Is norton AV causing my room to crash?
Hey ladies...
I have a question, I feel like a dork asking this but I am going crazy tonight and need advice please.
LSS I always used a Mac for everything. I got a PC to stream for camming on Black Friday in October, and I'm rather clueless when it comes to PCs (I basically got it to stream). My antivirus expired recently on the PC and this week my bf installed Norton on it. Today is the first time I've streamed since the antivirus was downloaded. For the past 3 hours my encoder is crashing like crazy. I went into my Chrome settings and turned off all the extensions thinking it might help, still no luck. It started off as crashing every 10/15 min when I first signed on, and now I can't even get my video to show in a new window and the room crashes within 3-5 minutes. (it says I'm in private and in the chat room guys can type but not see me). And I keep getting a "we detected a crash" pop up on the SM encoder. When closing/reloading the encoder.
TL; DR... my question is this: is it possible that the Norton antivirus is interfering with my encoder/streaming? Perhaps some sort of safe site filter interfering? Every other site I've test tried is working fine, my internet speeds are awesome. (282 down, 5 up)
:frown:  :worried:
Re: Is norton AV causing my room to crash?
GET RID OF IT!!!! The real time anti virus protection can kill your cpus, and that shit is like a virus to get rid of, wiki how how to get it off your system. Get windows defender and malware bytes.
Re: Is norton AV causing my room to crash?
Thank you so much for replying KitCatt! I had a feeling it was the case but wasn't sure if I was just going crazy. I haven't heard of Windows defender & malware bytes but I will def look into it!
Re: Is norton AV causing my room to crash?
Yup I second Kitcatt. Had to get rid of AVG too because of it conflicting with camming. I would lose it and just run a normal weekly scan!
Re: Is norton AV causing my room to crash?
i have avast and the only problem i get is that when i try to open adultphonepal, it says their protocol is dated and not safe and it wont open the site up, so i have to turn it off and then on when im finished poking around the site. i have also antimalware and defender.
