Does age effect how managment treat you?
Topic is in the title!
I feel like the younger ones get treated like children by the managment and get spoken down to.
Yet they show the older ones more respect and let them get away with things like drugs etc.
This is probably just my club but was wondering if anyone had any stories to share?

Re: Does age effect how managment treat you?
I see no favoritism that way in any club I've worked in.
We have dancers from 19-40 and the only thing that seems to matter to management is your behavior. The dancers that pay their house and tip out without being chased down, don't cause drama, don't rip off customers, don't get wasted, etc... basically the ones that conduct themselves professionally and/or fly under the radar and stay out of management's way... are left to their own devices and not bothered. If you do any of the above "don'ts", they might start keeping an eye on you and doing things like reminding you early in the night to pay house or imposing a drink cutoff.. things you might consider 'being treated like children'... but if you acted like a child at some point, they will treat you like one.
Re: Does age effect how managment treat you?
I don't know if it's necessarily that they get on younger girls because of there age but younger age sometimes equals immaturity. I'm young myself and I've had management get upset at something I've done. But looking back it was my inexperience.
Re: Does age effect how managment treat you?
A lot of the older dancers have been there quite a long time and know the management and staff better but I think that's as far as it goes. I don't think a newbie 45 year old would automatically treated any better than a newbie 19 year old, if anything Theres a lot of ageism from management w new older dancers I think
Re: Does age effect how managment treat you?
I do get treated with more respect but I don't think it's because of my age. I think it's because I'm obviously a professional, don't drink to excess or do drugs, don't cause problems, and I tip well. I do worry when I think about trying out other clubs because I don't look my age but some clubs just see a number on an ID. I've never had that problem but I've also never tried a club where I think it'll be an issue.
Re: Does age effect how managment treat you?
Stupid is as stupid does. Aside from legal concerns like underage drinking age doesn't have shit to do with it.
Re: Does age effect how managment treat you?
THIS!
Younger ones get money but they get punked.
lol

Re: Does age effect how managment treat you?
I've never noticed management treating girls different based on age alone. Some managers will treat girls who are their "type" and they find attractive better than the ones who aren't their type but those are usually the more scummy ones.
Re: Does age effect how managment treat you?
i don't think it has so much to do with age as it does years in the business. IME cute newbies will get treated super nice by management, but they'll also try to get them to work crappy shifts, get more money/tips from them, or sometimes sleep with them. TBH i still look young and if i start at a new club without telling them i've been dancing for a few years, i often get the managers trying to hit on me.. giving me free drinks.. stuff like that. if i go in telling them how much experience i am they seem to treat me differently, like they kinda just ignore me, not in a bad way. sometimes they don't really even give me the full tour, like "ok, you know what you're doing, go for it". rather than babying me trying to tell me how a lapdance works. i had a manager do this once and he actually wanted me to GIVE him a dance, so he could supposedly show me how to do it, trying to tell me what guys like and blah blah.. when i (nicely) told him i've given plenty and would gladly show him for $20 he instantly changed his demeanor towards me.
so no.. i don't think age has anything to do with it. just the naivete. i think that if girls are getting away with drugs or extras it's not because of their age. they may be older and have been there a long time, yeah, but if management or staff are looking the other way it's almost always because they're paying them to or possibly sleeping with them. all anyone cares about in the club is $$$ and sex ::)
Re: Does age effect how managment treat you?
I was treated well at my last corporate club but I made it clear I had a "take it or leave it" attitude about being there.
Re: Does age effect how managment treat you?
The only time I've really been treated like crap is when Im pudgy. I gained a lot of weight 2 and half years ago bc I needed to have surgery. The surgery laid me up for awhile. Then I gained weight from meds from a chronic illness. People can be really mean when you're in a stripclub with extra weight. The girls are brutal. However, it didn't effect my money. The guys still liked me. But the women said horrible things to me. But it showed what horrible people they were. Because if they took the time to speak to me about it for 5 minutes. They would find out that I almost died during surgery. I was on meds and I felt horrible about the extra weight. But when management approached me about losing the weight. They were very nice, sympathetic. And were embarrassed to ask me to drop a few pounds. I haven't really had issues with management since Im older. Again, only with the mean, ignorant ladies. It's weird how nasty dancers can be to one another. We could make so much more money if we worked together instead of tearing each other apart.
Re: Does age effect how managment treat you?
And to answer the OP's question, if you act like a child they will treat you like a child. No matter what age you are. It s best to go to work and try to take this job as seriously as you can. Even though I find that to be a total joke myself. This isn't a normal job even though they want us to act like it is. We have to look perfect. This job is completely degrading. We are surrounded by drugs, sex and alcohol. We are treated like shit by everyone. And we aren't given benefits or anything like that. But the best way to survive in this biz is to try and get along with management. Even though many times that's impossible too.
Re: Does age effect how managment treat you?
The only favoritism I've ever seen is the special consideration that archeological relics get. But hey you have to treat them with kid gloves else they'll crumble.

This is something I'm thinking about too. I've never got turned down because of my age. But i've left most of my old clubs. And so I'm going to hit up some new clubs. I'm a bit self conscious that I might be turned down when the management sees my birthdate.
