Re: makeup and breaking out
I don't wear foundation. I use a tinted sunscreen but you can also use tinted moisturizer. Sometimes I'll throw on some translucent powder. But foundation wreaks havoc on my skin. Not worth it, nope
Re: makeup and breaking out
You can try a tinted primer and see if that works out for you. Or mix a small amount of foundation with a primer. I would recommend going to sephora and getting three different foundation samples. They are free and they last 1-4 uses normally. Tell them what problems you're having and try out those samples, use one foundation one week, the second the next, so on. If none work, don't be afraid to go back and ask for more options.
I always put primer under my foundation, but I do full coverage. If I did lighter coverage I'd probably mix them.
For washing make up off, I finally got over my fear of oil. I have combination skin that's a total asshole to deal with, prone to break outs and dry flaking skin at the same damn time. I take coconut oil and use it to loosen the make up off my face. Then I use a foaming facial cleanser. Three times a week I will exfoliate with sugar and coconut oil mixed together. In the places I'm not dry I use an astringent. And I apply coconut oil to my face and let it "sink in" about three times before I go to bed (takes 20 mins or so each time).
If you ever go on reddit, check out the skincare addicts subreddit. I learned a lot of things about skin care there and I finally know how to take care of my skin. I cam and wear full coverage foundation daily. My face used to be really gross actually. Now it's finally starting to look good, I have spots on my nose where I can't even see any pores (about two months ago my face was the grand canyon of pores) and every day things are looking better.
Re: makeup and breaking out
I've always had really bad acne and though it's getting better I have a breakout at the moment which isn't great for the strip club. If the foundation says non commodogenic on it then it's not going to block the pores (that's what my dermatologist told me) I hate having acne as a stripper but luckily you can't really tell with the club lighting and my hair covers it .if you don't need foundation maybe do not wear it to the club? Also apparently primers can cause breakouts

Be careful with coconut oil though, it is known to be extremely commodogenic. Its the only thing that will break my whole face out in 20-30 cystic pimples overnight. Learned it the hard way :( If you want to experiment with oils I would suggest starting with a different kind of oil first.
I use Mario Badescu Drying Lotion for my acne and it has worked WONDERS. I also take a L-Lysine vitamin every day. I've tried a million different products and these two are my silver bullets. The Drying lotion can turn a pimple into a whitehead that I can pop and get rid of overnight, and it significantly decreases the amount of pimples I get overall. L-Lysine works to prevent cystic pimples.
I'd also skip primer if you're prone to breakouts. Silicone and Dimethicone cause tiiiiny under the skin pimples that are unpopable. I'd also avoid any foundation with dimethicone in it.
Re: makeup and breaking out
I never wear any makeup on my face.
Re: makeup and breaking out
go and get some samples and change brands of foundation, also make sure you are removing it properly double cleanse and get it all off, also do masks once a week.
Re: makeup and breaking out
With acne-prone skin it's all about trial and error and it takes some patience. I've had sensitive acne-prone skin my whole life and when it comes to foundation I've tried alot of different products. Right now the liquid foundations that don't break me out are by Exuviance and Clinique. Clinique has an acne fighting foundation with salicylic acid but it can be drying so my new favorite is by Exuviance, which I guess was originally a skincare line that now has makeup.
For powders I think the more natural the better so I like Aveda and Japonesque. I also don't wear primers because I havent found one that doesn't make me break out and my makeup looks good without it anyway.
I work alot - like sometimes 5 days a week - and my makeup doesn't make me break out at all anymore. The only time I breakout is around my period. So no not all makeup will make you break out. Try some different kinds to see what works best for your skin.
Also, a good skincare regimen outside of work will help too. Always wash your makeup off before bed obviously. Sometimes after I take my makeup off I leave Noxzema on my face for a while to really deep clean my skin or I'll do a clay mask with sulfur.
