Question about speed test results
Hello, i looked for this in the search prior to posting but i could not find anything about my question, i was wondering if these results are good for camming or not. I have Comcast as my isp and every time i call them they tell me I have the fastest internet they have available and that i should have no issues streaming. So here are my speed test results and i did the test with Seattle which is where the SM towers are supposedly located.
Download: 40.03 MBPS
Upload: 12.09 mbps
Ping: 52ms
I am not quiet sure what speed i need but i have been having problems camming for over a year it seems like on SM guys get kicked from my chat constantly and unable to connect to my chat, and they even tell me that it's only my chatroom. Are these results the problem? Just curious as to what my speed should be for camming.
Thanks
Re: Question about speed test results
What you have should be more than enough to run streamate and its encoder. Speedtest thread https://www.stripperweb.com/forum/sh...edtest-results!
Re: Question about speed test results
thank you, oh the encoder will not even run on my laptop right now. I am using a 7th gen i3 hp intel core latop. the only thing i could think is my webcam. my c920 stopped working so i am using a c510 which is garbage. i just ordered a new one. hopefully that will fix the issue. i was thinking it could have been the internet but i guess not, thank you for responding.

Lots of people are running into issues on any given day with SM. But when you have low specs it makes trouble shooting the issue a little more complicated :) It's probably time to upgrade to a stronger processor and a webcam. I recommend either an Asus or Lenovo.
Re: Question about speed test results
thank you, yeah i will be upgrading this computer very soon and i am waiting on my new c920 in the mail. :)
Re: Question about speed test results
In theory your upload speed is more than enough to run the highest setting on Streamate assuming your computer can handle it. Your upload is 'up to' 12mbps but that isn't exactly what you're getting if you are sharing a cable box with your neighbors which will cause your speed to drop drastically causing streaming problems because the line is so congested.
If guys get kicked from your chat constantly and unable to connect to your chat AND they even tell me that it's only your chatroom then it's your ISP.
I strongly believe that girls who are constantly having issues is due to their internet provider. What you can do is switch to Comcast Business internet where you don't share line with your neighbors, have unlimited data, and true to speed internet.
Re: Question about speed test results
that makes sense Marina i never thought about that. see i kept calling Comcast and they kept saying i was on the fastest one. but they never offered Business internet. i think we all do share a cable box here. Thank you, i will give them a call and try to get on it.
Re: Question about speed test results
Please test your upload speed here and see what you get: http://testmy.net/upload
Go here for Comcast Business: https://business.comcast.com/
SM do does glitches but if it's all the time and so much then it's your internet. I know it's easy to just blame SM. It doesn't matter if Comcast offers you upload speed of 50, if you are sharing with your neighbors and God forbid they do heavy shit, your internet will plummet.
