Re: TECH ISSUE - "no video data recieved", no webcams work outside of Logitech Softwa
After working on it for what felt like forever, I think I found at least part of the problem. Something about the Adobe Flash Player is fucking up the cams. It's fine if the only browser you use is Chrome, because they have their own built in version of Flash that is compatible, but other browsers, for example Firefox, will insist that you download flash in order to run SM and other websites. Upon downloading Flash, the cam immediately stopped working.
So I did another reset back to the previous version of windows, and this time I was more careful about what I downloaded, and my cam is still functional at this point.
Here are programs that I was able to use without messing up the cam: VerySoft, Chrome, the FMLE (I don't know why it doesn't cause problems, but it didn't), SM in a chrome browser, Cams.com launched from Chrome, F4F Performer App Version 4 (I don't know if the new version 5 will be ok - I don't like how bulky it is, so I didn't try it)
Things that I haven't tested: JustCamIt, F4F Performer App Version 5, MFC/CB (which would probably be fine in Chrome, but I didn't try it), most browsers that aren't Chrome
Things that definitely cause problems: any browser that asks you to download the Flash Player - Chrome may ask if you want to turn on Flash, which won't hurt anything, but it's somehow different than actually downloading Flash (again, Chrome uses it's own, integrated version).
This is the solution that's holding up for me for now. I don't know if it will still work if Windows forces the Creators update on me again. However, Flash caused cam problems on my older computer that hasn't even gotten the Creators update yet, so I think maybe that's the problem across the board. I haven't been able to figure out how to remove Flash once it's been downloaded and started causing problems. Maybe someone else knows how to do it? The only way I've found is to reset the whole computer, which is a monumental amount of work if you use a lot of programs. :/

Re: TECH ISSUE - "no video data recieved", no webcams work outside of Logitech Softwa
Ah yes, i have windows defender and it wont let manycam work at all. im so dumb coz web cam splitter lets me use the same license on 4 cams and i bought manycam not knowing that. So, manycam wont work at all, says my antivirus is blocking the drivers and that i should reinstall manycam after i close my antivirus, but it didnt work, i was already getting pissed as fuck and so i decided to download verysoft again and try my already in use license on another computer, it worked! So i know that many problems are coming from this shitty software from hell and decided to dispute for a refund!

Re: TECH ISSUE - "no video data recieved", no webcams work outside of Logitech Softwa
I wiped out my computer and installed JCI and SMbroadcaster and they loaded fine but although SM letme calibrate and said my stream is good, it now won't recognize my cam when I try to log on. JCI seems to be working though. I use chrome.

PLEASE HELP - My webcam (Logitech c920) isn't being recognized by any encoder anymore
Ladies, I'm kinda desperate.
My webcam, that is working perfectly, is not being recognized by any software (SM encoder/JustCamIt). It was working just fine 2 days ago.
Do you guys know what could it be?
I need to work :(

Hope it can help some of you ladies.
Same here. I turned off windows defender and the SMBroadcaster detected my webcam. Before it was just showing a white screen. My webcam worked just fine in OBS with and without Verysoft enabled. I do most of my shows on skype so this must be why I'm now only seeing that there's an issue. I hope this holds up because I really don't want to have to reset my computer.

Re: TECH ISSUE - "no video data recieved", no webcams work outside of Logitech Softwa
So I have reformatted my pc twice this weekend. I am running Windows 10 Home, using Logitech c920, I have went through the whole slew of troubleshooting. Unplugging my cam, plugging it back in, uninstalling and reinstalling SMB. Checking my device manager and uninstalling devices>
I sent Streamate support an email, although I know it may take some time to respond if I hear anything at all. I've contacted Logitech Support- that was not helpful.
If anyone knows any way around this, it is greatly appreciated thank.
And I just needed to vent.

Yep seems that those antivirus are one of the concern due to some new update... I had a hard time before coming to this conclusion but hey now I have no problem anymore, hope it stays like this...

I didn't have Windows Defender on but I did have the free version of AVG installed. I uninstalled the extras that came with it and SMBroadcast seems to be working again ....Hopefully it will continue to work

Re: TECH ISSUE - "no video data recieved", no webcams work outside of Logitech Softwa
I uninstalled my antivirus software (I was using Avast) and my webcam is working in SMB now. Strange, since I've been using that antivirus for months. Unfortunately Streamate hasn't caught on to the fact that I'm using the broadcaster again and for some reason thinks I'm streaming without audio so my placement is completely bust, I get like 10 visitors per hours. Oh well

Re: TECH ISSUE - "no video data recieved", no webcams work outside of Logitech Softwa
If you haven't gone through the Creators Update as of yet the only thing that I've found prevents it is to either
1. set your internet to a metered connection. This only works if you're using wifi. Once you hardwire/plug in via ethernet you will not be spared.
2. Don't shut down your computer and go into settings and set a restart date. Unfortunately the furthest I could go out was 5/8. Deferred Updates is no longer available for Windows 10 Anniversary. So if you have an older os that still has deferred updates available you may be able to push it back for 6 months.
That's all I got for now. I'm really annoyed because looking back over the past two weeks I think windows did a minor update that removed the ability to defer the Creators update for a lot of people. I don't want the shit to be honest. The reason I'm telling you all this is NOT because the Creators update is necessarily a bad thing, BUT it could be very inconvenient for a lot of people. If you don't delay things, it's very possible that it may happen in the middle of a shift online, while rendering videos. Or just before a camathon where you need to come up with some dough. Also there's always glitches that occur during new roll outs. Just take a look at your settings and try to prepare for it. :)

Re: Windows 10 Creators Update- Webcam, Encoder Issues
GAH!!!!!!! I'm not sure if I'm happy or sad to see that I'm not the only one...... I really don't want to have to reformat!!!! GRRRRR
-
Re: Windows 10 Creators Update- Webcam, Encoder Issues
After all my reformatting, I've had good luck so far by removing Avast (Windows Defender is still running) and avoiding the Flash Player outside of Chrome. Those are the two things that had an immediate impact on my cam working. The cam immediately started failing after I downloaded the Flash Player from Firefox. After another reformat to get rid of Flash (it's like an invasive species that you just can't kill!), the cam failed again upon getting Avast, but in that case I was able to fix it by uninstalling Avast. So far, everything is running ok...

Re: Windows 10 Creators Update- Webcam, Encoder Issues
Same here, the moment i deleted avast, all my cams started to work again. Im almost sure this is the issue with all girls who have avast. Im running only windows defender and not downloading any other antivirus.

Webcam problem
Hi! Wondering if anyone has any ideas... I can't find a thread of uproar anywhere so I'm guessing it's not a widespread problem.
I am using a c920, Windows 10 PC, and I cam on Adultwork and Streamate.
Today, in the respective encoders, when I choose my webcam I just get a black screen. I tried another old webcam and I'm having the same problem. When I try to use splitcam software it also doesn't work - black screen. Justcamit is also not detecting sound, whereas the External encoder is.
The webcams are working on Skype and in the Logitech software, and in browser versions of Justcamit and Stremate. They were also working in Verysofts preview window, but at some point between my many restarts, I'm just getting a black screen there too.
Any idea what the hell is going on?
:banghead:

Re: Webcam problem
Apparently it's the latest windows update it's buggered everything up. You can use justcamit lite for aw and I think smb is working. There is a thread here https://www.stripperweb.com/forum/sh...Encoder-Issues x

Re: Webcam problem

Just checked SM Broadcaster and it's not working either. :(

Re: Windows 10 Creators Update- Webcam, Encoder Issues
It worked.... eeeek, I uninstalled Avast, and SMBrodcast works again, yipee!!!!
-
Re: Webcam problem
Yup, uninstalled Avast after reading that thread, turned on Windows defender instead, and everything worked. By which time it was nearly midnight and I'd had enough for one bloody day! Xx

Re: Windows 10 Creators Update- Webcam, Encoder Issues
Ugh, now tonight I can't log into Streamate with the Encoder as it keeps stopping working as soon as I start my show. FFS!

Re: Windows 10 Creators Update- Webcam, Encoder Issues
Bump! I came back from sharkweek break to find that only JCIlite was able to pick up my cam. (Windows 7, haven't upgraded anything, literally turned my PC off on Monday and haven't touched it since.)
Uninstalling Avast has fixed it. Fingers crossed it will stay fixed, because I wasted half my night fighting with the bastard thing.

Re: Windows 10 Creators Update- Webcam, Encoder Issues
You have saved me, I love you.
Thanks for directing me to this thread. Bye, bye Avast! X

Re: Windows 10 Creators Update- Webcam, Encoder Issues
I'd like to figure out some kind of antivirus solution, ideally, but not at the cost of being able to work!
