Re: The Official 'What's On Your Mind?' Thread!
Had a talk with my psychiatrist today, I told her I'm so emotionally exhausted with covid, pandemic, climate change and so much going on. I don't see things getter better, it's only getting worse. I'm feeling so pessimistic right now and that's just how it is.

I'm sorry you're having a hard time sis. It is easy to slide down into depression when it all surrounds us. I remember what you always say "New Year Same Hoe". We can only hope and pray that 2022 is brighter than the last two years.

I'm waiting for my covid test results. I took the test yesterday. Whatever it is, it's not the worst virus I've ever had, just really weird symptoms that come and go.

Hope you get to feeling better soon!
I am still waiting on my results- I took the test on Tuesday. CVS told me it might take up to 4 days to get the results.
Monday I felt like someone was standing on my chest, then I got a sore throat. I took Mucinex to break up the congestion- got the chills- no fever. Felt like trash Monday- Wednesday started to feel better on Thursday. it's weird I wake up and feel like I am good. Then a couple hours later, my body is like nah...get some sleep.
No fever though.

That's what I was told also. 2 to 4 days at Walmart/Quest Diagnostics.
Your symptoms sound similar to mine but a little different. I started with a sore throat, headache and a little head congestion on Christmas Day. Those hung around all week. I have been getting random pains in different areas but they don't last long. My main symptom today is shortness of breath. I had a lowgrade fever earlier tonight but not now.
Like you, sometimes I feel much better but then it hits again.
I hope you get feeling better soon too!

Re: The Official 'What's On Your Mind?' Thread!
I appreciate the thought but you misunderstood my post. This wasn't about depression. I was just saying I'm emotionally exhausted with so much that's been going on. A lot of people also feel this way. With everything that goes on in the country and globally, I would find it very unsettling if people don't feel exhausted in some ways or they must be lying.
On depression my therapist did a year end review and said when I first seeing her my depression was at an 8 now it's at a 2 which is really good.
New Year, Better Hoe!

My friend who has Covid said that the only thing that really separated it from the flu is that with the Covid she’d be feeling better for a while and then all the sudden it would come back full force.

Re: The Official 'What's On Your Mind?' Thread!
Waiting is the hardest thing. Did they put the swap way up your nose? That creeps me out. There has to be other ways to test for covid.
People are really focus on covid and death. Death isn't the only side effects of covid.
Death is permanent while some effects can make your live a living hell and greatly affect your well being.
I know some people that got a lot of hair, thick hair but after getting covid, they hair have thinned out so much that it's affecting their self-esteem.

You are correct.
a lot of the “debt” was regular bills piling up. She would give them 20 bucks and have anywhere from 300 and some up to 900 (gas)
she’s been letting things build up
the debt I’m responsible for if I want to keep the condo, is huge.
I do want to keep the condo for her and after she moves away. I’ll need memory care but hopefully not soon.
it is 77° here today but we’re supposed be getting snow on Monday:O

A lot of days that's all I do that's why I'm right with God. I even use my favorite scripture as my signature.
2 Corinthians 5:7
'If you keep running into dudes who only want to fuck you, it may be God's way of telling you to sell pussy."

It was 68 this morning with 98% high humidity. That's not normal for this time of year. Climate change is real!

Re: The Official 'What's On Your Mind?' Thread!
My test was negative. Yay!! It's possible I had it but it no longer showed up after a week. Whatever it was, I'm just happy to feel better.
Where I went, I stayed in the car while the pharmacist sent the kit and instructed me what to do. I didn't have to stick it up my nose too far but it did irritate my sinuses for a little while.

Re: The Official 'What's On Your Mind?' Thread!
It's 10 degrees here and we had snow and ice overnight. Not much accumulation but the cars are all icy. I heard people scraping all morning. I'm thankful I don't have to go anywhere.
It has been unusually warm until now. I have never seen such a drastic change in a short period of time.

New Year, Better Hoe!
I stopped watching the news several months ago. I turn it on about once a month and same thing as last time. Rarely do I watch tv. Negativity can become a pattern, an overwhelming one for me. Doing so much better with my energy, getting projects done & focused on what is good for me. It takes a bit to do this, especially if you are an empath of any kind.
Covid will mutate and get weaker & weaker. Our Earth has the ability to heal itself, I remember in the 70s & 80s about acid rain and our water becoming toxic. Laws were pasted and we turned it around, have a bit of faith in that department. :)
We can do small things to help change the world for the better and then be a beacon of love and light to help others. Chin up my darling, this is much to be hopeful about too.

If she's on SS only, I can see how debt could pile up fast. She's lucky to have you to help her out. Good and caring kids make all the difference.
A few companies halfheartedly tried to get us to pay my father in law's debt after he passed. He was upside down in his car payments.

New Year, Better Hoe sounds better!
I think most of my problem with feeling sick off and on is being exhausted and not taking time to rest when I didn't feel well. Self care is absolutely vital in these times. This should be every hoe's New Year's resolution.

Re: The Official 'What's On Your Mind?' Thread!
Tomorrow morning my daughter leaves for her big move across the country. This is a HUGE change and I am going to miss the hell out of her.
She stayed with me this last month so I got to see her a bit more, which I am thankful for. This change is hard.

Re: The Official 'What's On Your Mind?' Thread!
To those of you who live where there is snow and ice. Please be extra careful!! I fell on the concrete last night and busted the right side of my chin. Other parts are sore too. I was extremely lucky not to have broken anything or hit my head.
I was trying to go borrow a space heater from my ex because my central heat went out at 1am. The thermostat was completely blank. My ex told me his heat was out too. Everything else gas in our homes were working so it was really weird.
I tried calling emergency maintanance but their pager wasn't working. The manager called and apologized today.
By sheer luck, I called the electric company because I couldn't get ahold of the gas company's emergency number. The lady on the phone suggested that I try replacing the batteries in my thermostat. Viola...it worked!! Unfortunately, my ex's heater is still broken. These things seem to always happen on weekends.

((((hugs))))
I always assumed my daughter would live with me forever. lol she did not leave to go live at college bc she didn't want me alone and I thought we were saving dorm fees
All it took was a engagement and she left home..... (she lived at home while in school)
I'm not a picture person. very plain.... i took a wall and hung all her photos, i put a table underneath burning candles, adored them nightly lol until a friend came over and he said it looked like a memorial. talk about grieving and not realizing it.
these are our babies. I still don't know how to act.
