online payment to bank account? sounds like scam to me? why no cmd/indiebill
Some guy wants to do online payment to bank account- yes he was a paying custie on 1 of the sites.. I thought that doesn't sound at all right and like a downright scam. I told him to try indiebill, and he says it's not available in his region. Then he says he can't figure out CMD
I don't know these sites from custie point of view but are they really that restrictive or difficult for a customer to use and pay us? Are any English speaking countries blocked on either indiebill or cmd? Or are people just fucking with me about how "complicated" it is and trying to waste my time? thanks all
Re: online payment to bank account? sounds like scam to me? why no cmd/indiebill
As far as I know every adult with a credit card can process payment at CMD or IB. He wants to pay with a method that suits him. Dont give in. If he really wants a show that bad he can figure CMD or IB out. He has a credit card. He is a big boy. He can figure it out on its own.
Re: online payment to bank account? sounds like scam to me? why no cmd/indiebill
Yes, it's a scam. If he could pay through the site(s) before then what changed? He's either been blocked from CMD (ask support if you're curious, he could have been blocked for stolen cards or being a PITA, or his bank could be blocking the transaction, which CMD could confirm and is something he'd need to talk to his bank about) or it's just easier for him to scam you when using the alternate payment. Or he wants your personal information. Just don't do it, if he were a legitimate customer he wouldn't have to use non-legitimate payment systems.

If they directly have your account and routing number, they can draft your account just as easily as pay you.
A lot of services (especially CMD) have very good "black lists" of clients that do habitual refunds or chargebacks, and they share information. Being "unable" to use IB or CMD is often a good sign they've been assholes in the past.

If he found you on a cam site , he can pay you on a camsite or reputable payment processor.
Re: online payment to bank account? sounds like scam to me? why no cmd/indiebill
yeh no way would I want to give out routing and account info unless it was to a company who actually paid my bi-monthly check etc.
I thought you meant Chase quickpay or similar.

What does it mean to draft an account?
Re: online payment to bank account? sounds like scam to me? why no cmd/indiebill
It means take money out instead of put money in.
Re: online payment to bank account? sounds like scam to me? why no cmd/indiebill
They take money out the same as giving it to you. There's a few places online that you can load various accounts by "virtual check" where they can just put your name, routing, and account number in and it will take the money from your account and put it anywhere. These are very difficult to reverse or block - you basically have to catch it within 2 days of it happening.

I've never heard of virtual cheques! However It seems they do exist and i found this from a New Zealand bank: "A netCODE is automatically sent to a customer when they make large transactions using NetDirect (BankDirect's Internet Banking Service), including without limitation, Virtual Cheque, You will be able to use one netCODE for each NetDirect session subject to not exceeding your daily transaction limit. To receive a netCODE you must have an SMS capable phone and register your mobile phone number with us.
So it seems they do require some sort of verification to do this, otherwise anyone could do this and it would cost the banks millions?

Its more a correction after the fact, when the damage is already done. Its the exact same thing if someone else writes a bad check in your name. To most banks it would look like any other kind of direct pay or bill pay transaction. Your bank won't want to eat the charge without question, because often that money isn't recoverable, so they will pin it on you as much as they can for as long as they can. You may be covered by some kind of ID theft insurance some bank accounts carry, but if you willingly gave your bank details over to someone and that comes out, pffft.
Yes, this kind of fraud does cost banks (and bank customers) billions per year. It is pretty common.
Bottom line, there is no really clean or risk-free way to bypass the "high-risk" handling surcharge put on the adult industry. The tax authorities and credit card cartels will get their pound of flesh, and trying to dodge around it is just waiting for the ax to fall. Risking any number of shitty scenarios is not worth the extra 10% for that one customer that promised you the world.

Yeah I assumed they could just steal all my money like that. Thanks for confirming. I just find it bizarre he would first do a 20 min show, but I guess the scam must pay off for him in the long run?
I realize that adult friendly payment processors is the way to go I was just checking if he was trying to take all my $ like I thought he was.

I've had a read of this thread - http://money.stackexchange.com/quest...account-number
Seems that yes its easy to do if your American as all they need is the account number? however the general consensus is Europe has additional safety precautions. I'd personally never give my details to a customer but there have been times i've lived with housemates and they've wired money to my account for bills or i've paid via cheque and the account number is written on the front on the cheque. Most banks in Europe are really good at covering costs where fraud has occurred, I had it happen to me ages ago via an ATM reader and they reimbursed me the money straight away.
