Cheetah Atlanta, told no but told to come back...need advice
Hey ladies, a few weeks ago I decided I wanted to take the plunge and be a dancer at the Cheetah in Atlanta. Ive never danced before. I had decided I was going to go in at the start of the night shift on like a Tuesday. However, last Weds night a friend of mine was out and went there and told me to come out. It was like midnight. He knew I wanted to be a dancer there but I told him I was not going to audition that night. He introduced me to another dancer who was super nice. Him and her were friends before she started working there. She offered to introduce me to the house mom, Heather. So I met her and she was awesome. Said she could give me a quick look right then and I agreed to go to the back so she could see me without my dress on. She said I was a "no brainer." She went to talk to the manager and came back and said that normally they don't audition that late but he was cool with it. I wasn't really anticipating auditioning that night but she seemed to like me so much I felt good about things. I get up and dance and after, she calls me down and says "ok this never happens but he said no for some reason." I asked her what should I do and she suggested a spray tan and thigh highs. I'm in good shape - 18% body fat, I do crossfit and eat healthy but like lots of women, I have a little bit of cellulite on the back of my legs. I'm assuming that's why the manager said no? I made $100 tip during my audition :)
Regardless, I did what she said - got a spray tan and thigh highs and went back last night which was almost a week later. I sat at the bar waiting for my audition time and the bartender said I was a shoe in - that it's rare for girls like me to walk through the door (although, I saw a lot of gorgeous girls there!) A few others dancers also told me I was a shoe in. I was told a different manager would be there last night but another housemom came up to me and said the same manager was there. She said her and Heather talked and agreed I should come back Sat night when they knew a different manager would be there. So I told her I would.
On my way out, a bouncer came outside and told me that I should audition for day shift instead. He said if the first manager said no and Saturday's manager finds out, he may say no too just out of principle. But he said those managers have nothing to do with day shift and then over time I can get some night shifts. I then said "well, can't I come in on Saturday and give it a shot and if for reason they say no again I can come back and try for day shift later?" Right now I'm a nanny during the day and am committed to that til July. He replied "well you could do that and they will either think wow this girl really wants to work here OR this girl is annoying and won't take no and you'll be blacklisted from the club."
My gut is to do what the housemoms advise and go in on Saturday night but should I consider what the bouncer said at all? This is a new industry to me and I don't know how things work exactly. What do you guys think about all this? I really want to work at the Cheetah. I'm responsible, drug free, drama free, not catty and I really would enjoy dancing.

You're beautiful! The first guy was probably either having a bad day, you weren't his type (some managers only want to hire girls THEY are attracted to as stupid as they are) or it could have been your lack of experience. You never know with these guys, that doesn't matter now though. I'm happy you got the job. Congrats!
