2 weeks of topical AND oral clindamycin cleared my body acne up, and using witch hazel as a toner on my problem areas has kept it clear. Don't put it on your face, though.
Only your doctors can determine that.
Mine was hormonal, as was my boyfriend's.
Try Head and Shoulders, everywhere. It is not just antibacterial, but also antifungal. It was the ONLY thing that worked for me consistently. I have long hair so it would be better to not wash my hair everyday...for my hair, but if I don't my bacne starts to flare up. So head and shoulders everywhere, wash hair everyday, and make sure you rinse any conditioner from your skin. Showers, not baths.
I'm 31 and my skin is a mess. It makes me want to stay home and kills my confidence. The last three years its just gotten worse and worse. I've mostly cut out dairy since I'm severely lactose intolerant. I drink a ton of water. I avoid a ton of sugars and bread and fried foods. I've tried switching make up brands, different cleansors, being aggressive with cleansors and then going lightly by just using micellar water and honey. Face masks, etc. Literally nothing works. My skin is getting destroyed and I'm so oily I have to wear actual stage make up and blot my face every 30-45 mins. I started getting acne in the 2nd grade! my whole life i've struggled but my face is worse at 31 than it ever was my entire life. I can't wait to see a dermatologist later this month :( Anyone know what that "nature's accutane" is that an earlier poster was talking about??
I have struggled with bad acne since I was a teen and I'm in my 30s now. I used to wash my face with Cetaphil cleanser and then use witch hazel toner. I'd use benzoyl peroxide on the spots. It worked to clear them up but can be very drying and give you dry, flaky skin on your face if you use too much. I used food-grade coconut oil as face moisturizer. I haven't heard of nature's Accutane but I do know that Accutane has a lot of vitamin A. If you're drinking a lot of water and eating a healthy diet your issue could just be hormonal. The dermatologist should be able to sort it out. I used to get microdermabrasion treatments on my face at a dermatologist's office. Now that I'm pregnant there's a lot of products that I can no longer use and my acne is awful again so I feel your pain on that.
Just my guess, it sounds like you might have deeply rooted hormone imbalance issues (like PCOS, etc.) Acne as a kid can mean that, or just having sensitive skin in general.
Also skin will "sweat out" impurities in the body so often breakouts are from an underlying cause.
I had BAD acne for many years, only reduced by high hormone birth control, and then age made it to where I only break out from eating bad food or not cleaning my face correctly.
My advice is - do everything you can to curb the outbreaks and see what works. (Water fasts can also help you determine if you get food allergy based breakouts.)
Scalp dirt can also cause skin breakouts. For people with thick hair, it's easy to slack on scrubbing the scalp, and then you get serious issues.
