Tech Support
I am just starting to cam on Chaturbarte. A friend helped me to get the equipment together. But we are still not satisfied with the quality of the broadcast. Would somebody experienced have a look and give some advice. PM please.
Equipment:
Acer travelmate 4750 with i5 processor and 4GB Ram
Logitech c910
Fiber Internet with 5Mb upload
2 simple Spotlights of 120W and 3 Spotlights of 60W.
White walls and Black Skin
Image is not brilliant and sound is shit.
We turned of RightLight and RightSound and figuring arround with Cam Configuration. But it is not getting fully satisfying. As much with daylight and with artificial lighting.
Help would be appreciated.

Re: Tech Support
Your RAM is really low at 4. I thought 8 is the bare minimum. X

Re: Tech Support
Try this excellent tutorial from Audri2: https://www.stripperweb.com/forum/sh...Light-FOR-C920
It should work for the c910 as well.

Re: Tech Support
I was spending the last night reading through many related comments.
So I did a full system check:
Energysettings are all set to full performance.
All background programs are deactivated
Internet speed is tested with 4.5M upload constantly.
We just still do not have an ethernet cable and use Wifi on 2 meters distance.
I use settings of 640x480 and 90% quality.
Still the image is shit.
But when streaming through a skype video call its fine.
See image below. I can not imagine that the RAM is the reason. What else could we try?

Re: Tech Support
Skype and streaming are very different. Your CPU is fine but your ram needs to be double. Unless you have your nitrate to high. I haven't used chaturbate. Sondont fully get how it works but from a tech view. Always at least 8gig of ram to support the encode.

Re: Tech Support
It's a bit like comparing a cam girls i7 with the machines twitch gamers use. Sure you spent £2000 on a computer. They spent £8000.

Re: Tech Support
I just monitored the system usage.
It is using 1,55 Gb of Ram, while the rest is unused. So shortage of RAM can not be the cause.
The processor is used at 30%.
Thats when I was broadcasting on 640x480 and 100% Quality.
Even when Quality is 100% the image is highly compressed and the compression artefacts are jumping arround. Thats weird, as 100% should be each pixel transmited with its original value.
I also tried turning of hardware acceleration in the flash settings, as this was documented to create troubles sometimes. But no difference.
Any more ideas?

Re: Tech Support
I used a c910...Till I bought a c920 and saw the difference.C910 is awful in comparision with c920 , maybe try a different cam and stay wired, not on wifi. About RAM, I was working for 5 years on two sites, both HD so I doubt it`s the RAM causing your issues. Have you played with your webcam settings ?Exposure, gain, white balance, play with them till you maybe get a better quality.
