Chaturbate: the model-moderator relationship
Last week I had a password show set as special prize for my top 3 tippers of the night. The top 3 had tipped over 3000 tokens that night. Then, literally 30 seconds before announcing the winner some random dude out of the blue out-tipped the 3rd guy by one token, a guy that had been tipping all night. So I decided to give the password to the top 4. I felt like it would be a dick move not to include guy #4. When I said this my mod PM'd me to ask if he could get a password too for helping out and it took me a while to check the PM so when I finally did he had also added something like "I love how you just ignored my question". It felt like he was being an entitled douchebag (it was a 3000+ token show) so I simply said no.
But the next day I kept thinking that perhaps there is an unwritten rule about models and mods. Maybe I am supposed to give the guy some sort of retribution, like tickets for my crazy ticket shows or access to content, or passwords. Maybe he wasn't being an entitled jerk, but I was being an ungrateful model because I never gave him anything even though he has been my mod for 2 months and he does a great job.
So I wanted to ask you girls for advice. Is it customary to give free shit to mods? Because if that is the case I don't think I will keep anyone as a moderator. I don't give anyone sexual favors in exchange for something as mundane as banning idiots in my chat. I will do it myself.
This thread can also be used to talk about the relationship between models and mods, ask for advice, etc.
Re: Chaturbate: the model-moderator relationship
I had similar problem.
If he is generally nice person who tips maybe he cant afford 3000 tk per night but tips for appreciation from time to time. I may allow him to watch a show plus he looks at me for free on freechat.
But if he helps just to get freebies fuck no.
I saw how my mod misuse it. He was jealous fucker and also pulled that shit "im helping you" but he got some freebies but he was demanding more and MORE. He felt like he should watch it everyday.:O:O:O:O
He got a ban::)
Re: Chaturbate: the model-moderator relationship
I have one mod and I'm new to CB, havent cammed there too much, but I had a guy who came in and tipped me 400 tokens off the bat and I gave him my "phone" number cuz he wanted it, now I notice how he is kinda jealous in chat and is always bugging me to chat with him when he hasn't spent a dime on me since that initial contact which was over a month ago. I like him, he's nice, but I feel like just cuz he's a Mod, he thinks he's exempt from paying me anymore and that's not gonna fly. Awkward relationship with Mods sometimes. :/ So sorry, I dont really know the best option for you. I'd just talk to him about it. Let him know if he can at least tip in a certain amount (less than most others), he can see all the shows, like if he tips in 500 to everyone else's 1000+, then he can have access to all special shows or something? Idk.
Re: Chaturbate: the model-moderator relationship
Have a written agreement of some kind with mods that clearly outlines what they get in return for their services.
Re: Chaturbate: the model-moderator relationship
If someone demands anything from you, let them go. A moderator should understand a cam room and expectations better than anyone. They should understand that each model is different, and they should respect your rules. If you don't want to let anyone into your password show for free, a good mod will respect that.
Do, of course, show your appreciation for the people who help you, but do so in a way that you are comfortable with. Put their name on your profile, make a fan sign, send a dm on twitter, etc.
For me personally, I am more likely to set my crazy ticket app to allow moderators in the show if the moderators do not ask for that sort of thing.
Re: Chaturbate: the model-moderator relationship
I would ban him. Because I'm sure you could find another reg to be a moderator.
Re: Chaturbate: the model-moderator relationship
I don't do mods. I get to much pleasure of kicking trolls out myself.
Nor do I know any of the guys who offer to be mod enough to run the room the way I do.
How do you know they wont kick out their competition & keep you from making money?
Do they really help promote & make you money is something you have to ask yourself?
