Re: First time home buying
Just wanted to say thanks for all the helpful responses. Our washer and dryer broke several days ago and hasn't been fixed so we are probably going to move out and rent another house for a year from a non slack ass landlord and buy after that which gives us a little more time to get everything in line. I'm concerned about us not being married though. We've been together eleven years but don't really believe in marriage.

Thanks LAChloe. It all the income was listed under my business and the 1099's were on there also. The problem with my business is proof of income. Yes, I claim it on my taxes, but since we moved she couldn't use it since you technically have to be in the state for 2 years. But I've been camming with check stubs for I think 5. For some reason she said she wasn't able to use it.

That's b/c as a self employed, you have a boat load of other deductions which you want to take, however when it comes time to make a large purchase, such as a home, your tax returns won't show what you made as a fair amt. So you're best bet is CASH.
Re: First time home buying
I have family who have been together 40+ years, never married to each other, and they are currently looking into buying house #4 together. Double check your laws but that shouldn't be an issue imho
