Thinness and money making
Hi ladies and maybe gentlemen who knows,
sorry if this is supposed to be in the "body business" forum or somewhere else, i wasnt sure where would be best to post so my apologies if this is the wrong section.
Anyway, I started dancing in May and back then i was tiny. I'm 5'5" with an athletic/muscular build and boobs, and at my thinnest I was 110. I looked extremely tiny and was constantly getting comments on how skinny I was and had no fat on my body, and I did very well at the club averaging around $500-$700 a night at a fairly slow club. Guys got rooms with me pretty much every shift. I stopped dancing for 6 weeks and am now 118-120. It doesn't seem like much but I look completely different! I'm larger all over and no longer look super tiny, which I am honestly having a difficult time coping with. I still do relatively well at my new club where I'm on day shift averaging $400-$500 on weekdays and $900 on fridays but I hardly get rooms anymore and i can't help but feel like I would do better if I was still skinny. I find it odd myself but men really did seem to like how small I was. Has anyone else experienced weight changes and noticed a change in your money, or does it even matter? Is there a larger market for thinner women, or are average-larger sized women more appealing to most men? I realize these questions are a bit asinine since it's all relative BUT i'd still like to know if anyone else has thought this way too.

Re: Thinness and money making
I was never skinnier but if you felt better and more confident than lose the weight. It is not that much.

Re: Thinness and money making
Perhaps it is not so much your slight weight gain, but your mental drop in confidence? If you aren't coming across as confident because in your mind you don't quite look how you want to look, then I am willing to bet that is the reason for any slight decline in money. Not trying to dismiss you but 10 pounds wouldn't be enough to make you look that different, especially you being 5'5 (that isn't super short so 10 pounds would only be a slight difference.)
To answer your question the classic stripper look is skewed towards the skinny side, but I've noticed nowadays that is really changing. Thicker girls are banking all the time. And when I say "thick" I don't mean that as a euphemism for fat AT ALL. To me "thick" just means having some shape. Think Aria Giovanni. But in any case, you say you are 5'5 and 120, that sounds thin to me. I am 5'4 and at 140-150 I am in great shape (though not skinny) but not jiggly at all. I know that sounds quite heavy, but for my body type I look lean at that weight. So I guess my other point is weight and height is all relative anyways.
I am sure you look hot, but if it bothers you it shouldn't take too long to drop that extra 10 pounds.

Re: Thinness and money making
Yes.
Generally the skinnier you are, the more "cold sales" you get- i.e. guys saying yes to dances without having to really be pushed or sold at all. And thinness means more likelihood of getting hired at better tier clubs.
This is not discounting confidence or sales skills etc, and it doesn't mean that larger girls can't bank. Lots of them do, and lack of sales shouldn't make you go "oh well must be my body type", as there is always something in your hustle that can be improved. But it means that thinner, more stereotypically stripper body types have an easier time in most clubs, and have higher earning potential because they have more options of places to work.

Re: Thinness and money making
It could definitely be a mental thing. BUT, different face shapes, haircuts, outfits, etc. will look different and more/less flattering on different weights and body types. It plays into your overall look, if that makes sense?
For example, I weigh all of 100 lbs at 5'6 & have 'runway fashion' type features so I dress for that... if I were to gain 10 lbs it'd all go into my stomach and face no matter what I did, and then I'd probably see a drop in $$ unless I started wearing dresses and contouring my makeup.
So... did your weight gain go to unflattering places? Are your outfits hanging differently? If you can't/don't want to lose the weight, can you do anything else (like different outfits, haircut, etc.) to get your old confidence back?

Re: Thinness and money making
I've never been "skinny" I'm just not built that way. I have natural muscle and curves and my thighs are especially thick, my weight also fluctuates a lot, so I can't speak as someone who has ever been skinny, but I can speak as someone who is on the thicker side in the industry. It's definitely way easier to get hired at clubs if you're skinny or petite, even if the person isn't necessarily attractive. Clubs are more likely to turn me down when they already have a lot of girls on their schedule than a petite leggy girl.
I feel like some of the things mentioned above were spot on. I think it could be your confidence level dropping messing up your money. I know when I gain weight my confidence goes down and so does my money, but other girls who are a good 20-30 pounds bigger than me and love their bodies will outsell me because they are confident and love their bodies. So I would say work on your confidence and it will go a long way.

Re: Thinness and money making
Yes, but not over a weight gain of five or ten pounds, esp not at 5'5 which is what I am. I had to gain 30-40 pounds for it to fuck up my money. I Just lost it all again and can't wait to go back because yes thinness does matter. I think everyone has an optimum weight and going above or below too far can fuck things up but there's a good amount of in between unless it's like ALL going to your gut or smthg.
I honestly think it's confidence and getting into a bad place mentally and having that spiral downwards.

Re: Thinness and money making
I have to agree with what everyone else said but have to add it's not always about weight but about how fit you are. I'm the same height as you and make more at a fit 130 than I did at a less fit 120. But I'm also much, much more experienced and confident than I was at 120. Guys do love spinners but if you are fit you will be fine with a slight weight gain. My sales do start suffering once I start pushing 140 though.

Re: Thinness and money making
yes, i totally feel you on this. last year i went from 100lbs to 115 and noticed a big drop in earnings. i'm only 5'2" so it really was noticeable. i was used to just standing around and waiting for someone to whisk me off to VIP no questions asked (like you). not to sound cocky but that's really all i ever had to do, even in vegas. after i put on weight i noticed this happening WAY less and it was extremely discouraging. i was honestly not used to having to work that hard and the blow to my confidence made it worse because i felt so awkward and like no one wanted me to come up to them. i think it's definitely a combo of both- guys do like really skinny girls, and they like confidence. i think the high rollers often tend to go for skinny girls..
anyways i obviously was never big, but sounds like you aren't either. so it's completely possible to make the same at either weight but imo you 100% have to try harder and fake the confidence (which can be tough). you could go that route for now, or maybe just try and lose the weight again? that's what i ended up doing eventually and in the meantime it was really good for me to learn to act more confident and stop being a lazy hustler ::)

Re: Thinness and money making
Im fit and muscular, and some weight went to my boobs/ass. I mean I do like being thin but i'm still confident, I find it weird that guys like such tiny girls like aren't curves and shape good too?

Re: Thinness and money making
^you look the same in both pics.

Yeah I don't really see a difference either tbh
And when we're using "thinness" I'm not talking about absolute weight, rather the appearance. A girl who is toned at 125 will have more success (generally) than a girl at the same height who is 110 but out of shape. And girls who gain weight in a more hourglass pattern (mostly to breasts and thighs/butt) can get away with a lot more fluctuation than those who tend to gain it in less desirable places (stomach, back of arms, etc). But ultimately thinness is still the beauty standard, and even if it changes strip clubs are going to be at least 25 years behind just because the crowd with money to spend tends to be an older demographic. When guys talk about curvy girls in a strip club context it's usually a dancer who is slim but has a boob job/bbl, not how we would use it outside of work.
In the past, larger bodies were considered the beauty standard because food was scarce- the ability to be heavier was seen as a sign of wealth and health. Now that we're in a society with an excess of literally everything, smaller body types are seen as more desirable.
Furthermore, there is still a stigma attached to admitting that one likes larger bodied women, even if it is the case. Men who seek out those body types tend to prefer to do so privately- BBW camgirls or escorts, etc. In the strip club, your choice of dancer is in public, even more so if they came as part of a group. Choosing a more conventional or model type looking dancer is "safe" even if he would have preferred a larger girl. Choosing a dancer who is seen as "bigger" at all is as bad as telling the group "I'm into fat girls" in their mind.
Notice how when guys come to the club in a group, they often have a "wolf pack" mentality and when one member decides that girl x is the "hottest" or whatever that will be their favorite for the rest of the night, even though it's odd to have a group of multiple guys with identical tastes? A lot of guys lack the self confidence to really be assertive about their own preferences and just go along with social pressure.
Anyways this got long but that's my 2 cents on some of the "why".

Re: Thinness and money making
thinness helps. that being said, thick girls can make money too. ive never been skinny because its not my frame, but my body type now is very fit and toned. honestly, i made the MOST money of my dancing career when i was 10-20lbs heavier than now, but my hustle at the time was fuckin on point and i was definitely in the top 3 earners of my club. for a minute i was too thick to go on stage, but my club gave me a special contract where i was paying lower fees than other girls and didnt have to pay the avoid stage fee because i sold so many rooms at the time. But, like i said, my hustle was on point. Now, im one of the higher earners and sales require less of a push than they used to since im in a lot better shape, but i used to make more money because i was a lot pushier. So, a lot of it is all in your head

Re: Thinness and money making
I used to be 15 pounds heavier, I'm now about 110-112 and 5'6. (Small boned) didn't realize I gained the wait til I decided to weigh myself one day so then I started eating better and lost the weight but either way no difference in earnings. Maybe if I knew how much weight I had put on it would have affected my mindset and therefore my earnings

Re: Thinness and money making
No. I think you're experiencing a mental thing. Unless you're literally Obese with a clay body - Weight only maters to superficial dudes. (Even if you were obese with clay body there would be some dude who would like it and pay for it).
Asshole guys spot insecurity and the quickest way to make a woman feel like sh*t? Insult her weight/body.
I've seen the full range of crack skinny to obese women make money.
Me personally I think being "average" size like between 2-6 is the best advantage.
A lot of these men have average size women at home like size 6 and up so the come to the club for the fantasy and most men's fantasy is a model type body. Now bigger and skinnier girls will still make money because there is something for everyone.
***i actually like your after pic better but you look great either way.

Re: Thinness and money making
Now that I'm seeing your before and after pics I definitely think it's just your confidence. You probably subconsciously think about the fact that you gained weight and it's effecting your confidence even if you don't automatically realize it. It's weird how these vibes can come off you even if you aren't aware of it. I don't think it's your appearance. To me, you look petite and pretty before and petite and pretty afterwards. I would not have been able to tell you gained anything.

Re: Thinness and money making
Yeah this a definitely a confidence thing hun. Your beautiful and personally I like the way you look now vs before. I know some say there is no difference but I see a big difference. You look healthier with the weight and your skin tone lookes better to and I only took a glance at the pics. Work on your confidence and you should be able to get back to the money you were making before in no time.

Re: Thinness and money making
I honestly am so grateful for all you beautiful women on here that took the time to comment on this, it really makes me amazed and so happy to be a part of this community. I am starting to realize that it is all in my head and truth be told it's nice not to be covered in bruises all the time anymore. I wish I could give back to you all as much as you have to me so please all of you PM me if you ever need anything or just want to talk! So much love <3

Re: Thinness and money making
being thin will definitely help you make money(unless you are anorexic thin). I'm about OPs height/weight and the same thing happened to me.

Re: Thinness and money making
During my dancing years I was 5'7'' at around 125-180 lbs. I made more money when I was 145-150 lbs. In recent years I've gotten lazy & careless about weight so I'm around 200 lbs right now, the heaviest I've ever been in my life & refuse to step foot into a club at this weight. When I realized the stigma attatched to bigger girls & spenders I got sick of dancing & my sales dropping as well as my body confidence bc I was fighting an uphill battle with being turned away from many clubs for my size. I have a bigger frame anyways so even at my skinniest I looked gross & srsly do NOT want to be that small ever again. I started camming recently & haven't looked back. I doubt it's you hun, self confidence can kill everything, it's truly fatal to any sales.

Re: Thinness and money making
I decided to stop weighing myself because I'm happy with what I see in the mirror and it only turns to shit when I see how much I weigh. My confidence is back and I'm making more money than ever and people are telling me I look great :) confidence and attitude is everything! I work too hard to make myself feel bad for eating chocolate! Once again thanks to whoever has commented and shared their experiences. Gothbarbie, im glad camming is working for you! I'm horrible at it lol
