I need help on how to become a better/more successful cam girl
So I'm really at the end of my nerves at the moment. If this text sounds too harsh please tell me, but I just said what I have on my mind right now.
I'm a cam girl since 2015 October (my 18th birthday) and being a cam girl has never been paying off to me. I made a break from around february to May this year cuz I was fed up from all these sexists who never paid me but who always complained. I'm back since almost 3 months now, I took away the ability for grey users to chat to me in my room (only paying users, on Chaturbate) but it still seems to not work at all. My twitter followers leave me (well okay.....I tend to complain A LOT) and I upload teasing pictures (no nipples or no pussy, all censored) over there, about 5 a week, yet it doesn't seems enough. Whatever I do, it's NEVER enough. I have to lower my prices soo much because of always complaining members, I saw other cam girls having over the half of my prices as their tip menues (so 50 % more), yet people tip them way more than me. It really frustrates me! Also as a little extra info: I cam from Monday to Saturdays, at least 2-3 hours a day (I log off earlier cuz my room is always so empty and no one tips, no matter how much I tease and it becomes exhausting after awhile...). I'm rather slender up my body but thicker on the bottom (many people like me for my peach-shapped big ass). And I also have long hair.
The problem is: In my country (Switzerland) you're a no one without a diploma, and I dropped out of my internship. I don't want to get another one, because I know I will end up quitting them too. I simply want to get into an acting school in England, but that costs again, so I'm waiting for more money.
Sex worker jobs in my country are bad because:
-Bad payment (sex workers tend to rob their clients here, I see that always in the newspapers)
-Men treat you like shit and pay cent-by cent
-You need to travel to the next bigger city, and train or bus costs a lot, that's why I never go out much.
-In my country being a sex worker is a taboo, means my friends will leave me (I have already lost friends due to being a cam girl), my family will kick me out (as they said cuz they don't want me to be a real life sex worker) and everyone on the streets will know what I do.
I used to advertise my cam website on 9Gag but then my ex-coworker found one post, it was very embarrassing!
Now to my question, to all these cam girls who make more than 3-5k a month: What are your secrets? What did you do for mistakes before which I should be aware of? How did you advertise your social networks to get more fans? And what are the right prices for the tip menu? If you have more tipps for me it would be nice.
I seriously really have no idea what to do anymore, I wish to be dead! This is not a life worth living. I feel like a super cheap internet prostitute, no worth and no self esteem and not being able to get my shit together in any ways.
Sorry for that rant-like entry but apparently ranting on my twitter would make my followers to leave more and more and I don't want that anymore!
And sorry for my bad English it's not my mother tongue.

Re: I need help on how to become a better/more successful cam girl
You need to go through this entire forum and read everything you can. No one is going to be able to tell you the formula because there isn't one. I could do something that makes me $1,000 in an hour and you could do it and end up with nothing. That's just how it is.
To be honest, it sounds like you're not putting in enough effort. 2-3 hours is just not enough, especially if it's just during one part of the day.
Stop ranting on twitter, no one likes reading that. No one. Be positive, act positive, and people will like it a lot more. If you don't have the drive to do an internship that could make your life better then I don't think you're going to have the drive to make camming something you can make a lot from.
Most cam girls that make that kind of money aren't on for just a couple hours a day. Many pull 6-10 hour shifts! I did when k was making $6,000 a month. Sometimes I was on for 12 or more hours when the money was really good. It's exhausting, but it's business and you get out of it the effort you put in.
Keep in mind that camming isn't for everyone.

Re: I need help on how to become a better/more successful cam girl
I'm sorry you are feeling like this but if doing sex work is making you suicidal then it's not the profession for you no matter how much or little you make. Sex work is not the end all, be all. It's not for everyone and that's okay.

Re: I need help on how to become a better/more successful cam girl
Marina Starr & justsometwat gave great advice!
Like justsometwat stated you really have to put in the time for camming to pay off IMO. I found that for me to make an amount that I'm happy with I have to atleast do a 5hr shift. Some girls may work shorter hours and reach their goals or longer than that, it's differnt for everyone. FOR ME token based sites just aren't my thing and I prefer private based sites or indy sites where I can do skype shows. Also what I find helps is working multiple sites. When I cam I do 3 indy sites, 1 private based site and 1 PSO sites usually. Somedays I do more sites sometimes less, you have to find what works best FOR YOU. Camming really is trial and error. You could also do other work at home jobs as well that will fill in when you have a bad night of camming. I made it so I have a bunch of things to fall back on if camming is slow for me atm. Camming really taught me not to have all my eggs in one basket and have mulitple streams of income because you never know when you might just have a bad day. But thats all it is a bad day or few days or maybe a week....but I can reassure you it DOES get better if you really put in the time and effort. Hardwork & doing your reserach truely does pay off in camming.

Re: I need help on how to become a better/more successful cam girl
Don't compare yourself to other higher earning camgirls. That's the road to failure and misery. No one is perfect. Striving for perfection and being competitive leads to bad self esteem.
Work on bringing your self esteem back up. That is the number one most important factor in any job where you are selling yourself as a product. If you don't believe in yourself or love your own product, why should anyone else? You need to also be OK with being objectified. It helps to see it this way...you are being admired for your sexual assets, for being a woman and beautiful because men want that kind of attention from the women in their lives.
Also, stop it with putting yourself down all the time. Would you talk that way to a child? Why are you beating yourself up so much?
Find other ways to make money eg. pet sitting, phone sex, erotica, YouTube, Uber, vanilla jobs, affiliate income, other sites. You are Swedish, try Swedish cam sites so you can use your native tongue to your advantage. Many Swedes also know other languages, try other language sites. You say you want to go into acting, make sure you also join some improv/theatre groups so you can hone your craft for free rather than spending it all on a school. The best actors were discovered, they didn't really go to school.

Re: I need help on how to become a better/more successful cam girl
I don't think all camgirls make that much and the ones who do put tons of time and energy into it. I make a small fraction of what your talking about and i've been here 4 years am similar to your body type, long hair, do every fetish, etc... So I really don't think it's a looks thing either. It's personality and TIME. I only put in a couple hours a day. I used to put in twice the hours and I got twice the pay. Many of the girls I think you are referring to spend or have spent 5 times the amount of hours online as you do every day so they are going to make more money and have more fans. Also I've noticed the best way to get high paying regulars it to spend almost all your time online. When you only spend a couple hours on here and there guys will find another girl whos available more often. Most of the high spenders I've had want to feel like they get to know you because you are always on when they are.

Re: I need help on how to become a better/more successful cam girl
girl, if i could make that amount of money being online only 2, 3 hs a day, damn, i would be so fucking thrilled! i put 12hs a day from monday to friday, but i also dont do free chat at all, i couldnt manage that, but seriously, u need to put a lot of hrs on to be able to start to make money. camming aint easy at all, this is a dream. some girls make a lot of money but also other than being online a lot, they work on affiliate programs, on promoting themselves, on clips, on pics and etc....camming its not a glamurous work as u might think, its arduous and many times draining and exhausting. let me tell ya by experience from a cam girl that was away for many years and came back starting from 0, thats me, i was away from camming 6 years and obviiously when i returned i didnt have any regulars, so far im back since march and i already have my regulars, but it took me some good time to build them and im a non nude cam girl, which makes it much more difficult, so if u wanna succeed, put in the hours and the will. english is also not my mother tongue, yet, i elarned all by myself when i first started camming back in 2001, alone, no school, no teacher, just reading and chatting and yet, today, im an english teacher with TOEFL degree. just work hard, make camming ur life if this is what u want for work and man, wake up in the morning thinking how much of a delicious lady u are and why men should pay u. works for me, and when im down, and i do get down sometimes, just go to cam sucks thread and vent. u will feel much better, then go back to cam and smile, because guys dont wanna see u whining, thats for sure, real life for them already sucks, or they wouldnt be going after cam girls. just cheer up, focus and work! reward will come in time.

Re: I need help on how to become a better/more successful cam girl
Bunny. LISTEN TO ME.
This isn't about camming or sex work. This is about you and your work ethic. To be successful you have to be willing to put in the effort and the positivity to even the little things in life- even the things that aren't what you think are your capital-F Future.
It seems like you got into camming because you thought it was easy money. And it can be, once you get the hang of something that works for you, once you get in a rhythm- but it is still a business; you still need to be professional.
Work is not a bad thing. Living a life trying to avoid work is a miserable fucking place, and being ready and able to work and be fine with it will make you much happier and more popular.
And why are you driving away customers with complaining on Twitter? They give you feedback- USE IT! You don't have to complain on Twitter, and you sure as shit don't have to complain on your camgirl Twitter. Make that a happy fun place. Stop teasing so much, it makes you look like a jerk. Just interact more, share selfies that make you look real, talk to customers playing the role of your camgirl persona. You don't have to be Bubbles the Camgirl, but you DO have to stop being Cranky McIHateItHere. They feed off your vibes- if you hate it in your room they will also hate it in your room. So make it fun for you; ban people who make you miserable and don't even give them a second thought. Do whatever you need to to have some fun. They are real people on the other end and they need to be charmed.
You say you want to go to acting school, but that will not be so different to this. They don't like whiners any more than anyone else does. Buck up, kiddo, be strong. Stop watching other camgirls- you of all people should know that you can't see what goes on off camera. Although it definitely sounds like you don't have an "on cam" and an "off cam"! It's a role, Bunny. But, then, all the world is but a stage, and the men and women merely players.
Fake it till you make it. And I mean, once you figure out that you think camming is beneath you, you need to go back to your internship and play that role to perfection.
Good luck. I'm pulling for you.

Re: I need help on how to become a better/more successful cam girl
Hey BananaBunny,
Do not worry, girl! Sex work is not for everyone and can be stressful. However, You need to put in a lot of hours in order to become a very successful cam girl. I put in 6 hours each Friday and Saturday. However, I do marketing 7 days of the week. Plus, I am always writing and planning my cam shows. Plus, I start really working on my body including diet and working out.:) Plus, I do tons of other stuff including phone sex, writing erotica, selling panties, selling texting packages, making clips/mp3s, virtual escorting, and etc... You must ask yourself is sex work really worth your piece of mind? Also, are you willing to work hard to get the money you want? If so, then you need to up your game :)

This isnt the profession for you. Any job that makes you feel like you want to die isnt worth doing. I suggest you try a vanilla job and see how that works out for you.
There is no secret to camming, there is nothing that can instantly make you money. Its a lot of hard work, promoting yourself, putting in the hours, be entertaining, etc.

You should read the Law of Attraction posts. It just might change your way of thinking about things. This business is tough, but if you do feel this badly about yourself, you are not going to attract customers. It starts with knowing your are fucking awesome and beautiful. You might not feel like this, but keep telling yourself different affirmations everyday until you believe it. When you feel good about yourself it just shows up on camera. Perhaps try a different hustle. Have you thought about being a Domme or fetish model? Sounds like getting your mind off of the token sites and trying something new might work. Keep trying a ton of different things until something sticks. Try doing clips and Pvt. Bases sites. Rebrand yourself. If you are worried about being discovered, wear a wig, colored contacts, glasses, ect. Read as much as you can here. There is a ton of great information. Also, try getting a vanilla job, even if it is part time to learn other skills as well and meet people. Don't put your eggs in only one basket. You are young and should be experiencing as much about life as you can right now.
I don't know what your country is like and what you have to deal with but, you have to ask yourself if you feel so bad about being a sex worker because of what your friends, family, society thinks or is it because you truly believe it is wrong? You have to do what is right for you. It is your life. Live it how you want to live and stand proud.

Honestly, if I could give any advice to young aspiring camgirls, it would be to wait a few years and gain some real world work and life experience before getting into this industry. I started camming when I was 24, after I had worked a plethora of other jobs in various fields, where I learned a lot of helpful general skills and work ethic. Vanilla jobs taught me about customer interaction and interpersonal skills, budgeting and finance, staying accountable to a schedule, etc. With camming and self-employment, you're on your own. It's up to you to put in the hours and effort and make your own goals because you don't have a boss to do it for you. Having other work experience gave me so much perspective when I started camming. I would have been so naive to start at 18, and I definitely wouldn't have taken camming as seriously as I do now.
I agree. I always thought 18 was so young and not ready to be in this industry. It probably seems glamorous and easy to make money from the outside, but its not. You should have to be at least 21 to work in this industry, I wish there was a way to enforce that. I dont know if she ever worked another job but she really needs to try one.
I didnt start to cam until after I had a few years as a model under my belt. I didnt just do adult shoots, I did a lot of swimsuit, fetish and fitness modeling too. Before that I had regular vanilla jobs as well and I thought long and hard before I joined the adult industry. I knew it could affect future professions and relationships. I started camming once I burned out from traveling for shoots, I just couldnt be gone all the time anymore.

Re: I need help on how to become a better/more successful cam girl
Actually, I have to disagree with the statement about being 18 and starting in this industry.18 year olds are perfectly capable of making it in this industry. I know this for a fact because I did start this career at 18. In fact, I started this career 3 months after turning 18.:)
Now, the OP sounds like she understand some of what it takes for sex work but she is just at a low point right now. She just need some encouragement or maybe a different type of sex work. but she should not be treated like any other sex industry professional. She is 18 and not a child. She wants to become good in this industry and I hope she does. Maybe she has vanilla experience? We do not know.
Not all 18 years old are naive when entering in this industry and some already had tons of vanilla job experience before entering into this industry at 18. Many sex workers that I know including myself already had between 6 to 3 years of vanilla job experience before entering in this industry. We do not know if the OP has been working in the vanilla field or not? On a personal note; I already had 4 years of vanilla work experience because I started working at 14. Also, I was both a student and butcher while starting my sex worker career at 18. Personally, I do not see how an 18 year old can still be naive in this day and age? Maybe between the Victorian age to 1960s but not in this age of sexual perversion and terrorism meeting you at everywhere. A teenager can just look on tumblr and find all types of hardcore porn. Actually, I feel 18 years olds should enter in this industry if they understand what it takes to make it and have the know how to back it up. The OP seems to understand who sex work works and what it takes. But she needs help to step up her game. :)

Re: I need help on how to become a better/more successful cam girl
I don't think her problem is work ethic or life experience. It's low self-esteem, look at what you are writing girl! "I don't have diploma, I am nothing", "sex workers get treated like shit and my friends leave me", "lowering my prices so much for complaining customers", "logging off after an hour because no one tips". Stop that! I have a goddamn degree and guess how many of my customers care? Zero.
In this industry you need RHINOCEROS THICK SKIN and a really fucking stupid amount of self-love. Firstly because you deserve it (how many people have given you their hard-earned money just to see you on their computer screen?), and secondly because men are easily influenced by a pretty face and if you believe it, they will too. You must believe that you are an amazing, beautiful, sexy, cheeky goddess, and you will be that. You have a body men sacrifice their beer allowance to see, and you can put on a show that makes men 10000km away blow their load all over their keyboards, you magical fucking sex fairy! You put your prices where YOU want them to be, know you are worth it, and don't back down for anyone.
Complaining customers? Hours where nobody tips or wants a show? Everyone gets them. Everyone. A camgirl who loves herself will just ignore the assholes, or ban them, kick them out, whatever. Whiners don't matter. A successful camgirl fobs them off and keeps going. She doesn't log off sadly just because she had a slow hour, she stays the fuck on because she knows she is HOT and these penniless losers can go FUCK THEMSELVES because sooner or later someone with money and taste will come in and spend on her.
Back the fuck up, look in the mirror, see that Swiss sexiness who probably speaks like 4 languages? SO many men will want you. So many European men who are tired of die Englischer frauleins and want someone who sprechen their own ficking language. So many English men who just want to hear a pretty girl with an exotic accent. You have no idea. You could be a goddamned camming juggernaut.

Re: I need help on how to become a better/more successful cam girl
Actually, I mean 4 years of experience....lol I add on 2 extra years. :) I do have to agree with that most girls at any age group thinks that this is easy money and might fall flat. I also have to agree with many people having unrealistic expectations when it comes to this world.I was just saying that the OP does not seem to have naive expectations but does not know enough about marketing and sales to make camming profitable. Also, her lack of self-confidence and fears over what society might say is holding her back. I was just disagreeing with age being the factor.Frankly, the OP seems to be working as cam model for awhile. She seem to come here to ask more experience cam models for help reaching her income goals. Hopefully, she will listen to everyone's advice. :)

Then you're definitely an exception to the average 18 year old, and you're also proving my point in that you actually had other experience when you got into this industry. I'm not saying *all* 18 year olds are incapable or naive, and in no way was I treating her "with kitten gloves." (In fact I posted a lot of realistic advice higher up in the thread.) I'm just saying, most 18 year olds haven't had much, if any, work experience yet. We've all heard that general statistic that the average new cammodel only lasts for a few weeks to a few months before giving up, because they think it'll be quick easy money and don't realize it's going to take actual effort. I just can't help but wonder how many of those girls are in the younger demographic, and if they would have gone about their decisions differently if they had had some more life/work experience.
You said you think 18 year olds "should enter this industry if they understand what it takes to make it and have the know how to back it up" -- that's my point exactly. I agree with that statement. But I would argue that *most* of them don't actually understand that, and instead have very naive and unrealistic expectations, which is likely why so many of them quit or fail.

Re: I need help on how to become a better/more successful cam girl
Please don't look at camming as cheap internet prostitution.. (cause in reality its not, you are selling your time and body image) That in itself will cause you to have problems and people will pick up on that! I agree that if this is causing you to become suicidal, to at least seek assistance within therapy and give this more thought. Life is always worth living for, we will all rest one day! There is no secret formula, special move to instantly gain success with webcam work. It takes time and models bust their ass for 3/5k mo from reading posts between the "camming rock/sucks" threads.. Honestly does takes time and I'm not even close to learning everything.. If your friends do choose to leave you because of sex work, then they may not truly be good friends. I made a crap load of mistakes, giving stuff away for free, falling constantly for false tips, sometimes doing things against the rules, getting into arguments and the list goes on. Tip of advice..try not to lower your prices too much, sometimes I've heard that its better to raise them with time. Please keep your head up and ultimately shine confidence, smile and keep hustling!
On a side note (I can't stop staring at how stunningly beautiful Dita Von Teese is!)

Amen Amen Amen!!
Full disclosure. I had no where near enough self love and my skin was rice paper thin when I was 18, 19, 20, 21. You gotta fall down a few times in life to develop that shit.
If you really WANT to stay in this industry then take all the above advice. Its spot on. For sure get off chaterbate and find yourself a different site and stop putting your price down! If you want to make more money then charge more money.
As for sex work in Switzerland.....I have some great clients up that way. Like really great guys who spoil me and I charge top top dollar for what I do. Also they are straight forward gentlemen, no kink, nothing gross and they all come tested but stories like that are boring to read about in the news so they tend to focus on the negative. Maybe turn off the news for like a year and see if you dont cheer up.

Re: I need help on how to become a better/more successful cam girl
Confidence: love yourself and your body! :) Without the right attitude sexwork will drain you. If you don't love yourself it will be difficult.
Attitude towards sexwork: who cares what "your country" thinks? If this is also your opinion you should stop doing this right now. Otherwise, fuck their opinions --> They're not paying your bills are they? Sexwork is great! It takes a while to build your name and 'brand' but after that hard work the money is good if you stay consistent. What other job has great hours like this? A great community of women to support you?
Input: Try to cam more hours, and maybe take a longer weekend than just 1 day. This is a job, not a get rich quick sceme. You have to put in the hours to make it work. Have you tried camming different times (morning, noon, evening)?
It's a lot about mindset. If this is what you want: go for it, do it. You can succeed! :wizard:

Damn, this is a Camgirl Manifesto right here! I'd like this 1000 times if possible.

Re: I need help on how to become a better/more successful cam girl
I wish I could reach through my computer screen and hug you. Self-employment is HARD. I went through a rough patch camming and I seriously considered giving it up. But I'd had good times before, so I knew I could do it. Self-employment unfortunately is not a part-time gig. I tracked my hours on and off this year from the hours I spend in front of the camera to the hours I spend editing and filming videos, doing social media, blogging, researching, replying to emails...it worked out to 60ish per week. I'm on cam 5 or 6 days per week, and even when I'm indy-only I am logged on for 8-10 hours while editing and loading tweets. On free chat I aim for 3-4 hours followed by indy the rest of the day. Sometimes I scroll through goal threads or daily earnings threads and get frustrated when I see girls making 2-3 times what I make in a day in half the time, so I avoid those threads. They have their money I have mine.
A lot of times on this board you see people struggling who are told to work harder, add more sites, promote more, change their look, change their attitude, upgrade their technology. Sometimes that works. Other times, I think the better solution is to leave the industry. This may or may not be the case for you. But if you have had nearly a year working and you haven't been able to make this work for you, I think there is very little chance that this is the right fit. This work isn't right for everyone (just like the job I went to uni for turned out not to be right for me). There is no shame in leaving sex work.
You say you can't get a job without a diploma. What about retail? Why did you quit your internship? Why are you so certain that you will quit any internship? If you don't want to work full-time hours, you can't expect a full-time income, not from camming and not from non-sex work jobs. If you want to be an actor, you need to dig in with local theatre groups and start getting experience. Get a daytime retail or food service job so your evenings can be free for drama stuff. Don't sit and stew about things that AREN'T working for you...go out and find things that WILL work for you.

Get off chaturbate for a start. Try a pay per min site instead if tokens sites aren't working for you. Sign up with daily pay so you get the money the next day. Buy some daylight bulbs to make you look awesome on cam. Raise your rates to a decent level and don't give shit away free or cheap. And definitely don't rant on twitter or anywhere publicly. Guys want the fantasy girl, don't bring them down with real work crap. Read all of the starting place for camgirls thread x

I dont agree. I have watched 18 year old girls on set get abused and used up. Ive seen sweet girls come into this industry without a clue how it works and get hooked on drugs. Its not an industry for the young or weak, its an industry that has no issue churning out adult stars and getting rid of them two years later. The joke is there is always someone turning 18 because they know most 18 year olds wont last long and can be easily replace. It isnt a matter of them being naive, its a matter of this industry having a ton of predators. Plus I dont think they realize how much this industry can impact you forever. How even after you quit your images will be online for years and there is nothing you can do because you dont own the content.
Seeing porn online is nothing like working in the industry at all. All they see is attractive people in images or video's, they dont know what it takes to get to that point. The OP doesnt not have the mental ability to work in this industry. If she really wants to die, thinks she's a cheap internet hooker and has low self esteem this is the worst job possible for her. She deserves to work in a job that makes her feel good about herself and not make her suicidal.

Re: I need help on how to become a better/more successful cam girl
okay two things:
1. I was told on my first day of camming "treat this as a hobby you will make hobby money. Treat it as a career and you will make career money" I started out camming and now I do phone sex. I make thousands more dollars a year doing phone sex. So maybe you don't need to get out of the adult industry maybe you just need to find the right part of the industry. Camming may have been your introduction but it might have been a stepping stone to something bigger. I actually started on Niteflirt because I did the camming section and I liked knowing I could have them make appointments and I would not have to be made up all the time. Just when they made an appointment. Soon after that I started to do phone sex characters and now I do phone sex full time and I do it very very comfortably.
2. Men who are paying for sex want a "fun girl" they have a nagging wife who complains. They have bills that they have to pay and they have a woman who nags them to do things for her. I can tell you that I do financial domination and I find that when I say "I am going to the casino and I want to play so I am going to use you as my slot machine but I know I am going to win..." I get WAY more money then if I said "I need to pay my phone bill so send me money" Your words tell a person HOW they should treat you. if you say " I never get any money and men are just freeloaders" you have a whole bunch of people who think wow she must be reallybad if no one is paying her.
Let me give you an example. I go into the lounge part of MFC so I can read what customers say about the girls. WHo do they reccomend to each other. It is almost like being in a guys locker room. They would put a link to the girls room and give comments " Oh wow this one has a great ass" or "omg this one is just beggin" or " so and so is running a game and she is so funny" So from watching these comments and seeing how they reacted and who they were sharing with each other I got to see it from their perspective. The girl they were ALL making fun of was talking about how everyone needed to give to her or she was going to start banning. It lasted for almost 2 hours. Guess what else happened in those two hours.. I watched her tips she was getting 5 tokens, 10 tokens etc On the other hand another girl was playing a game and had it on cam and was laughing and joking with them and 40 tks, 50 tks, 100 tkns all while she was laughing and having fun.
Now, from a camgirl perspective girl number two was on point. SHe had made a game and was creative and had something for them to actually to do and interact with. WHen you think about your camming think of yourself as your own infomercial. Why would a guy want to give me his money? What is he "purchasing" if you think looking at your pussy is what he is purchasing you are missing the part that they are really paying for which is human interaction. Think about our lives social media has taken over it is in every area of our lives. Sometimes we don't even say "hi" to our loved ones because we are playing words with friends. So the girls who are like " Oh bobby welcome back I had Such a good time the other day!" and make the customer feel special are why the girls who make the big bucks, make the big bucks.
Final thought: Like my mom said when I went to summer camp " you get out of it what you put into it"

Re: I need help on how to become a better/more successful cam girl
Jane,
Forgive my harshness on this matter but I disagree with you saying this industry is not for the young. That would be hypocritical for me to agree because I started 3 months after my 18th birthday. Sure, it is not for the weak at all. Now, I was never a sweet girl to this industry for day one. None of my adult industry friends were sweet girls or guys either.Sure, that everyone is not like me but I will not allow to make age an factor to the reason why certain people should not be in this industry. If they can not make it, then simply they can not make it. It is not their fault nor the industry's. It more about if they can handle this industry or not. That is totally okay.Frankly, any woman or man can get used up in this industry. It does not matter the age. I have also seen girls and guys get destory by this industry but age was not a factor. Now, I do feel sorry for girls and guys who come into this industry thinking that everything glamorous and good. However it is not.
People may disagree with me but I always will felt that if you are 18 than you are an adult. That is how it is in my culture and many cultures across the world. You are free to make adult decisions and live in this adult world.Frankly, I do not see any difference between the adult industry or the vanilla world. I have worked them both and they will both try to use you up. The only difference in the adult industry is that people are more seductive about it. Men and women are the same in this industry and out of it. I have worked many vanilla jobs and found the same predators as are in the adult industry. If people want to come in this industry, then everyone must and needs to understand that this industry has always been full of predators from day one. If they want to get become porn stars, cam models, psos, and etc...than they need to make adult decisions about their career. They should go do their research, join sex industry forums, and become more proactive when it comes to protecting themselves.
As far as the OP, I feel that she needs some help in the self-esteem and self-confidence department. No industry is going to give her self-respect nor self-esteem at all. She must learn that from within. No job is really going to make her feel better until she stop caring about what society thinks. However, she is young and she is still growing as women.I was just commenting on the part of her post talking about making more money. My second post was addressing how we do not know her situation to comment on if she ever did vanilla work or not. We can not say that her youth is a factor in how she feels about being a cam girl. She could be in 30s or 40s and still feel the same way.
