Charging clients HST/GST in Canada as an escort declaring over 30K?
So I asked this question for cam girls, and it was deemed that camming is a zero rate service because it is an exported service.
But what about escorting? I want to write off backpage ads, uber rides, hotel fees, transportation fees and food/drink fees on my trips.
If if I declared as a consultant, would that make me a zero rate service? But also....would I be able to deduct everything I listed above?
And how do I manage my book keeping? I haven't recorded any sessions, obviously I don't give out receipts or know my clients real information. I was planning on totalling the money I made last year and dividing it per hour and days worked, then writing a bunch of fake names down and the dates I saw the clients and the money made in a booklet.
I want to declare money and pay taxes on both camming AND escorting this year, and both of them require different deductions, and don't necessarily have crossover deductions...do I need to register as a sole proprietor, or register as two different businesses?
im declaring under 15k for last year though...and my deductions are high...I feel like it'll end up negating each other. I am declaring hopefully 60k this year. This is my first year I'm doing taxes, I just turned 22, does this look fishy? I have a record of being on welfare and stuff til I was 20. I'm doing my taxes this month for the year I was 21.
Thanks so so much you super smart tax angels!!!

Hey, I think camming is considered a zero rate service if I recall correctly there's a code for online video production that includes porn/adult content. You more deff do not have to collect GST/HST.
I know AmberCutieForum has a massive thread in the verified section on Canadian taxes if you're on there.
Personally I only declared it as other income last year as I had a vanilla gig as well and got them to overtax me when I filled out my t4.

Thanks, I already know all that. :) I'm asking about this for escorts / full service sex work.

Basically to charge HST as an escort you would have to give out receipts clients don't want receipts breaks the whole discreet thing.
So you would take the hit, your fee includes HST and if you earn over 30k in the year after all your expenses then you would have to figure out paying back taxes.
IT's goes wiht camming too or pretty much any service where you are mostly collecting cash or other income sources like affiliate marketing sales.
You figure your gross then your expenses, then after expenses and income you figure out what is left over to pay taxes or keep for next year at tax filing time.
