Doesn't surprise me. I've been going to Vegas a lot since 2013 & I see more sketchy people & homeless people busking on the Strip. My ex & I had two guys roll up on us demanding a dollar. It was sad.
TBH I think that Vegas is a way more dangerous place than people think. Shootings and such happen all the time, but it gets downplayed because they don't want to scare the tourists away.
I think most all big cities are dangerous, but yea you put all the $$$ from gambling & it makes it worse
+ I heard Vegas was one of the hardest hit places in the housing bust
Don't let those bright lights and glamorous buffets distract you. That place is dangerous. Bring all your *ahem* party essentials with you, but if you run out always remember ask every person you encounter where they are from and 100 people later and it's actually someone from vegas, that dude will hook u up :p
I live in one of the top crime riddled areas and even vegas scares me especially after I saw how pedestrians can't even walk down the street without possible injury. I've read about a couple incidents of vehicular homicide with reckless drivers ploughing over large groups of pedestrians on the strip.
Also seen documentaries of women in the clubs there full of illicit hardcore drugs.
Also seen documentaries of heavy pimp scene there as well.
Tourists are in ignorant bliss lol! Same here our city leaders refused to showcase crime busts on tv for fear of the publicity scaring off tourists meanwhile have done little to actually curb said crime.
That scares me a little I was planning to go work in vegas alone sometime soon
My advice is, avoid obvious trouble in Las Vegas. If you stick to squeaky clean things on the Strip you can have an uneventful short visit.
& Yes LVPD covers up crime stats. Don't ask me how I know. They've been hiding things from the public ever since the city was founded. They've had lots of practice.
Looks like the shooting took place outside the club not inside. Thankfully no one was injured.
But yeah strip clubs can be dangerous places considered many of them don't even check patrons for weapons before entering. The club her does pat downs and makes men remove their hats so the faces can be seen on camera. I would not feel safe at a club that doesn't screen for weapons and did not have quality surveillance.
One of my worst fears is some psycho stabbing me in the back because I turned down his otc offer.
not surprised.. that industrial area where the strip clubs are is sketch AF
"Even the Sheriff isn't afraid to bury people in the desert". - Casino, the movie.
Whoever said every big city is dangerous is right. You have to know where to go and where NOT to go.....I can walk downtown Chicago at 2 in the morning and not worry(but I wouldn't do that in Downtown New Orleans or St Louis) and I wouldn't be caught dead 5 miles west of downtown Chicago on a sunday afternoon.
One shooting at one stripclub doesn't make an area dangerous or necessarily a place you need to avoid. Just be alert and aware of a situation, if you see a fight brewing outside of any club..anywhere..late at night, time to GTFO of there.....
You will be fine.
I came here from the East Coast all alone, kinda broke, no way back to the east coast, jumping from hotel to hotel, missed my flight on purpose- .....Vegas is just as dangerous as every other city...just don't do stupid things like going home with strangers, taking unknown drugs from strangers, leaving your drink alone etc- you know...the basic safety knowledge that applies to every location....it really isn't that serious.
