too skinny for urban clubs too fat for upscale clubs
Ok what do you do when you're too skinny for an urban club but to fat for a really upscale club. The thing is my personality and style of dancing fits more of a gown club but my body type isn't there I was thinking about joining a gym I want to at leat lose 20 lbs which I know I can do in a month because ive done that before it's just I want to work in the mean time while losing weight I don't want to wait until after i lose weight to work. But I also don't want to work at a dive dongt know if I'll be safe dont know if I can handle that I don't want to be stressed but I need money to move on to a better club .what should I do?

Honestly a lot of it depends on your location. Is there anything between a gown club and a dive in your town? I'm pretty thick but I managed to get into a pretty good club. A lot of it is just constantly putting yourself out there, and another aspect is honestly whichever manager is in when you audition. Some will let you in, others want nothing to do with you.
What I do whenever I audition at a club (and this has helped a lot!) is call at most an hour before you plan to go in and audition. Confirm that the club is still doing auditions and tell them that you'll be there within x amount of minutes (I usually just say I'll be there within the hour). This way you're at least 90% guaranteed an audition and they can't immediately turn you away at the door. I'm bigger (at 175lbs) but I know how to dance and engage with customers on the stage, which matters much more to the club. Shove your foot in the door and show them that you are a worthwhile investment for the club, since weight can be lost but you can't gain a personality.
Just realize that you'll most likely be stuck at day shift until you can lose the weight. But a lot of clubs will let you hang around later (mine lets me stay until 10pm) so you can still make a bit of money until you can get nights. Dives aren't terrible and you might make better money, just really ask around and try out a few clubs. If you don't like one, you can always just walk out ;D
Good luck babe!
