I find it a bit abnormal, what is sore- the joints and knuckles or the skin?
joint pain. I'm worried about possible arthritis
I would think carpal tunnel before arthritis; over work ing delicate joints, lay off the pole for a bit and see if it improves, otherwise see a doc.

thanks never thought of carpal tunnel. unfortunately it's not so easy to lay off the pole, I'm on a dayshift in a small club and we get run like crazy. it hasn't been as bad lately, but I'm monitoring it
check out Mayo clinic website for carpal tunnel management, last thing you need is to loose grip strength and fall on your pretty face. Can you do more floor work?
yeah I'm trying to incorporate more and doing more holds on the Pole with my arms rather than grip. I will def check that out and keep evaluating
Tendonitis can also cause the same problems. In either case you'll benefit from taking it as easy as you can, and doing lots of stretches.
I've found that adding wrist/forearm work to my gym routine was very helpful, since dancer wrist overwork issues stem more from "putting your entire bodyweight on tiny bones/muscles/tendons constantly" than the advice you usually read given to office workers etc where it's repetitive motion stuff from typing too much. Obviously ymmv and if anything causes you more pain/weakness avoid that.
Try a wrist support band during your downtime. When I had to increase my dancing hours a few years ago I got pain in my wrist and fingers too. I had to lay off the pole tricks for a bit and having the support band helped.
I wear wrist bands, I do have carpal tunnel tho.
I also bought, frm http://www.beautyhabit.com joint support/care cream, Kuumba Made. Has arnica, St John's Wort, chapparel. I just started it
I also got another anti inflammitory cream, Rogues & ONelil warming rub & loving that. They have a lot of natural wellness stuff (the site)
I also have some small plastic spheres infused w some natural stuff, I haven't tried those yet.
