First time going to Las Vegas for work
Hi guys!
So I am traveling down to Las Vegas to work. It will be my first time dancing in Las Vegas as I turned 21 in October. I have been dancing since I was 18 and my best friend is going with me who has danced for the past 8 years. However she has never danced in Las Vegas either.
Wanted a little advice. I know summer is slower so I don't have super high expectations worst comes to worst we will just enjoy our vacation LOL.
What clubs you suggest working at right now? I've looked through the forums but I have not seen anything too recent. I was thinking Rhino or Sapphire.
Also if you have any advice, it would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Re: First time going to Las Vegas for work
Hi!
Vegas dancers are required to purchase a non-gaming work card in order to work in the strip clubs. It's $40, you have to get a referral from the club you want to get hired at, bring your ORIGINAL birth certificate to the card office (since you're under 24) and get your fingerprints taken, and your work card issued.
Rhino or Sapphire, like most big clubs in Vegas, will require you to also have your business license on your first night. It's $200. I don't know if I can recommend those clubs to you without knowing your body type, as they look for incredibly high-end girls due to their popularity. I recommend calling the clubs you are interested in to ask them about their rule regarding traveling strippers, but you will at LEAST need a work card. Also ask them about house fees, as house fees at those clubs can range from $50 on up to $100+.

this is all pretty much true, except at rhino you don't need a business license, so it might be good to start at until you make some $$ to pay for it. they're the only club that does that, and they are also the only one that makes you get a TAM card (you have to go to an alcohol awareness class) and an extra background check (scope) but you have a week or so to get those. you just need the sherrif's card to start- keep in mind when planning your trip that you can only get that before 5pm monday-fri.. so don't show up late on a friday or during the weekend.
i believe crazy horse 3 will also let you work for one night only without the license and then you have to get it. all of the big clubs are kinda the same in regards to fees, number of girls and prices for dances/VIP, you just have to try everywhere and find where works best for you. also since it's summer, if you work sapphires, i suggest hanging out at their day club/pool during the day- you get a free drink, free lunch, and a free house fee which saves you $100 per night and you only have to stay 2-3 hours. if you have a friend to go with it's actually kinda fun and something to do during the day.
Re: First time going to Las Vegas for work
I work with a girl who works at Spearmint Rhino in Las Vegas & she is more petite & curvy than the average LV dancer but she is also otherwise "Barbie" looking so it works for her. IOW hiring standards have always been high there.
On a more important note, don't get roofied. I've known non-dancers who have been drugged at non-strip club hotspots in Las Vegas (robbery attempts) & my experiences as a visitor to LV in the past few years have left me on guard every time I think of that city. Have fun but be cautious.
Re: First time going to Las Vegas for work
Thank you guys SO much for all the advice. Really appreciate it. We arrive on a Wednesday night so Thursday morning we plan to go and get all our business license stuff sorted out. I will remember to bring my birth certificate. Super super cool about the free drink, lunch and house thing during the day at the pool. House where I work now is already 140 a night and 180 if you're not on a schedule. So anything under that is awesome.
Also thanks for the safety tips!! I am a total hypochondriac when it comes to keeping my drinks safe, if I even look away I ask for a new one haha! It's a little much but I'd rather be safe than sorry.
One more question, I have heard the business licenses in Vegas last more than one year? was curious to know how long they lasted because where i live i pay about 200 annually. If they only last a year that's fine but if they do last longer that would be amazing.
Thank you guys!

nope, it lasts one year, and you have to remember to renew it *before* it expires! if you're even a day late, they charge you 300 instead of 200 for the lapse
