Hired but...LONG/ Q's/ Pics Please help!!!
Hi Loves,
New here, and landed a job without auditioning at a local dive. I've never danced before, so I'm okay with starting out at a dive. It seems clean, safe, and the vibe I get from management is legit and they seem very open and nice.
I got hired this past Tuesday and he asked if I wanted to come in tmrw (Wed), but I said I'd come in for the dayshift Thursday (Thinking I'd practice a routine and be ready in a day), but when I woke up this morning I knew I couldn't get on the stage because I'd be embarrassed because I can't dance and practicing and studying up for a day was not enough for me to feel confident. I would rather have somewhat of a routine ready so that if I turned on my music I could dance for 12-15 (A set at the club I'm starting at) and not have to think, "Okay what should I do next, how should I transition, etc."
Don't get me wrong I'm pretty confident in my looks/ sexuality/ basically having to play a role all shift but dancing has never come natural for me as much as I wish it did!!! I really have to practice to get it down.
Also I would like to practice lap dances, since I didn't practice lap dances at all (getting stuck reading up on this site! lol)
So I decided to just get up and get dressed, and ask if I could come in on Monday. Plus I had some questions about the club I forgot to ask at my initial visit. He was really nice and said that would be fine, said I could practice on the stage that's not used as much (Because it's furthest away from the bar) and answered my questions about clothing, private dances, etc.
So my newbie questions are:
The club is a pasties and booty shorts type of dive, I have VERY limited funds, if I picked up a couple pair of cute boy short panties from Wal-Mart would that be tacky to wear? (I already have some stripper shoes, garter, stockings & they sell pasties for 5$ at the club)
And is there a specific type I should look for? Spandex material vs Cotton? Or...?
(Pic below is what I plan to wear w/ the right shorts and the pasties w/ a cute/sexy bra to take off for dances)
They take 5$ out of the private dances (no table dances) and dances are 20$ a song. Is that a normal percentage?
How should I wear my make up? I usually just go with foundation and eyeliner/mascara blush in my everyday, just a casual/natural look but I feel like I should spice it up? I have a baby face (plus I'm short 5'2'' and thin) so I feel my style is more cute/naughty (I think), so I don't wanna go full on show girl. But I feel like I should try something? Maybe just like heavier eyeliner, maybe a wing tip, add a little sparkly eye shadow on my lids? I plan on looking make up tutorials on youtube... but any advice is welcome (Pics below, one in white tank no make up)
If I got on the not-used-as-much stage to practice while a girl is doing her set on the more popular stage (right next to bar/middle of club) would she take offense to that? Should I wait until she finishes to practice? Asking because I would prefer to dance/practice on stage while someone who knows what she's doing is on the other stage so all eyes won't be on me if I try a pole trick and bust my ass! lol
How do you ladies approach men sitting at the bar (backs to pole dancers) sitting together talking? I feel like they're just there to relax maybe eat lunch or whatever and approaching them for lap dances I'd get shot down. Do you go over in there area with a drink make eye contact/smile and see how receptive they are or should I just be aggressive and try and hustle them regardless?
**Random-If you ever are not sure how to dance/move next what's your go to move?? Do you just swing around the pole or slide up and down it like a snake or does it all come natural to you now?
Since I'm new, it's a dive, working the day shift, and management told me its mainly regulars that come in, how should I approach the guys w/o 'trying to steal' someone's customer? Should I wait around and see if any girls go up to them like they know them (Immediately going up and hugging them/ saying HEY So and so how ya been?/ etc) Or should I just go and talk to them anyway and only leave once they mention they're here for (Whatever dancer)?
Oh and also, since I was hired w/o an audition, the manager said he would let me work for about a week and see how it went like a trial run I guess? Is that normal? I haven't heard anyone being let go after working after a few days. What does that really mean? That I should come with my A game or get ready to get sent home??? Is that a thing???
I'm really anxious to do well.... because in Houston, literally wherever you are, most likely there's a strip club 10-20 min away from you at least & some you can make some serious bank in. I want to learn a lot of pole tricks/dances/floor work so I can eventually move to one of those bigger clubs. I know I wont make much money at a dive filled with regular joes which is fine as long as I make some profit and gain the experience I'm happy!!!
Sorry so long but if I get any answers I'd really appreciate it. Oh and if somethings already been answered somewhere, sorry again, I went through as much of the newbie section as I could, barely started the 'Hustle Hut' part. Any help is appreciated!!!!

You will be really nervous the first time you go on stage, and I surely would've forgotten any "routine"... I feel like you should pick 3 simple things and stick with that. Come in and watch the other girls to get an idea of the club's style. They are going to be understanding that your going to biff on the first day, who doesn't? Remember a lot of it is just modeling too, letting them see your body, creating beautiful lines and moving sssllloowww and sexy.
As for booty shorts, I would go for a lycra or spandex, and then just use a little of your initial profits to get proper ones. You def want to invest in real stripper shoes ASAP. Regular heels will murder your feet and is a big newbie tell.
They are probably going with a trial because they don't expect you to do well right away, which is great. They just want to see you get comfortable and like the job.
I hope you like it as much as I do!

My computer is being crazy slow and I can't find the thread on what to bring to your first shift so:
a couple thongs/g-strings, makeup, hair supplies, a lock for your locker if they are not supplied, SNACKS (you will be hungry, and if they have food it's overpriced and will bloat you) I bring coffee ;), breath mints (don't chew gum on the floor), body spray, hand sanitizer, deodorant, body wipes, extra stockings (you can buy later), extra shoes (in case they break), if you wear nails bring nail glue... Some clubs girls wear little purses, in mine we fold our money in garters around our shoes or ankles.
Come up with a stripper name, and of course, your FAKE REAL NAME because these guys will harass you about it. Come up with a little story about your life and stick to it, don't give real info. I personally am a psychology student at a local school and I have my "grew up in" and "currently live in" neighborhoods all picked out lol.
know this stuff, assholes can smell new strippers-
