Do you give / get cust numbers?
I just started dancing and made a burner number off an app I pay like $5 monthly for. Where I work it is against policy to exchange numbers - the house manager doesn't seem to like me much and has reprimanded me once.
Other dancers tell me they have regulars numbers though ? But my manager told me women can get fired for that? What do you do?
Re: Do you give / get cust numbers?
I will exchange numbers with a customer if he's either spent a lot or I've already seen him a few times and I want him to know when I'm working next. But if it's that serious at your club that you could get fired for it idk if I would. Or I would just be secretive about it.
I have a friend who says she would NEVER give out her number but I mean if the customer starts getting annoying or asking to see me OTC I can easily just block him (you should see my block list lol). I have a lot of numbers in my phone with names like 'John Glasses spent xxx' & club name lol it helps me remember them.
Re: Do you give / get cust numbers?
If you are getting in that much trouble, maybe it's better not to. But yeah, if I have a faithful good spending respectful ref I'll give him my burner phone number or dancer email. But they need to earn it, don't give it out to just anybody or you'll be constantly annoyed
Re: Do you give / get cust numbers?
Try Google Voice or Freedompop if you don't want to pay for the Burner app. They are both totally free.

Do you use freedompop? What's your experience with them? Which method of plan did you use? I'm considering it too.

Re: Do you give / get cust numbers?
Here in Detroit, giving your number out is implied solicitation of prostitution. I used to give out my Google Voice number for texting only. I'd tell the customers it is NOT a date line, but so they can ask if/when I am working only. It got out of hand very quickly, so I just give the same number to them and never respond anymore. I uninstalled Google Voice. At least that way, when they call before giving me the $ they owe me, it rings to a real number. I also always lie and tell customers my phone is in my locker so I can't take their number either.
Re: Do you give / get cust numbers?
I don't really because most clubs in my region are crazy strict about not doing it.
It's apparently normal in Vegas which is good because you can get some nice dinners & shopping with the right kind of guy.
Sadly guys are so low class these days.......I think most think it means instant hook up. So not everyone even deserves to ask for your #
Re: Do you give / get cust numbers?
You give him your number , because he won't in most cases actually call you back. Don't take his number. It's just a fantasy. Men want to pretend that you're a girl he met at a regular club who is so into him. He might be drink at the time. He'll forget all about you and the promise of lunch he made to you by the morning. If you were really into him or really wanted that free meal, you'll feel really let down. But it's a great hustle.
Part of any business is keeping contact with your customers. And, I doubt you'll have a regular if you can't coordinate times to see you at the club. It's worth the risk and worth having a spare phone that you use only for your alias.
Re: Do you give / get cust numbers?
Sometimes I do. Or better, I take their card or numbers, so I can decide later what I want to do.
Re: Do you give / get cust numbers?
I was hesitant to give my number out when I first started dancing. But, it really isn't any big deal and if someone becomes a problem you simply block them. With the slowness of the industry currently I will remind customers or let them know when I am working. I will generally give my number out to anyone that get more then a 3 song VIP. If they get a single dance and ask for my number I have to try really hard to not laugh at them! Lol
Re: Do you give / get cust numbers?
When I first started I use to exchange numbers more. Now, it's not even worth it bc I don't call they don't call sometimes they will text me when I'm coming to work and I'll text back I'm not at work that day but I don't even save numbers anymore.
Some girls keep up with the customer and send text during the week, I tried but I really could care less/don't have time to pretend to be interested and keep up communication. I have regulars who show up looking for me and that works better. We have a good time while we are there (eating, drinking, and him getting dances) and leave it at the club.
A lot of them wanted to hang out with me. After I ignore enough calls, then they get the message, lol I just wanted your money.
Re: Do you give / get cust numbers?
If it's against the rules and will lead to you getting fired, it's better not to exchange numbers with customers. If you've already been reprimanded once, chances are they're keeping an eye on you.
I will exchange numbers with a customer if he's spent a lot of money and I can see him becoming a good regular. I also like to have something of a "rolodex" and go down the list inviting customers to see me when it's slow. Granted where I work it's not against the policy to hand out your number. You don't need to pay monthly for a burner app, either. I use an app called "Sideline". It's totally free and it gives you a local number. You can also send pictures, and when people leave you voicemails it doesn't have that weird robotic tone Google Voice does.
Re: Do you give / get cust numbers?
Thanks for the info everyone. I've been using Google Voice for years but lately its been having some major bugs. Plus there's no way for it to send notifications to your phone so I just have to check it once in a while and end up missing important texts. I'm gonna try Sideline and just tell everyone that I finally got a local number and send them my new number.
Re: Do you give / get cust numbers?
You can even buy a cheap smartphone with a pre payed SIM card. When you feel is time to change number you change SIM keeping only the good customers. And no one from the past, who you feel not will be able to contact you.
Re: Do you give / get cust numbers?
Buttonpop,
Sideline is really great because you send text and get clear calls. Plus, Google voice can mess up sometimes ;) Plus, you can block any number on there as well.

Re: Do you give / get cust numbers?
I just signed up for Sideline, however it's just a free 7-day trial. :/ So while it is free for 7 days, you just have to remember to cancel it before being charged that $9.99.

I use Sideline and it's totally free, or at least it was when I downloaded it back in December. You can upgrade to the ad-free version, but I haven't.

Yeah, all of the posts I've seen on here have said it's free, but when I used the app it was asking for a debit/credit card for a free trial. So I didn't bother. I try to avoid those free trial situations where you have to put in your debit card, and then remember to cancel. Lol.
I ended up just using that app FreedomPop (after X number of texts, you have to upgrade and pay) and then TextNow.
