cause either one of these screens own's settings messed up the other one's screen settings, if in size or quality wise. So i separated them lol.
Off the pc now, still have things to do here ,ty xx

Hubbie came home with a 3Rd screen after you spoke to him as said about lower down. Screen city dread the electric bill with all this going on
