Streamate "Advertisement"
I think majority of us can say we've been making less, putting up with more...but get this: I recently found my videos on a SM promotion site and now that I'm trying to get them removed I'm getting the run around.
I email Liz and Support, I get sent to the website to contact the clip site personally. I do, and I get a pathetic copy paste and NO CONFORMATION MY CONTENT WILL BE REMOVED.
i have about a handful of videos about 8-15 mins long on their site - how is that a "clip" that is an entire show!!!! Over 30 mins of free content. Also, their SEO And advertisement skills they claim to have with all this content to "tease" fans is bullshit. We can all agree we've had worse customers and less traffic. Even after explaining these videos violate my geoblock, the videos remain up.
What these videos essentially do: Make potential customers feel we perform sex acts in public chat. now do you understand why people barge into your room demanding things? They just watched over 30 mins of you for free. The way the video is edited makes it seem we just get horny and naked out of no where. It does not state "private show with ___" "gold show with ___" it just says "horny and ready to fuck"
Contact me if you'd like the website and if you choose to opt out as well.
Re: Streamate "Advertisement"
Curious as to what promo site?
Re: Streamate "Advertisement"
I won't be posting it here for the freeloaders - message me
Re: Streamate "Advertisement"
go back and reread your model contract you signed when you joined streamate.
Re: Streamate "Advertisement"
I did. And it states what you do in "public areas" can be used as royalty free advertisement. Are private paid shows also considered free areas?
Now I understand why the one website that records models in freechat never gets interrupted. They can technically capture and share what we do in free guest chat. It's a part of SM's TOS.
I'd like to see what models consider "free areas" because i just read this is the only content recordable and usable as marketing by SM and affiliates.

I guess you missed this part? :
H. Content
Performer/Studio will upload and transmit content in the form of images, video, sounds, and/or text (referred to herein as “content”) to and through Streamate’s systems for re-broadcast. All content uploaded to the systems by Performer/Studio shall be works made for hire under the United States Copyright Act, as amended, to the extent eligible; otherwise, Performer/Studio hereby assigns all rights, title and interests in such content to Streamate. Streamate shall then own all such content, and Streamate will have the sole discretion to use any such content in any way it so chooses, including but not limited to in any medium and in any promotion, distribution, advertising, sales and marketing efforts, both during and after the term of this Agreement.
It can be worse though. At freewebcams.com there contract stated that they own all such content...blablabla.... and have the right to use it in all means neccecary not limited to this planet
[/U]It was so ridiculous I never signed up with them bec of it....
Re: Streamate "Advertisement"
I have to say clips in excess of 10 minutes are no longer marketing material but full videos. If the clip is poorly edited and super long, as a performer I want control of that. We should have the option to see our marketing material or right from the start provide our own.
Anyone agree?
Also, I have a geoblock on my account. Do these affiliates have communication with SM on this? In my case, the videos are up on the clip site without a geoblock and anyone can view them. Even though I have geoblock on the actual account they got the video from.
I think that's what's upsetting me the most.
Re: Streamate "Advertisement"
Did you read the above part of the contract I searched down for you?
I know it sucks, But they are in their right, they own any broadcasting you do on their website, from the moment you press the start button... They have the right to use your imagige, sound, text everything
You dont have controll over it, you signed the contract

That's just silly for the clips to be that long. On the majority of tube sites they request that videos be over 5 min to get any kind of boost of their placement.
Re: Streamate "Advertisement"
My question and concern is why does SM offer geoblock if they will just give your videos away to an affiliate clip site who will pay no mind to your privacy settings at all? On the clip site they state they can geoblock your videos, but that's AFTER they publish it and you find it. By then it could be months if not years down the road your videos have been free to watch.
There are models (like me) who are dealing with privacy issues and we are trusting Streamate to geoblock us. But having a video free to watch on an affiliate site with no geoblock is just plain discourteous.
Re: Streamate "Advertisement"
I was under the impression that putting yourself under geoblocks also opts you out of these advertisements. Is that no longer true?
Re: Streamate "Advertisement"
In my case, it is untrue. That's why I'm encouraging models to message me if they want to check the site for their own protection. It's obvious SM is allowing third parties our content and not properly protecting our privacy

My understanding is that you have to specifically ask SM to not include you in advertisements, it is not something that is done automatically just because you use geoblocking. I have always had geoblock on for my home state, and I contacted Liz back when I first started camming and asked if I was "opted out" of affiliate sites/advertising. She told me I was not, and I asked her to change that and she did. I read about it on a thread here a long time ago, otherwise I wouldn't have known.

Ah ok. I think it does opt you out of some affiliate marketing because it makes it so that you don't show up on white labels unless the user knows your cam name specifically and when I asked cambuilder support (their white label/affiliate program) if profile images could be used for promotion, they said only if the model doesn't have geoblocks on. It apparently doesn't apply to their own marketing tactics... not surprising. Good to know!
And yes, while I agree these tactics are slimy and awful, they are covered by your contract unfortunately.
Re: Streamate "Advertisement"
They were selling mine and I have geoblock.
Re: Streamate "Advertisement"
Every cam site has that in there TOS. EVERY cam site records our shows, some sell them. ALL cam sites put our recorded shows on tubesites in order to drive traffic & sales to their sites.
Affiliate market has been greatly reduced.
There isn't a single cam company or major porn company that does NOT put content up on Tubesites for marketing purposes, it is the only thing creating traffic in the adult industry. If you know of any major quality traffic resources I'm sure they would love to know about them.
Last year they rolled out the Cambuilder.com white label maker in trying to get more traffic. So it's not like they aren't trying different methods to bring in traffic rather than tubesites & dating programs.
