Nor sure where to post this.
Hello all-
I have been a lurker on this site for awhile and fairly new to the club scene. I have learned a lot about the business here. Not sure if I should post this here or if not if someone could point me in the right direction that would be great. I have extensive experience in the service.industry and well as a degree in performance arts, the owners of the club I frequent have decided that I would be a perfect fit for their vacant GM position. It is a small dive that offers $10 lap dances. I think I have some great ideas to boost.moral of the dancers as well as bring in a better clientel to the club. Anyone know of any good forums for GMs of clubs? If not I could share some of the ideas here and the people who are better in the know can tell me what works and what is a bad idea and why. One big question is with me being an ex customer, how do I make the dancer feel at ease that I will not be playing favorites with certain dancers I have developed a working relationship with already? Thanks for the feedback.

I've never heard of a forum for strip club GMs (most of them are too short-sighted at best and incompetent at worst for that IMHO), but all managers play favourites, so it's nice if you try not to be too obvious about it (ie. only letting your favourites have scheduling flexibility but being extremely rigid with all the other dancers). There's nothing you can say to make the dancers think you'll be any different, so do your best to apply the club's rules fairly to all dancers and just accept that you will not make them all happy (truly an impossible feat).

I worked at a club for a very long time who hired a reg. customer as a door guy, now he is a full fledged manager. Me; being one of the top girls there didn't like it so much initially but he turned out to be really great. If you face some animosity at first don't take it to heart- strippers are hard to please (as Shanna pointed out). Personally, I would keep the ideas about "improving" things up your sleeve for a little bit unless they specifically ask for it but $10 dances should probably not continue. That is less than min. wage in many areas.
And sorry- no idea about the forum; maybe Reddit??
