Any and All Advice Welcome :)
Hello, I am looking to get into the exotic dancing scene and have researched a lot but honestly am clueless to the world of exotic dancing I believe. I am from Calgary, AB, Canada. I lived a very sheltered childhood in a city where exotic dancing was not allowed so I am really looking or anything anyone can advise as to entering this world. My measurements are 36,28,38, I have recently gone from over 200 pounds to 150 through pole fitness and HIT exercise. I also try to do yoga every other day and make sure to practice my dancing every day. I know it may seem as a very odd dream to most but my passion is being myself and turns out, myself likes to take her clothe off for money! So hit me up with any and all advice you may have!!!

Hi,
Welcome,
There's lots of info already here for you,
Check out the sections Newb, Body Business, Hustle Hut & Stripping
Stripping is much more than, well stripping, it's sales & hustle. Read the above mentioned sections.
Good luck.
Re: Any and All Advice Welcome :)
What advice, specifically are you looking for outside of the other thread?

Check out the recent Alberta threads in club chat. A lot of the advice on here about getting hired won't apply to you in Alberta.
This is the agency that most dancers in your area work for ..

Re: Any and All Advice Welcome :)
I work in Alberta so you can PM me if you'd like.
I straight up wouldn't work Calgary unless you are looking to go-go at one of the clubs there. Since they changed the bylaws to allow topless dances on the floor (but ONLY by the go-gos, the actual dancers can only sell private ones) it's been very hard for even veterans to pull a lot out of there.
As layla said Alberta is agency run, so it is totally different than other areas where you just show up at a club and audition.

Thanks everyone for the links, they were very helpful. I really don't know much about the field at all, so really anything and everything? For example, where should i buy my outfits? I would like to go for a very Dita Von Teese kind of look, so I thought my best bet would just be to go to Victoria's Secret or something but I don't want to get ripped off for something I could get online. I honestly don't really know where to start haha!

VS is fine if you're getting stuff on sale. A lot of the freelancers just wear stuff from La Senza all the time. Just make sure it's stuff that you can take off and put on again all night sexily.
If you're interested in doing stage you are going to need costumes- for small towns things you can pick up in a sex shop or online will be fine, if you're working stage in any of the cities/big clubs you'll need real stage costumes. There's always lots of girls selling used ones so I'd try to pick up a few of those to decide which ladies' work you like before you invest in something custom made.

If you read the thread specifically about dancing in Canada there is a more in-depth description about the stage costumes.

Just wanted to say good luck and congrats on the weight loss! I hope you have auditioned because you are definitely not a BBW just need a little toning. But you look great! I have a similar body to yours and do just fine. And don't forget, dancing shoes make you look longer and leaner. Don't go below 6 inches.
Re: Any and All Advice Welcome :)
I would hold off getting a Calgary license for the time being unless you are looking to Go-go. There's been a lot of rumors going around that Calgary clubs are going to stop having strippers and switch to only go-gos. As they have drastically cut back on the number of shows stage dancers get and jacked up freelance fees this seems likely. All 3 clubs in Calgary are owned by the same person.
It now costs $50 to freelance their clubs plus an additional $40 if you want to sell topless floor dances. (Which you do, this is where most girls make the majority of their $$$)
On top of this initial $90 the club STILL takes 40% of private dances. Also Calgary is STRICT air dances. If you accidentally touch the guy with your hair even you're in shit.
If you are champing at the bit to try dancing I would freelance Red Deer on a weekend, neither of the two clubs there has any fees and there is no license. Both clubs take 40% of dances. They are smaller and not as busy as Calgary but you're not sinking ~$390 for your first shift. Both clubs are one way contact- the guys can't touch you at all but you can still dance on them.
Xstatic is the busier club but probably will tell you to come back after you've toned up some. They will likely expect proper dancer shoes etc.
The Gent's Club is slower but I've never seen a girl turned down there and it would give you an opportunity to see if selling dances is something you want to do. Just wear whatever you've got if you go to that club, a decent lingerie set or club dress will be fine, and if you don't own stripper shoes any sexy heels or boots will work there. Just sit down lots or your feet will be destroyed by the end of the night.
Re: Any and All Advice Welcome :)
Thank you so much :) I haven't auditioned yet as I have been skeptical of being totally rejected and haven't gotten my shoes yet, I have 7 inch Pleasers on the way!! My plan is to lose about two more inches on my waist and hopefully try to keep my butt and my boobs as they seem to have taken the "see ya wouldn't wanna be ya" approach to my weight loss journey lol. `Thank you so much for the support :)
Re: Any and All Advice Welcome :)
Tonalin cla works wonders. I used it and saw results in a month. I toned up and lost inches. It was a godsend.
Re: Any and All Advice Welcome :)
Hey everyone! So I have lost a little more weight and have toned up quite a bit and would show you but I for some reason cannot post it on here, tried a million times, it'seems just not happening. I still haven't made it out onto the dancing scene but am still trying very hard. I have pleasers, a few outfits and have definitely worked on my makeup skills and pOle skills. I would really like to try it out at a club but am unsure of how one tries it out without just doing amateur night. If you would like to check out my insta, I have a pole dedicated account and it's called homebuiltpoler and you could see some of what I'm capable of and what I look like although keep in mind that I also used that account for my weight loss journey amd i learn at home by myself,so please don't be too harsh lol I was thinking of contacting gents club in Red Deer to get a taste of it because I've heard it suggested before. If anyone want to help a girl out, I would love you so much! Also it's mostly a pole fitness account bear in mind
