Willl joining a studio help me
Streamate used to be my main source of income but tech issues and placement make me virtually invisible even to my regulars it seems. Would joining a physical studio get rid of these issues? ANy thoughts or experience and any good reliable studios you girls know of in vegas area? Do you have to wait 6 months if i decide a studio is not for me? Thxxx

Hard work and persistence will get you further RE: placement than a studio ever will, in my opinion.
Re: Willl joining a studio help me
No. You'll end up resenting giving them a cut. One of the perks of camming is not leaving your home-I've even seen a girl or two with house arrest bracelets on. Youd be giving that up, as well as a huge degree of privacy.
Re: Willl joining a studio help me
Physical studios generally do nothing for your placement. The benefit with them is that they pretty much force you to stay on a regular schedule (that you still mostly choose...but you better show up or face the fines). You also have a camming space with generally better technology/quality that someone else maintains on your behalf. It doesn't come cheap though, you'll end up paying about half your earnings in fees, commissions, and penalties. And yes, if you are under their "virtual studio" as well (most require this, some don't), you will have the 6 month ban if you give them up entirely. You can continue to work from home, but you will continue to lose the commission cut to them in most cases.
In Vegas we currently run 2 different deals for BoleynModels, the first is an agent of ours that sets up your equipment and you basically lease it on a rent-to-own system and work at home. The other is where they're in the BoleynModels virtual studio, but rent the room/equipment in a physical studio for about $4-6/hour. Both are much more cost-effective options than working directly for the physical studio, with roughly the same benefits.

In Vegas, studios are your very best bet. It is against zoning laws to run an adult business from residential areas here. I am currently looking for my own personal space, but I have found that studios are reasonably priced compared to getting your own office. You can pick your own hours, etc but for obvious reasons you will never have the flexibility of working from home. Here are some helpful links for you regarding internet entertainment, and adult business laws and regulations in las vegas.
http://www5.lasvegasnevada.gov/LCAT/...0Entertainment regarding business licensing and the process in order to obtain a license.
The home use permit is a bunch of BS because as the county states, this type of job is subject to zoning restrictions. Residential areas are not zoned for adult businesses, so you will never be able to obtain a home use permit.
If you are running a business without a license, that is just extremely bad news. It is even worse if you are running an illegal porn business. Please don't. A lot of studios will allow models to work from home, but of course they assume no responsibility for your actions. As a sole proprietor, you and you alone are responsible. Do not take the risk.
It is worth giving up a percentage of your earnings to work at a studio. Most models are simply unaware of these type of issues because to sign up to cam sites all you need is an internet connection, computer and webcam. As they proudly say "work from the comfort of your own home" I believe this should be removed from popular cam sites. If a site told you to jump off a bridge would you? LOL. If you read the fine print in contracts they all pretty much say that you are responsible for all of the legalities, you should seek legal council, just in legal terms. You are an independent contractor and at the very least should have a sole proprietor business license. You are not the owner of the camsite you are on, no, but you are an independent contractor on that site...hope this makes sense. Even as a sole prop, you are still responsible for conducting business legally.
For more details, please see this PDF. It is very long, but a good and informative read. AN ORDINANCE ADDING ARTICLE 13 TO CHAPTER III
"BUSINESS REGULATIONS" OF THE COUNTY GENERAL
CODE REGULATING THE LICENSING AND OPERATIONAL
STANDARDS FOR ADULT BUSINESSES it can be difficult to understand. This does take a few minutes to load.
http://www.mynevadacounty.com/nc/bos...ances/2352.pdf
The PDF really does not spell out anything specific to camming, but it does for adult video, distribution, etc. According to the laws, camming is considered an adult business in Las Vegas and must adhere to the ordinances. I believe camming should not be under the same strict regulations as stripclubs, escort agencies, etc..as we do not have any foot traffic and we are not actually seeing clients in person, but that is just my humble opinion. For the safety of myself and my business, I will happily work at a studio. I am however, looking into renting my own space soon. There are adult office rentals all over, you just need to look for them. For any info, do not be afraid to call the county.

It sounds like you are looking for some easy fix there isn't one.
Whether you keep working from home or work in a studio there will things you like about it and things you hate about it.
Technically problems happen in this business we are in the technology business. Whether it's uploading content on a website or broadcast live on a website. You will run into ups and downs. Set backs happen in this business all the time and in business in general
So right your have a dip income and it could be caused by tech issues which the site streamate is probably aware of. They need to make money just like the rest of us
If everything is fine on your end equipment and internet speed wise then you have to wait it out until whatever cam site you are working on fixes their issues.
Running to some next site, running to some studio isn't going to fix anything because when problems happen over there then what are you going to do.
