Re: Random Fitness Thread
Yes! I'm a huge fan of a random fitness thread! I lift 4-5x/wk, do HIIT cardio once in a while, and follow IIFYM most of the time. I watch a ton of fitness girls on YouTube for motivation. I have a ~12wk cut starting on Monday, which I'm looking forward to making my most serious cut ever. And I just treated myself to my first well-deserved pair of Lululemon leggings!

Re: Random Fitness Thread
I work as a trainer in a studio that specializes in Super Slow strength training with really heavy weights. I do that twice a week, I'll do 3 random aerial or yoga classes. And I've been dancing to Bollywood dance fitness apps nearly everyday. I try to incorporate over-split stretching twice a week (but doesn't always work that way).

I bet. I'm assuming that me doing one-on-one is probably going to cost a small fortune.
I'm happy because in pilates today we had to do this long planking series which was killer to me a couple weeks ago and I was able to get through all of it and without being wobbly. I youtubed corepower yoga to see what all it was about and everything I saw was stuff we do in pilates so so much for me broadening my horizons with that.

This is my fave site for cute gym clothes: https://www.bandier.com/
I've started doing a daily yoga routine at home, I just go on youtube and find a different 20-30 min one to do each time. I pick really easy ones, I do it more to meditate and relax. I light candles and do the whole 9 yards.

Re: Random Fitness Thread
I've really been in the mood to go running which is odd because I've never been into it, I've also really been wanting to join a gym but I figure why really bother when I can do everything I'd do at a gym at home? But I could join a gym for the treadmills. It's a shame because there's a bunch of beautiful nature reserves in my area and I've often heard that running on the ground is a superior workout to running on a treadmill(because apparently on ground you have to do more work to propel yourself along vs. on the treadmill?) but it's not like I'm an elite athlete or anything. I just want to get my circulation going more, get my heart rate up and be less sedentary, it's usually too hot to go running outside here plus being such a klutz I think I would eat shit running on trails.
I also just stopped drinking coffee for the sake of working out, it messes my blood sugar up and I really need it to be stabilized for harder workouts.

OK- Sooo thanks to an epic horrible development with my home club (dancers getting banned via city ordinance) I have to be Las Vegas stripper skinny in about 2 months. Basically my only viable club options are ones that insist on dancers being in the Size 2-4 range. Any & all thoughts/suggestions welcome. Nothing can offend me. A year & a half ago I was 15 lbs overweight & looked like a fat squirrel. I *feel* better when I'm thinner. I don't have my current weight (no scale) but guess I am at 119 lbs. at five feet tall right now.
Re: Random Fitness Thread
I found this product today http://www.amazon.com/Garden-Life-Fu...words=fucothin
but im considering to buy it. i need to lose a weight ASAP "only" 10 lbs. But because of my sugar is dropping suddenly i tend to grab something sweet like yesterday ate 2 fruit bars.
Also today i have seen a picture which had comparison of 3 activity such as cycling, running, Scandinavian walking(basically walking with sticks like for skiing)
funny enough that the most amount of cal you will burn from walking 800 cals per hours and 80% of muscles are working.
Re: Random Fitness Thread
I went to go sign up at the closest gym to me which is a small local one, it was so crowded early on a Friday! I was thinking 'If it's this crowded during a time when you would think everyone would be at work I don't know about this.......' Plus there seemed to be a bunch of people hanging out and I really am not looking to work out at the town's hangout spot. I waited at the front desk for someone to help me sign up for a few minutes and when no one came I took it as a sign to bounce. I signed up online to a different gym that is big and has tons of treadmills. I'm going to check it out tomorrow unless I'm dead after pilates.
Re: Random Fitness Thread
I think I might have wet myself a little during cycling class and I didn't realize it till I was a quarter a way into pilates. It was probably just my crotch area getting really sweaty from the saddle because I didn't smell like piss, but a girl across the room in pilates looked at me like I was disgusting and kept whispering to her friend. I need to remember to not wear cotton leggings when I do cycling !!!! So embarrassing hahah

Omg! Last week I wore these gray leggings that I have 6 pairs of(well 4 are black, 2 are gray, they were cheap as fuck) to pilates and they are not made for working out in so it's not that sweat-proof workout material. It was one of the more cardio-based jumpboard classes and I didn't think anything of it when I made my outfit selection, but my crotch area sweats a lot(sexy) and I looked like I pissed myself by the end of the class. I was like 'Note to self: never wear these leggings to the cardio classes.' So then I go back today and the only clean pair of leggings I have left is the other gray pair so I wear them for class thinking it will be fine because it's not a jumpboard class. Then the chick decides to have us get on the jumpboards anyway!! I've never once had to do the jumpboards in a class that wasn't specifically for them so I was like 'Greeeeeeeat.' Fortunately we weren't on them the whole time so I didn't have the same issue as last time. But yes, the crotch sweat struggle is real.
I absolutely love my gym and have gone every day since I got my membership(which is 3 days lol). I am going to try and go every day unless I'm really busy.
Re: Random Fitness Thread
Whew I had such an amazing workout today. My last class was cancelled, so I ended up going in early and spend about 2 hours there. The first 1.5 hours were with a friend and were a little slower and more mellow, though I got my usual workout done (weighted squats, deadlifts, lunges, straight leg deadlifts, shoulder presses, bench presses, shoulder to shoulder presses, etc. etc. Spent a little time cooling off on the mat with her doing other misc butt and ab exercises. Met a guy named *clicks tongue* Lei, and had a good time. Then I went and joined these two girls I'd seen coming around for weeks. One is skinny and thin, but when she works out her muscles come out and she has insane strength. I admire her a lot. This other girl who I think is her gf has come a long way under her guidance and it really shows. I did a lot of arm stuff under her guidance for the last 30 minutes. My favorite was a variation on bicep curls. you bring the curl up like normal then twist your hand around, so your wrist is facing out and lower the weights.
I feel great!!!

Omg that is the one place I sweat SO bad!! Like it literally looks like I peed myself when I get a really good workout in. Sometimes I wear grey cotton leggings and it's so bad but I kind of just embraced it now haha it's proof that I worked hard.

Lol! I like that attitude. I seriously wanted to cry/die/disappear when I first noticed it. Luckily Pilates is a lot of deep breaths so that helped me relax and by the end of the class it wasn't as noticeable. I'm glad I'm not the only one who gets a sweaty crotch lmaoo

Claudia Sampedro is my favorite fitness chick: https://www.instagram.com/p/BDGpKW4IfYl/
I'm just bummed because she used to have bigger implants and switched them out for smaller ones last year and I think the bigger ones looked better.

1.) I wanted to know if Charlie61 has any thoughts on corepower yoga, I know she likes yoga but not sure what kind she does. I've been wanting to try some form of yoga, there's a corepower place near me but I assume it's just really core-focused yoga and I do pilates which is really core-focused and I really like it so there's probably no point in joining 2 'core gyms.' I wouldn't mind doing some kind of new-agey yoga, I just don't want to do the kind where they turn the heat up and make you sweat.
Just saw this thread!
I'm a huge fan of hot vinyasa flow classes (they unite your breath with your movements, so it's very flowing and meditative while still giving you an intense workout). You don't like the heat, so stay away from anything labeled "hot" or "Bikram."
You'd probably gain a lot from any sort of "power flow" class. All yoga classes will involve your core (aside from the yin / stretching classes).

I used to run trails. I've always hated running - it feels awful on my joints - but trail running was a different story. I doubt you'd trip. When you run trails, you adopt more of a shuffle-run, where you take smaller, quicker strides. It's extremely meditative, because you have to focus on what's in front of you, whereas running on treadmills/roads/tracks allows your brain to wander. I would mix walking and running when I'd run trails. This is especially good if you're just starting out and have low stamina or just hate running in general. I'd run when I wanted to, and then walk for a while to catch my breath and recover. I gave myself permission to walk whenever I wanted to. But I found that I could run much, much farther on trails than I could on pavement. And it felt so good to be running in nature instead of on a sidewalk or whatever.
