Dental Issues and Camming
Hello ladies!
I really need help with this one, and I'm kind of ashamed to admit it. I've got terrible teeth and need about $6k worth of repairs. I need a surgical implant and several fillings. I was born with pretty shitty teeth, has a rooth canal at 12 (the tooth is gone now) and it runs in the family. To be honest, I just don't have the money for it. I don't have credit yet, I'm still very young. To me, $6k is almost enough for downpayment on a small house!
Does anyone know what to do? I'm really upset, I've been close to crying a few times because I don't know how to afford this.

Re: Dental Issues and Camming
Aww. Sometimes they have free to low cost dental clinics, depending you may have to go in & wait, or be on a waiting list. Also there's dental schools (the dentists are qualified, just starting out).
There's Care Credit, I don't know a lot about that but I've heard it mentioned around on here.
I feel you, I had about that much work $ done about a year ago..I had to have 2 root canals. I got a recommendation from my dentist (had to see an endodontist) & I talked to him about it, I gave him like 200.00 to start, & he let me make payments
I also made payments to my dentist. I made sure to pay on time. It took me months to pay them both off. @ that time, I had no insur.
I have now, Spirit Dental, (Security Life) 866 619 6095 . For my plan I pay 40. a mo, no waiting period, no deductible, & I choose my own dentist. The max amount's 1300.00, but there's 2 higher plans, I think the most expensive is 55.00? Idk what the max amt covered is
Good luck Hon!

Re: Dental Issues and Camming
another smart thing is to go abroad and get dental done in mexico. you can find highly reputable dentists. I'm sure some of the girls in mexico can direct you to awesome dentists. also, when I lived in austin, they had a program that you could go to a government dentist (you had to wait in line and no appointments so sometimes it was an all day thing) but all you had to pay was $20 for each visit. they didn't do root canals or anything like that for teeth that were really far gone...they would pull those, but if you got them pulled, then you could go to a dentist in mexico and get implants. I was born with severely shitty teeth as well. I end up spending about $5k every 5 years on them. it sucks ass! I'm at the point where i just want them pulled and to get full implants. it's cheaper than pulling and replacing with an implant individually. my teeth are so bad that when i told my last dentist what i wanted to do, he said it was a good idea....smh, but at least he was honest.

Re: Dental Issues and Camming
Where do you live? are you in the USA? Some states you can get dental coverage for little to no cost.

Re: Dental Issues and Camming
For huge amount of work you're better off with a dental discount plan than insurance as there is no cap on it for what hey cover in a year. I had around 30 000 in work done, and it saved me a bunch from it. It saved me more than any insurance could, and it is way cheaper. Dentalplans dot com cost around 150 for a year, and have to choose the one your dentist will accept. Now i go for 6 month checkups, cleanings and it always saves me half of the bill, or close to it.

Re: Dental Issues and Camming
Get a credit card for people with no credit (they'll probably approve you for $500-1000), start a fund raiser on piggy bank girls, & look into dentists with payment plans available (some do have financing for serious work). Also look at dental schools. some offer cheap work in exchange for dental student practice.
Another way you can help fund is clips. Some guys love bad teeth with tons of fillings or explaining what you need done. I had a pretty bad cavity a few years ago and made a clip that ended up selling well enough to cover the filling.
after you get everything done, get a ton of those pick flossers, a water pik with xylitol additives, and chew sugar free gum sweetened with xylitol 3 or 4 times a day. I haven't had a cavity since I started that routine.

Re: Dental Issues and Camming
Also Poland is really affordable for good dental work. Plus staying there is really cheap and you can get a place in the city with good internet and continue to cam while you get the work done.
I also agree that you should try appealing to you fans through Twitter. Set up with someone like Cam models store, if your in america get google wallet, MGF or a Gofund me page. Promote the hell out of it. Ask guys to contribute what they can and make a big deal to thank anyone publicly who does help you out. As hard as we are on the Captain Save a Ho's there is a lot of them out there and they will go so far as to put themselves into chapter 11 to help you out with this. Exploit it every way you can!

Re: Dental Issues and Camming
This is going to sound crazy, but I found it and my bestie is trying it but Google 'repairing teeth with egg shells'. She says it's hard to swallow but that she can actually feel a difference and it has only been two weeks.
I feel your pain. I just could not afford all the dental work I needed, so I went the denture route. Wish I had found the eggshell article beforehand though. Would have been worth trying.

I tried & signed up for one of those plans, but my endo wouldn't accept, & I had to get the root canals done soon. Just saying. But yea if she can find a dentist that will take it, fine.

Re: Dental Issues and Camming
Egg shells can help to a point. Like minor cavities and helping out enamel but it wont fix a rotted out tooth or regrow a missing one. Plus you really need to consider how dangerous infection can be. That can spread to your blood and then you have a real problem. Go ahead and take egg shells but please also see your dentist.
My husband is in the same situation and its been driving me insane for years that he wouldnt even start fixing the problem. A few weeks ago he got an infection and they had to pull one of the remaining teeth he had to chew with. Situation went critical at this point. He now has to get the implants and just for one side of his mouth (not front teeth or any of the other side which has no teeth and will probably require a bone transplant to fix) we are looking at about 6000 euros. The good news is you dont pay that all at once. One week it was 200 euro one week it was 600 euro. In about three weeks is the biggest bill of 1500 euro. but until then the other work is about 100 to 150 a week. The point is you can start with a small amount and do what you can to start the process. You can get temporary solutions to allow you to save money for the bigger fixes and often if you go in needing this amount of work you can ask a dentist to waive the appointment fees that are normally attached to basic tooth care like cleaning or whitening. Dont be afraid to try and renegotiate your price or ask for the best price they can give you!
If you dont think of it as one large number you have to have to begin you can start slowly and do it with in your means. In the mean time hustle men to help you out. They will!

Re: Dental Issues and Camming
Yep, I hustled to get my teeth fixed & did.
THIS's the floss holder you need http://www.amazon.com/Flossaid-Denta...l+floss+holder
Those other things are ok, but the floss in them's too thick, I have a lot of crowns.
Use w/extra fine floss, & I use a floride rinse @ night before bed.
Also, these guys http://www.amazon.com/Brushpicks-250...l+plastic+pics
I am serious about my teeth, not going thru that crap again.

Re: Dental Issues and Camming
I need major dental work (including bone grafts, implants and braces) - I didn't even think about hustling guys for it! Where do you even start?

Re: Dental Issues and Camming
If you live by a University some of the ones with dental schools have low cost clinics where they do cleanings, fillings, extractions and sometimes root canals.
You say you don't have credit yet and that might be a good thing in this case, financing $6k on a credit card could get you into some serious money trouble if you couldnt pay it off, you don't want to get trapped in the credit trap.
If you really want to go about financing though you could talk to your bank and they might give you a personal loan at a far lower rate than credit cards and they go off your income and history with them compared to a credit score.
Shop around dentists, the prices among different dentists can be drastic.
You can also get some pretty cheap dental plans with no waiting period on work.

Re: Dental Issues and Camming
For dental discount plans, make sure you read the fine print. I need to get a bunch of dental crowns, and I looked into some plans but they're only taken by certain dentists, and the plans I saw only covered metal crowns and not porcelain ones.
Try to work with your dentist and fix a little at a time if possible. That's what I'm planning on doing.
If you get dental insurance, I think you generally have to wait a year to be able to use it for major dental work, but it would be good to have so that you keep up with dental visits. If you're self-employed, I believe you can write of dental insurance on your taxes. Also, if you open up an HSA you can use that money towards dental care and it's another tax deduction. I know that doesn't help you save money initially, but at least you could get some tax breaks in the future.
I would also check out dental schools if you're close to one. I got a bunch of dental work done at a local dental school and it's cheaper and they also offered an additional discount for paying up front.
If you have a family member with good credit, you could ask if they would consider consigning for a personal loan or credit card. I'd avoid credit cards unless you get good terms like 12 months no interest. $6k is a lot, I know, but teeth are for life and if you're able to find a way to afford it, it's worth it. I feel your pain because I need a lot of dental work too.

Crowdfunding sites like GoFundMe are also another option. Check out this lady who actually did it: http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgar...ding-1.2921434

Re: Dental Issues and Camming
This may not be too helpful now but if in the future, if you are in a better place financially and you need more dental work done, Thailand is another one of those dental tourism destinations. A lot of people combine a vacation and dental work and the industry caters to the foreign visitor.

Re: Dental Issues and Camming
If you absolutely can't get any credit to help I would work constantly and spend as little as possible till you make the 6k. 6k is not a HUGE amount of money, it's definitely not an amount to sneeze at but it's not massive. You can save a lot by going to other countries like others have said but unless you live really close to one of those places the travel costs and days missed at work for the traveling might still negatively impact you a lot. One thing that would concern me is your 6k estimate, where does that estimate come from? The prices can go up once they're actually in your mouth working because they may run into more issues upon deeper inspection. Also I wouldn't go overboard with bargain hunting for a dentist, I know plenty of people(myself included) who did not go to great dentists and ended up having more problems down the road that cost more money because of improperly-done work. One friend actually has had a very very very bad medical issue result from shitty dental work(her condition is very rare btw, not trying to freak anyone out just saying it can really help to choose wisely!)
When I got my first boob job I had next-to-no money and yet needed to pay for the surgery and the expenses for weeks off from work so I worked constantly for around a month. Like working rows of double shifts and I hardly spent anything and was able to stack the money pretty easily because I was always at work and didn't have time to spend anything. Also you don't have to do allllll of your dental work at once, maybe break your treatments and amounts up and tackle them one at a time so you're not daunted by the large total amount, focus on smaller goals. Your dentist will tell you what order the treatments should be done in.
Btw I've spent over 10k cash on my teeth this year so I get how you feel.

Re: Dental Issues and Camming
^^ Good to know about Thailand! Thanks for that Madam Dragon. I wouldnt be able to cam while there (its very illegal, dont even try it!) but I have always wanted a holiday there so if I could get my teeth done cheap and enjoy the atmosphere it would be a win win!

Re: Dental Issues and Camming
That's pretty neat to know about Thailand. A trans friend of mine had her physical transition done there, and praised the hospital and the care she got to the heavens, so I guess they've got medical tourism market set up great overall.

Re: Dental Issues and Camming
Hustle like crazy.
I also have bad teeth and a similar story to yours. I had absolutely no dental care until I was 21, had a tooth rot out in 6th grade that is now gone. It's taken me years and I'm not even finished with my teeth yet, and still have about a year to go. $6k is actually a pretty low cost to fix everything. When I am finished, I will have spent 7 years and waaaaaay more on my teeth.

Re: Dental Issues and Camming
I watched an episode of "Inside Man" about Thailand's medical tourism. It was on netflix a few months ago, not sure if it still is.

Re: Dental Issues and Camming
My suggestions are- definitely travel for dental work- Mexico is a very easy option.
Also, many "crappy" jobs at corporate chain stores DO offer some sort of dental insurance- my last regular job did. You can get some of the minor work/maint. done that way & then travel for the bigger work like crowns, root canals & veneers.
I feel your pain. My last root canal & crown cost close to $3K (the tooth collapsed.) My ex paid for it & I am so so grateful- I do realize not everyone has access to credit for these types of emergencies.

Re: Dental Issues and Camming
I got mine fixed in Romania for about 1/10th the price (even when you include the plane ticket) after messing around with a university clinic in the states for about a year and a half (with up to 3 months between appointments while they decide what to do). Dental plans with Obamacare are dirt cheap as well and can help mitigate the costs, but finding an actual dentist in the area taking adult patients is a huge time sink.

Re: Dental Issues and Camming
First of all, milk what you have.
Imperfect teeth are a big fetish. Make a ton of videos, close ups, different angles, playing with your tongue on your teeth, eating whatever.
Sell the videos on ALL of the video websites. Add a tribute button to your shops.
After that, work work work it honey.
Cam as much as you can, sell panties, sell and make videos, do phone chat etc.

Re: Dental Issues and Camming
OH yeah now that someone mentioned Health Marketplace- apply online to see what you qualify for.
& Depending on where you live, some US dentists are actually pretty nice people & want to help you work out a treatment plan you can afford over time, versus the greedier ones who won't even take low income customers.
///(side note- this discussion is making me wear my retainer more- great teeth are an ongoing process. There's a reason the phrase "million dollar smile" exists- it's costly to have a Hollywood style set of teeth.)
