Out to buy a gift, what's your FAV? Any & all!:)
Money!!!
Kind of kidding. My wish list for this year- a dremel, a good cast iron skillet and the pasta attachment for my stand mixer....
I like jewelry but I am not sure who you are shopping for- scented candles, nice scarves, a decent bottle of wine and some pretty glasses and massage gift cards are always good choices for a woman.
Men- they can be complicated creatures and are much harder to shop for in my opinion.
I made hand made gift bags for all the women in my life. I make custom scented bath salts and scrubs, plus I bake a shit ton. It's all bath stuff and brownies, sometimes a bottle of wine. The most expensive part is usually buying new essential oils and baking stuff, but most of the time I still have tons left over from the year before, just gotta make sure nothing is expired or whatever.
I have five males I buy for, one is my boyfriend and he is the most difficult. His mother buys him everything under the sun every year so I feel like I have to be really original. Out of the other four, two are kids and the other two are stoners and they're all nerds like me - easy peasy.
THE BEST gift I have ever received was $1,000 American dollars. LOL.
But no really, I like video games and makeup so I usually get something revolving around those two things from everyone and I love it.
If I want to buy stuff to put in the gift bags I make or if I feel like buying for random people who aren't my best friends or fam, I go on Amazon. Amazon prime is worth it, especially now, and you can find a TON of neat stuff for anyone.
Cashhhhhhhh
To receive, I like random things I see and say "how cute!" but don't buy for myself because it seems frivolous. Like right now I like these little bejeweled holders for sprays they have at Bath and Body Works & the wall plug ins. Also gift cards for massages, pedicures, etc. Love them but frugal side always goes "do it at home!" Gift cards force me to go :D
I am also doing gift boxes with homemade bath bombs, painted mugs, etc for all the ladies. If you google "45 DIY gifts huffington post" there's a lot of cute ideas to make. I'm doing a couple tea wreaths & the wine stoppers. I looooove DIY gifts and have always done pretty well giving them.
Men are hard :( My dad is getting crossword puzzles. Last year I bought SO some pricey dance shoes that he's used 3 times ::) so this year I said screw it, you're getting random small things like books and video games.
$$ Gift cards.
Fucking GROSS
Thank you!
My favorite was the original Nintendo. I remember staring at the box in the weeks before Christmas at the local K-mart (yes, K-Mart), marveling at the amazing graphics which were so far ahead of my Atari 2600. So I was pretty thrilled to find it under the tree. I couldn't believe that Super Mario Bros. looked just like the arcade! I got the light gun, too. I don't think it ever got better than that.
Flash forward to this Christmas, where a tiny replica loaded with games was sold out everywhere... :wistful:
Aw! Maybe it'll get back in stock & you can get it for yourself?
One of my fav gifts was the new phone I got this year, I may be getting a laptop if I can find one I like & that I can cam with
Got my dremel and my pasta attachment. Still waiting on the skillet but my birthday is coming up. I will just buy it for myself if noone else does; its not even that expensive. Since I am on a roll maybe I should ask the Universe for the Jaguar Crossover. Holla spirit guide!!!
One year someone gave me their old van and a gas card that lasted almost the entire year. We turned the Van into a mobile clubhouse and just smoked out in it. I agree cash is king but sometimes expecting cash from family members gets messy. And then the people who are willing to give cash aren't always the ones you want around during the holidays.
All from my SD this year:
1. Debt paid off
2. $7,000 trip budget - says I should pick someplace i want to go.
3. $2,000 cash
I almost always ask for cash. Last year I asked for all electronics (camera, laptop..etc). I adore gifts that enhance my talents but I prefer cash.
I've had a few awesome ones over the years. My two favorites this year were a super nice goose down comforter and a set of high end makeup brushes. Personally l always like makeup stuff as I go through it at such a high rate. Someone years ago got me an ulta gift card that basically paid for my makeup needs for 6 months which was awesome.
The ones I like are Lodge brand

I want a big (16 inch) one and now I want a dutch oven too since I saw them at the store yesterday
I like weird unusual gifts ..I collect taxidermy, bones, old antique dolls, unicorn shit, horror and 80s fantasy movies, and stuff I used to love when I was a kid. Just little things like that, that show the person giving them knows me and has put thought into it...although I'm never gunna complain about a gift card haha. But it's really not about the money to me, if I need smthg I buy that shit..its about the thought.
My favorite Christmas Gifts are:
Mars Attack purse, Amethyst and diamond spider necklace, black gold ruby promise ring, and cash :)
Sorry I missed the troll post, it went to spam mail goddamnit. Thanks to whomever banned the idiot.
Male posters take note: This is not the place to brag about shit like that.
