Re: Thinness and money making
I've always been petite, but last summer I was very thin. I returned back to work after weeks of being physically ill due to anxiety (I'm managing it way better now). I had lost at least 10-12 lbs and was very unhappy with that, but I still made money. I've gained 20 lbs since then and still make AT LEAST as much as I was making 20 lbs ago. I'm still pretty petite but a little curvier than before, my boobs are bigger and a lot of the weight went to my ass, so I get rained on more and my ass is a bigger and better asset than it was when I was even thinner.
I think a thin waist is the most important thing for someone's overall physique. A thin waist gives you an hourglass shape whether you're thin or of average weight.
Re: Thinness and money making
There's a guy for every body type. However, when it comes to getting hired weight will definitely make a difference. Not that you won't get hired somewhere but some places will definitely turn you down for not being thin enough. Right now I'm at 160lbs and feel so self conscious. It hasn't stopped me from making $$$ but I still feel really self conscious. I won't even wear two pieces anymore even thou I see girls way bigger than me rocking them. I won't until my stomach is flat. That's me in my avatar and I'm trying to get back to that. A bigger girl with great hustle skills will nearly always out earn a thin dancer who doesn't know how to sell. Confidence is everything. Fake it til you make it and in the meantime hit the gym!
Re: Thinness and money making
Being underweight worked out better for me, pre-boob job. I once lost 10 lbs in a week due to food poisoning (I weighed about 95 lbs), went back to work with barely any energy, and did a pathetic stage dance with whatever muscle was still left... And the tips poured in, guys freaking loved it. o_O Not to mention the tons of compliments from other girls/staff. Makes me sad, lol
Now I'm about 115 lbs (I'm 5'4") but I have big fake boobs that give me an hourglass figure rather than a pear shape. I make EASY money now, but still go home with about the same as before, because I'm less of a hustler. My pear-shaped itty-bitty-titty-committee self of 5 years ago was a fucking shark, need to channel that energy again!
So yes, I think confidence plays a huge role, but also relative thinness. An hourglass shape allows you to be less thin than a pear shape, as long as the proportions are visually appealing.
Re: Thinness and money making
In this business there is no such thing as "too thin." Unless you are working at an urban club or BBW oriented club. I'm ashamed to say that I've fallen off the wagon and now I'm back to square 1. I'm nowhere near as bad as I was the first time around but 5'and 131 isn't flattering. I'll post pics when I'm happy.
Re: Thinness and money making
I hung up my heels about a year and a half ago, but when I was dancing, I was heavier then than I am now, about 5'2" and 165 or so. 38 30 40 were my measurements. I made really good money before my club changed management, I especially made bank off of bachelor parties. They loved me. Once management changed, the money tanked, and I butted heads with said management, so I left. I haven't danced anywhere else since then.
I really think it's all about confidence and personality. Yeah, guys loved my hourglass figure and natural boobs (though I do wish they were perkier...gravity is an evil bitch), but confidence and personality is what sells it. I also had good hustle skills, so that helped too.
It's funny though, now I'm in California (I used to live in Texas), and am having a difficult time getting hired anywhere. I'm smaller now, with "trendy" body proportions (think Ashley Graham, Kim Kardashian, Aria Giovanni, etc): big butt, toned legs, small waist, big boobs. Measurements are 38 26 38 now. I don't really weigh myself anymore because it's depressing (muscle weighs more than fat, I'm happy with what I see in the mirror, blah blah blah), so I have no idea how much I weigh. I've seen girls at clubs I have visited who are about the same size as I am, or bigger, so I have no idea what the issue is. They may just be overstaffed, but I can't help picking at my self-image. Dancing in San Diego is also prohibitively expensive (about $500 in total for an entertainer's license), so I may try Vegas in the winter time during all the conventions. One of my friends danced in Vegas and swears up and down I'd be hired and would do well there. I usually have three to four days off per week from my day job, so I could make it work.
Re: Thinness and money making
Clubs in general these days are WAY too fucking picky when hiring. I understand if you're a BBW like 300 lbs or something but fuck I'm around 200 lbs, not toned but still hot as fuck, and am a shark hustler & can't get hired hardly anywhere in CA. Texas isn't that picky when hiring from my experience. I just think it's bs that for us bigger built girls we get the boot from mngt when mostly auditioning.

This is so true, and backed by science..your waist to hip ratio is the single most important factor in your sex appeal to straight men, regardless of weight (within reason, a healthy body weight will always be most attractive )
But those of us like me who just don't have a curvy bone structure or fat distribution, thin side looks better haha. But if I could choose, I'd love Kim k curves..curviness is a pretty big female-specific characteristic that's also a huge factor in sexual attraction. Petite yet curvy is like my ideal but you can't fight nature o well
Re: Thinness and money making
xxxGothBarbie, they are way too fucking picky! I'm with you. It's so annoying. Especially because clubs here take a percentage of your earnings, in addition to house fees...like dude, I could make this club a LOT of money, but you wanna be picky, so have fun with that.
My friend here has run into a lot of problems trying to get hired, too, and we have totally different body types. She's thin and petite, with these amazing fake boobies that look and feel real (they jiggle and stuff, it's awesome), and she can do all sorts of death defying pole tricks, and she's got a good hustle. If she can't get hired, there sure as hell ain't any hope for me.

I'm hearing more & more horror stories from friends of mine about the rejections these days. It's fucking sad, it really is. If camming can have a different genre of women why the fuck can't clubs?! It's unfair & stupid. I too have hung up my heels for now & have stuck to camming bc the club mngrs these days are way too fucking picky when hiring & are turning away some of the hottest & talented girls.
Re: Thinness and money making
When I was a fit 130 I felt like a made so much money and when I was 110 i noticed I wasn't earning as much. I'm 5 7 but I also think it has a lot to do with confidence. Was not confident at all at 110 pounds. I think older guys like skinny girls so they don't feel so...weak? Idk.
Re: Thinness and money making
I think the difference might be day shift vs. night, and not weight or body shape. It took me a while to figure out how to make day shift make money for me. A lot more talking with custies is called for. Plus, if you work at a club that serves lunch, sometimes you have to make conversation for twenty minutes just to have a shot at getting a VIP.
Anyway, my $.02, hope it works out. :-)

Re: Thinness and money making
My weight has gone down and my money has gone up. Draw your own conclusions.
Re: Thinness and money making
My money is more consistent now that I'm toned, but I think the top benefit to losing weight is mostly relating to getting hired. The rest comes from confidence from having lost extra lbs in my experience.
Re: Thinness and money making
Lipo is my best friend and eating healthy. I always made money because I am a crazy hustler but its much easier now.
Re: Thinness and money making
i am pretty big boned, but very athletic and flat stomach and taller than most guys here. (i'm in miami and everybody's latin) and i definitely get a ton of comments that I'm too big. I see lots of smaller girls that are out of shape still making money.
Being petite is a plus and if you are tall it's definitely worse to be on the bigger side. But then I see chunky girls banking too. Attitude and a mouth wins.
Re: Thinness and money making
A lot of it is confidence. I know if I have period bloat or if I ate filling food before work, and my stomach is a little bloated I don't feel comfortable in what I'm wearing. Drink lots of water and flush that ish out! And yoga is great for your core too.
Tbh I've always been tall and skinny so it comes easy to me without a lot of work, but sometimes I feel like skinny is a hindrance with some men? They either love skinny or want curvy/augmented curvy. Different strokes I suppose. But skinny definitely helps with being hired imo
Re: Thinness and money making
Honestly being skinny is over rated, I looked back at pics of myself from 8 yrs ago when I was 125 lbs & I looked disgusting. I have no desire to diet for anyone or any club lol I'm making the same if not more from camming & eating whatever & whenever I want but also being respected for my shape & size. Oh ya & did I mention that I never work out?? :) I got a thick ass body & I love myself :)
Re: Thinness and money making
I have always been thin and petite, and it can help... But.. Having Boobs and a gorgeous face WITH skinny, is the real money ticket. I have been hired at many small clubs because Im thin, toned ,and have a great ass, but, while I can hustle, I dont have the boobs ( 33a) or the "best" looks ( Big ass nose) for my 104 lb body.. SO... I work what I got, and found that, as has been said, there are men for every body type, and Looks type too. Girls I know that have gained weight, If they stick to dancing, find they have as different customer base.
And about Lunch, Lunch WAS mentioned hehe.....Ya gotta be ready to use your "Inner therapist" at lunch. I will try to wear Less, and show more skin at Lunch shifts to speed up the "therapy" and on to the money making !
I over heard a Couple club investors discussing a slow dance floor, and having customers pay to slow dance ( can you say GFE) Vs table dances...Who knows what the "rules" on that might be...... could be happening already somewhere
Re: Thinness and money making
I went from 5'6, 140lb of muscle (very skinny), to 130lb with less muscle/more "feminine" fat (B cup, size 5 pants) and started making more money. I started averaging probably $100 more a night and found it "easier" to dance. Just kinda have to bounce the booty and they're impressed instead of a full-on show. Plus when I was smaller, customers tried more to take advantage of me, would grab at my ass/chest so hard it was like they were trying to dig for more that wasn't there, and made more "you look 16" comments.
Re: Thinness and money making
Short and very curvy now. Like a five foot three size six-eight. I've already started losing weight but need to lose more. This year I quit smoking which is hell on your metabolism! I'm glad I did it but can't wait to be down to a size four again! I am a good earner but men love small waists.
Re: Thinness and money making
The more I weigh the better I do usually. My measurements are 40-26-40 and I'm usually 126 at 5 foot 2.I see the skinny girls on day shift usually making old guy money and the thick girls late at night. When I was 110 and 18, I had to work so hard for money that comes easy now.
Re: Thinness and money making
I think it has less to do with how much you weigh, and more to do with your fitness level. girls who is 120 can look fatter than a girl who is 130 and has a lower bf%
Re: Thinness and money making
In this instance I think it is all in the OP's head. It's such a small amount to be noticeable with all the lights etc. I've danced from 130-190 at 5'7". I started heavier and lost weight in my 20s, but at the beginning I was so young and peppy and had such a cute hustle with an insane work ethic that I still made good money. When I got down to 130 I surpassed my initial goal of 140...and it wasn't in a healthy way. Those last 10 lbs were due to stomach problems, anxiety, and overworking myself, and the end result was me feeling uncomfortable and like I was in someone elses body, not to mention the lines that started showing up on my forehead and my boobs getting a bit saggy :( and the always being cold part. Even though I was the lowest weight I had ever been I think it was actually my lowest earning period because I was so unhappy and I think it came through. I gained some of the weight back (lil too much at first), but the whole last few years have shown me exactly where I feel most comfortable and can also maintain healthily. And I've also learned that losing weight doesn't solve all of your problems. Point being, I'm not going to tell you not to eat more healthy and be more active, everyone should do that. But girl don't you dare go fretting so much and leaving $$$$$ on the table over a stupid 10 lbs! Deal with it if you must but get over it, so many more important things for you to dedicate your energy to!
