This is sad. I hope careless psycopathic people don't go out hunting them knowing they're endangered species now.

Can't bear to read:'(
Some bullshit. Who am I kidding the sadistic sport hunters will probably go after the most endangered animals.
I hate sport hunting. Someone should hunt these disgusting humans who think it's cool to hunt these beautiful magnificent precious animals.
Why giraffes? Seriously? What a loss for the planet. Can you imagine growing up in a world without giraffes?
Poaching. & Yes rich trophy hunters are shooting them too
Aww! I'd like them to meet that fate..
I agree. Killing for food I can understand ; culling the herd of animals like deer because we've killed off their natural predators O.K. but killing just to have a trophy is sick imho. Even worse is when some of these hunters try to paint themselves as "conservationists " who want there to be animals for their kids and grandkids to kill in the future.
I also hate the bear hunt in New Jersey. All they have to do is perform a few vasectomies and fine people who don't secure their garbage.
The world is overpopulated with asshole humans. That's the problem.
It is generally habitat loss that is the greatest danger to endangered species, and that's a harder problem to fix. I usually happens because people need a place to either build things, or grow things. Habitat loss is a problem that has to be confronted on multiple levels to even have a shot at reversing it, especially when it is farmland that displaces habitat. The biggest issue there (in my opinion) is apathy on the part of humans. They see usable land and don't even consider that its already being used. Some people just don't care about wildlife. Yet people still need to eat. Finding decent farmland that doesn't displace habitat is next to impossible.
(That's one of the things i respect most about the nation of Australia, actually. Conservation seems to be pretty important to Australians. We could use more of that.)
People have a lot more of a chance to deal with an acknowledged problem than they do an unacknowledged one, so its good that it's being publicized. Especially with giraffes being as iconic as they are.
OK.. Majorly upset RN, on Tumblr a pic of a very young girl w a gun, her foot up on a DEAD GIRAFFE, some hunt she went on, beyond disgusting/horrific!
OMG, wow, just wow.
I don't want to live in a world without giraffes :(
