Is it my hustle or is it my hair?
I honestly feel like I could be making a lot more money at work. I'm currently wearing a wig to give my hair a break but I have this ache that tells me if I got my hustle together I could bank with my short hair. Ive made more money with my wigs on but I feel it makes up for where I lack in hustle. My pixie cut is very close cropped and let's be honest, short hair on a black woman and short hair on a white woman are two different things. Opinions? Do you think based on your experience I could rock it and rock it well with hustle improvements?

Sorry, but I think only lesbian ethnic women would appreciate your hairstyle when its short. This is not saying either is more beautiful, just what I think.
Thanks for your input . I work at a primarily Caucasian upscale night club. The black men of course are ecstatic and the white men oogle me curiously. Heads definitely turn as I was the ONLY girl with short hair in the club and one of five black dancers working. It was my first time out with my natural hair and I felt kind of naked. There was this weird smug confidence about all the attention I was receiving but I was also nervous which may have manifested itself in my sales.
Re: Is it my hustle or is it my hair?
If you are one of 5 black girls working, set yourself apart, maybe a bob wig or w different colored long wig?
Re: Is it my hustle or is it my hair?
Honestly, I think you'll make the most money with the wigs. Longer hair appeals to a larger demographic of customers. You're exceptionally beautiful and look great both ways IMO but most men tend to prefer longer hair overr a crop look. I'm not saying short hair and a fierce hustle won't make good money, I just think a wig and a fierce hustle will make you bank.
Re: Is it my hustle or is it my hair?
I have noticed long kinky coily pieces earn me a better response. Perhaps its time to shell out that money for a high quality human piece. I love my short hair. I feel the most confident and the most beautiful in it. This is mostly because I know not a lot of women pull it off but I do and exceptionally well at that. But this is about making a statement. I don't need them to love me for me, I need them to pay me. In copious amounts of cash.
Re: Is it my hustle or is it my hair?
Holy hell woman you are stunning and look incredible with short hair. If I looked that good with short hair I would rock it too. Okay I'm just gonna tell you my three different experiences.
Urban clubs, WOC tend to do best with long hair. Doesn't matter if it's straight or wavy/curly or natural texture as long as it's down to your ass. Braids also work well if long. And the only time I've seen short work is if the hair is platinum. Doesnt mean there aren't some baddies with short hair, but something about having hair down to your ass while twerking does something.
"Upscale" club. WOC stick with long and straight or wavy. Anytime a girl has worn a more natural textured look, usually I see her go back to her previous look within a few days.
However I will say, one day this girl got a cut similar to yours and holy hell she banked. All of her "friends" were freaking out for her but she was genuinely happy and it showed. She could pull it off. So if you feel more confident roll with it.
I wouldn't recommend natural texture looking hair for an upscale club though even if it is long. I def think you might be one of the few girls I've seen who could bank with short hair and that's super rare. But if you've noticed more money with the wigs then by all means stick with it until you've got your hustle down better.

I've got a week off because of a medical condition but I'm going to dig around hustle hut, recharge my batteries, and give it another go. I also prefer the short hair because I'm a big time poler and I hate the hair induced anxiety I get when I'm whipping around or upside down. In the meanwhile I'll buy a good quality wig for back up. I need a really good one anyway. I'm 4'11 and barely 100 lbs, sometimes I feel like a black version of Tinkerbell with it.

That's great. Your size is definitely a pro when it comes to rocking short hair.
I had a pixie and danced at urban clubs. I'm tall and "thick" with platinum hair. Once I moved back to mixed clubs I threw the extensions in because short hair with my size wasn't gonna work for me in that type of atmosphere. best of luck!
Re: Is it my hustle or is it my hair?
My butt definitely looks bigger with short hair but I feel like more men respond to long hair as a general rule. I feel like if I got my hustle down it could work just cause I stick out the a sore thumb. Also I enjoy preying on the repressed sexualities of white men and their complicated attraction to black women. Race comes up a lot more than I'd like to admit in my club. I get a lot of, "I'm not usually into black women." "You're the first black girl I've actually been attracted to." "You look like an Egyptian queen." It's to the point where I use it to my advantage instead of being pissy and uptight about it. For them there's something strangely therapeutic about being with a unapologetically black woman that they honestly wouldn't be caught dead with on the streets.
Re: Is it my hustle or is it my hair?
You are so gorgeous omg
I can't speak for black women, but when I wear my hair natural (it's very curly) I tend to get less attention but I also attract more quality customers who love my hair and spend lots of $$$. When I go for the typical glam stripper look with straightened hair or curled (big loose curls w an iron) and extensions, I don't have to hustle practically at all. It depends on my mood what I go with, but my hustle is pretty good (not perfect, but pretty good) and I'm hot so I think I can get away with either. I do feel like guys in the club are just into longer hair in general, it's like an aphrodisiac for them.
I personally think you're so gorgeous you could pull off any look, but just as a general rule it'll be easier to hustle w long hair, for any stripper. I think hustle is more important than looks though ultimately, and that when you've got your hustle down it won't matter, but try diffferent looks to see what makes you feel the best and make the most money :)
Re: Is it my hustle or is it my hair?
It'll be a quality over quanitity thing with the short hair thing I think. But some nights quantity will trump quality. Very true.

I'm not a natural ginger, but I once had my eyebrows bleach and my roots bleach to ginger.... it was an accident and it was supposed to be strawberry blonde.
I'm sure you looked fantastic. The bombshell look goes over very well where I work, but unassuming blondes, gingers, or mousy brown brunettes have success if they ramp up the sex appeal through both talk and dance. Its something I have to work on. I try to tell myself, "Dumb it down and sex it up." I get more date offers than dollar bills.
Re: Is it my hustle or is it my hair?
i love your short hair - LOVE. But i do agree in a strip club long is the way to go and probably straight or with a little twist to it.
Re: Is it my hustle or is it my hair?
Normally I say long hair almost always wins and I grew mine out and make more money than I did with my bob BUT you look gorgeous with short hair so try it out and see, especially since you don't mind dealing with being considered "exotic" and dealing with the conversations about race that a lot of girls find annoying. The successful short haired dancers I've known have all been super petite with gorgeous faces like you. One of my friends was a tiny dark skinned Puerto Rican with short hair and she made crazy money. There are definitely exceptions to the more hair equals more money rule and you could definitely be one if you want to be.
Re: Is it my hustle or is it my hair?
Go with the wig. Especially in VIP oriented clubs, men need that "Fantasy" for the duration of VIP- the soft hair brushing them, the soft boobs in face, soft butt on lap.
The only girls I've known (of any color) that pulled off pixie haircuts had movie star looks. Just being honest. Strip clubs are a mostly visual experience. Deliver the visual.
Re: Is it my hustle or is it my hair?
If you feel the best with short hair then do you!! Your confidence will shine. My experience as the only black girl in the club is to embrace my natural self ...The more "exotic" the better. I also rock short natural. Doesn't get in the way, wash and go, and def sets me apart from girls black or white.
Re: Is it my hustle or is it my hair?
I was thinking the same thing, I'll up my hustle and try again. Some guys really like the look and others sometimes just buy time or dances to say they made it "with a black girl." I'll have a wig on standby though. I think my face is pretty enough to pull it off which is half the battle with short hair.
Re: Is it my hustle or is it my hair?
I like the long black wig and since you're at an upscale club, I think that type of clientele will prefer that as well.
Re: Is it my hustle or is it my hair?
Nice pics! I like the versatility of your looks.
I'd say experiment if you can. If you feel more confident with short hair that prob what will make you most money.
Re: Is it my hustle or is it my hair?
Like everyone else here, I'd say you look gorgeous no matter the length of your hair. But also like everyone else, I do see that everyone in clubs I work at get more money with longer hair (there are exceptions, but no one can really bank on being an exception). I know you mentioned that you don't like working the pole with wigs, because of the hair anxiety. Could it work to go on stage with the short hair and work the floor with the wigs? I can see how it might confuse guys if they didn't recognize you on the floor as the girl on stage they liked, and that also guys aren't really that aware of how many women wear wigs/weaves/extensions, so they might be a bit put off. But I know that can also depend on the club and clientele, and I've known girls who've worn their hair very differently on- and off-stage.
All in all, I agree that probably long hair will be generally more profitable. Personally, I think the second wig picture you posted looks the most "high-earning dancer" type of picture. But remember you're beautiful and can hustle dances no matter what you do with your hair.
Re: Is it my hustle or is it my hair?
let us know how it goes! i feel like the white guys who dont like black girls wont like me no matter how i wear my hair. i get that the long straight hair can make a black girl more palatable to those guys who are on the fence, and i get that everyone needs money, but im so sick of looking in the mirror and thinking how i cant be natural. sick of letting these asshole men set the standards. i live in northern europe so i think i can get away with being "exotic" a little easier.
