Is that the same as a slow cooker? I love cooking but sometimes I ran out of ideas on what to make. I want to make eggrolls on the weekend.

Yeah a crockpot is the same as a slow cooker. It's just a brand of a slow cooker- it's a bad habit.
Ooohhh I love me some egg rolls! I go to pinterest when I get tired of making the same stuff over and over again.

The slow cooker I got for a wedding present back in 1983 finally broke. That was sad.

If it’s one of the white ones with vegetables on the pot… Rest In Peace OG. You paved the way for bigger and better.
heaven has pot roast, potatoes and onions w carrots waiting to simmer for eternity
you will never suffer again from burnt sides, stored in dark creepy places in cabinets or on top of the refrigerator. You made it 40 years, given you manufactured before sold to a couple that eventually had to decide who would take you to simmer you until you died.
You probably took secrets to the grave… that head on a platter… and we are forever grateful. :'(;D
I’m very sorry for your loss

Thank you for your condolences. It was this one. An inovative design. The first that actually lifted out!

This picture brings back memories. I have never had an appliance last this long. No hiding behind pots and pans in the cabinet. I always kept it proudly on the countertop by the toaster.
I do have secrets but if I told you, you would end up like platter man.

Made Vietnamese Egg rolls today. I could eat them all. Time consuming but it was worth it.

Re: The Official 'What's On Your Mind?' Thread!
I had to get up at 9 a.m. today to get to the mechanics.
I usually get up at noon, or 1 p.m.
After that appt I ran several errands.
I got home at 6 pm.
I looked at the clock, thinking it was late, but it was only 9 pm.
I'm forcing myself to stay up, even though I've been dragging my ass all day because I don't want to wake up early. I detest mornings! Too many people are out and about.
Vampire life.
Lol

I hear you. Altough I wake up at 4-5 AM (and it's a real struggle lol, but it feels good once I am awake). If I wake up at that hour, I feel perfect, it's quiet and peaceful. Grocery shopping at 6 AM feels like the whole store has been opened for me, waiting me with fresh, untouched fruits and meat :)))
Especially during summer, when I am at the country side and having the coffee and breakfast on the porch, with the early morning summer smell, before the ugly heat strikes at 10-11 AM... oooohhh! Blisss!
Waking up at 8-9 AM feels like u do... everyone is awake and it feels weird.
I kinda miss the night shifts, tho... also going to sleep at 5 AM and waking up when people drag their ass trough the middle of the day, coming to life when people go to sleep, is pretty nice.
I might go back to it for a month, lol. But not now, maybe from October... during summer I like day shifts.

Yeah it's been a month since I haven't woke up at 3... need to work it back. Actually today my alarm went off at 3 and I did fall asleep for 10 minutes, only to look at the clock and see it's 5:30 AM :)))))

It's a challenge to wake up like that, but so worthy :)
ah "I'll sleep only for 10 minutes" is the real risk game ;D

Re: The Official 'What's On Your Mind?' Thread!
That's late for me :)
I'm up by 5am. I'm a morning hoe.
It's the opposite for me but it could be my town, less people are out in the morning.

Re: The Official 'What's On Your Mind?' Thread!
Maybe you can get an airfryer to cook in your room? And a small fridge?

I get it. I was always an early riser when I lived in the city. 4 a.m.-7 was when the world was quiet.
I now live in a town populated by mostly retired seniors ( purposely because I'm older too, and need a slower pace).
They get up early and take over the roads/stores until 6 pm when the town slows down.
That's when I go out and run errands, grab a coffee, etc.
Yesterday when I was out for the appt, it was stimulus overload to be around that many people.
I kept bumping into shoppers at the supermarket. Lol
The roads/bank/gas station were a nightmare to maneuver through.
And don't get me started on my noisy neighbors.

Well damn! I didn't realize it happened until I read this post. I'm an early riser but I was a bit confused when I first woke up this morning. My father, may he rip would call me the night before daylight savings to make sure I didn't miss a class or work. Even after we all went digital he'd still call to remind me. It was an excuse to be fatherly. He gave me a strong work ethic and I miss that man.❤️

My Gawd, the poetry! A few months ago I found an old school crockpot just like that and it works perfectly. I got it at a thrift store. As much as I love my ninja, there's nothing like an og crockpot.

I had no idea either so it makes no difference to me, lol.

Made some Oriental food today. This was the last pack of Greenwise chicken wings at Publix so they were meant for me :)
browned then sauteed chicken wings with garlic, ginger and scallions. Served with Sauteed Spinach and Jasmine white rice.

You are a food artiste. You have inspired me to cook more. I have not eaten out in months, except one family dinner at Olive Garden.
-
Re: The Official 'What's On Your Mind?' Thread!
LOL, you have turned yourself into 'cook at home hoe'! I still get chick fil a once or twice a week but I really don't consider that eating out. It's no fancy at all.
And you know I can't live without their crispy, delicious and homophobic chicken sandwiches.

Re: The Official 'What's On Your Mind?' Thread!
Insurance needs a exemption letter for vyvance (adhd)
The psychiatrist said we can try adderal.
anyone take adderal? (Side question…. Lol does it help weight?)
———
ETA: insurance has approved this months meds. We tried the other adhd meds 10 years ago.
The dr said I’m not the only one w this letter and maybe the drug is more expensive to make.
That sucks bc vyvance is 400.00 or more before a price hike depending on the weather.
Luckily I do have insurance but have to pay full price until my insurance stays kicking in.
