No School = More Customers?
Does anyone notice a correlation between bank holidays/days where the kids don't go to school (eg. Today, MLK day in the US) and more customers? I know working in food, the days where the kids are out of school that more people in general come in. So with a lot of customers having the day off work, I feel as if more would come in at night. Do you notice this?
I do have actual monetary records I could go through to confirm this theory, but I'm just curious how it is for you guys.

You're making me jealous cause I'm not dancing! I'm never letting myself get this fat.... I'll make up for it.
Back to your theory. It could be because people a lot of people have days off, and any reason given to celebrate it usually reason enough. I think it's location dependent. Maybe the kids are stressing out the younger guys *20 to 44 bracket*. Tax season? It's late January.
How much of difference are you speaking of? OHH... Detroit would be a money making city right now too.....
Re: No School = More Customers?
Yeah I've noticed clubs get busier with holidays and 3 day weekends and such. I worked a Monday dayshift after New Years this year and it was really busy. Most of the customers I talked to mentioned how they had the day off.
I bet today was a profitable day but I didn't work.
Re: No School = More Customers?
I think it's regional. In the Snow Belt weather can have a big effect either way $$$ wise
Re: No School = More Customers?
So today was slow, I had regulars who were (surprisingly) generous, but every holiday I've worked lately has been SUPER slow. Back home in TX, the bank holidays were slow, but the religious holidays were bumpin (thanksgiving, Christmas, etc). Up here, my club is closed for religious holidays but always open for the minor ones. Jewish holidays are slow but that's NY for you.
Re: No School = More Customers?
We had a TON of people on Saturday this weekend (MLK 3-day weekend) but they were the young-guys-who-throw-singles-on-twerking-girls crowd... so no actual money.
Sunday afternoon was dead, partly from football, but partly the older gentlemen were gone with family. It was picking up when I left, but again, young guys without money.
Every Monday holiday I have worked day shift, I have done decently because all the day girls are at home with their kids... but the customer numbers are the same.
